EXILED FROM CHINATOWN: the girls take on the big apple! THE END!!! p.25

Loved your boat tour! Those pics of the Statue of Liberty leave me speechless - absolutely beautiful - It will be hard to choose which ones to frame!

What beautiful sunset photos!! :thumbsup2

Sounds like a lovely cruise!

That's the biggest thing I noticed about the World Trade Center buildings - the lack of them and the space they left behind! You can just tell where they're meant to be.

I remember walking along the street near the World Trade Center, being freezing cold and covered in shadows from the huge buildings everywhere in New York. Then suddenly, the sun shone down on us and weren't in the shadows anymore - of course, because the buildings were missing. :confused3

Anyway, thanks for another great update Dawn!

I'm so glad you liked the boat tour! New York is so magical from the water :goodvibes: And your pictures of the Statue of Liberty are GORGEOUS! The ones of her silhouette in front of the setting sun could be in travel brochures... seriously amazing! And you had a better experience than you would've actually going to the Statue of Liberty, when you wait on like for 2 hours to be climb a ton of stairs and be ushered past five tiny windows in a minute while security whisks you away. Ellis Island's amazing, but the Statue of Liberty tour itself is just kind of... eh. You didn't miss anything. Glad you had a good time!

Wow, that looks like it was a great boat tour! The Statue of Liberty pics are seriously the best! What's the part that people used to go/started again going up in?

What a great boat tour! One thing I hate about walking around in NYC all day in the summer (because I always wear flip flops) is how disgustingly dirty my feet end up! They're like black and gross :scared:

All the pictures you took from the tour are gorgeous, especially the ones of the statue of liberty. I've never been to Liberty or Ellis Island...I suck at being from NY

Oh and I was going to tell you, my birthday is August 4 and I was telling Chris how I want to go to Central Park really bad after seeing your pictures so we might go there for a while and then stay in the city for dinner! I can't wait to see all the places you took pictures of :thumbsup2

I didn't know you could walk across the brooklyn bridge! How fun!

Your chinatown story is funny! Ii don't think I'd like it there either...too many people.

The cab ride pictures are hillarious!:rotfl: The 3 of you crack me up!

I've always wanted to visit NewYork, but it's so big it kinda scares me.

Your pics of the Statue Of Liberty with the sunset behind are stunning!

I love anna's hat! I've tried to wear one like it but I just looked like a dork.

Love the cruise pictures - they are gorgeous! Especially the Statue of Liberty pictures.

So cool!!!! I would love that boat ride too! Your photos are fabulous! Especially of Liberty! Awesome!

The boat tour sounds like it was relaxing and fun! :goodvibes

Okay..all caught up. I had been so behind. I started on pg 12 but only read your posts and nothing else cuz I still need to go over and catch up on your Christmas trip report and I am only on pg 77 there! Anyway, love the Ground Zero and the church photos. Amazing...I was tearing up the entire time. Also love Lady Liberty. Great TR!

P.S. Saw your post on Lesley's TR about how you are going to start trying for a little one very soon. GOOD LUCK!

I have been SOOOOO bad about posting on your TRs. Life has just been nuts for me this summer. But I wanted to tell you that I have been reading along with all of them and just loved it!

Thanks for the Fantasmic info on Memom's report! I can't believe that! I hope that isn't a new trend. What if they do the same for Illuminations and Wishes or the parades! That would make for a planning nightmare!:scared1: I hate to see them cut things back. That is what we loved about Disney.......... it was an overindulgence in everything! We all felt that our vacation dollars were well spent and that nothing had been spared for our entertainment pleasure while we were there. I sure hope it stays that way.

I have been meaning to ask you now for months if you ever heard anything back from the travel agent that I used who was looking for help? From the description on her web site, I thought you would have been a perfect fit. Just wondering if that worked out for you.

I meant to post that comment on your Christmas TR, not here since it's Disney related! Sorry! See, I am having a hard time keeping up with my subscriptions!:lmao: Oh well, I can't move it now! So forgive me for being off topic!;)

Oh gosh, that one is my favorite!!!! So beautiful! I mean, they are all gorgeous, but that one right there....WOW!!

Brooke is a nut!!!:rotfl2:

thanks! brooke definitely got the crazy gene. well, she and brett both.

it's my understanding they go up into her crown and look through the windows but i'm not positive. the boat tour was amazing!

yeah, it was neat to walk across it. chinatown was CRAZY!!!! :scared1: the cabs there are SCARY. not so much being in the cab (although that's scary in and of itself) but when people jaywalk it's like the cab drivers speed up to hit them! oh, you would love new york. as long as you have a plan it's fine. anna wears those hats all the time...they're so cute!

Love the cruise pictures - they are gorgeous! Especially the Statue of Liberty pictures.

oh, no worries! i've been behind too because of real life stuff. it happens! ;) ground zero and st. paul's chapel were amazing. thanks about the luck! hopefully by this time next year i'll have a little one but we'll see!

i hear ya! no problem - i've been really busy, too. i hope the cutbacks end soon too. we'll have to wait and see. i'm actually working with another travel agent. i contacted the place you told me about but they didn't get back to me. in the meantime i found another agency who hired me and i'm now doing disney trips for people (PM me if you want more info - i can't "solicit" business here). the woman from the place you told me about actually contacted me not too long ago but i told her i'd already gotten a position with another place. thanks, by the way! if you hadn't told me about it i may not have ever found the place i'm with now! :goodvibes

I love this one where you have the reflection off the water too :thumbsup2

All of those are just awesome!! I might have to have one framed too :upsidedow

What a GREAT pic of you two. Love it!! :goodvibes

This is exactly what Matt would be having me take a pic of :rotfl:

just let me know which one you want and i'll send it to you! they're on my kodak gallery account if you wanna look on there. i like that picture of me and brooke too. we look nothing alike but we have exactly the same color eyes....it's weird. i couldn't resist the "lifting the statue of liberty" pic! :rotfl:

Well that's great! It doesn't matter what company as long as you got on with someone. But was that a typo or did you mean that you are NOT doing Disney trips? You need to be doing Disney, girl! But I'm sure it is fun no matter what. I always wanted to be a travel agent, but for some ungodly reason I went into teaching. Maybe once my baby is in school all day I will look into the travel agent thing again and make a career change when I go back to work. We have a AAA travel office here that specializes in Disney. That would be dreamy!:cloud9: You might have something like that near you too. Who knows, maybe you could do this full time one day! If I ever run across any other opportunities like that, I'll be sure to let you know. Congratulations!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

BTW, are you liking it so far?

We just ate here on Fri. the 17th. The guy in your picture with the American flag tie serenaded us with "That's Amore" and "Volare' " The food was delicious! We were in NYC for the weekend to catch the Paul Mccartney concert at Citi Field.
