"Excuse me, your child can NOT go on stage with Mickey":Jan 2013 TR! updates x 3! 6/5

Holy cow!! Stuck on EE!! Wow--what an experience. That looks like a lot of stairs...I wonder what they would do if someone in the car was disabled and couldn't handle them? Anyway, that's nuts. Glad your fright turned to amusement quickly! And an anytime FP is always welcome, right?

Eeyore and Tigger are two of my very favorite characters. I just love Eeyore. And Tigger is always so much fun.

I have to say, ITA w/you about the family behind you. First of all, as a parent, NO WAY would I ever stand for that. I try to be nice and not get all riled up over stuff--especially at Disney!--but ugh, that attitude from the parents just gets me. I totally understand kids getting excited and running ahead (though i would not let my kids cut anyone, regardless of who was in their party) but for the parents to assume they were more important than other visitors is just wrong. So I will be petty right along with you that they had to wait for them to get their honey. :)

Oh no! I'm sorry you got stuck! I think it's hilarious that people had already tweeted it though.

Would you believe that we've never even made it to Dinoland? AK is just not our fave park.

Love the Roller Coaster Tycoon reference though. I'm a RCT dork myself. ;)

Ah getting stuck is a bummer, I probably would've freaked out! I'm glad you made the best of it though!

I loved Primeval Whirl simply because it's a crazy mouse clone, which is usually the only ride I will go on at local fairs! (And I appreciate the Roller Coaster Tycoon reference, that game was my everything!! haha)

Love your character pics too! Sorry about the rude family though :/ How annoying!

I'm torn about the whole getting stuck thing. On the one hand, I'm TERRIFIED of heights. I don't even ride Ferris wheels at all because I got stuck like you once. My kids go on them with Brandon. They know mom's a scaredy-cat. BUT, I do roller coasters with no problem because you move right through the heights...unless you get stuck.
If I got stuck, I'd panic if it happened at a high point. However, I have ALWAYS wanted to be evacuated :lmao:. I know that sounds a bit crazy, but it's true!! Always looking for a new experience, I guess!
Dinosaur, just...NO. I hate that ride. But I agree with you that Primeval Whirl is lots of fun! Julia and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that ride! And I'm pretty impressed with your Roller Coaster Tycoon knowledge :rotfl2:!!
Here's a secret: I don't even know where that meeting area is in AK:rolleyes1. I'd be more than a little upset with the people who cut and then thought it was totally okay. They got what they deserved.
SEPTEMBER IS ALMOST HERE!! AHHHHHH!!!

Yikes! Stuck on EE?!:scared: Part of me would love to be stuck, on any ride for that matter. It would be so fun to get a close-up look at all of those amazing imagineer details instead of speeding by them. Better yet would be getting a behind the scenes look if you have to enter the ride to evacuate. :hyper: Glad you survived and documented the adventure!:yay:

Yay for short waits on your M&Gs. And ITA about your response to the rude family. What a ridiculous assumption on their part. DD was usually running ahead too, but it was a great teaching moment about manners and patience. Now she's known by our friends and family as one of the most lovely and considerate people they know. Half the time she's telling me to cool my jets. (Ummm, let's just say I talk when I drive like they can hear me!:drive: :lmao:) Anyway, things worked out perfectly and that family got a lesson in patience anyway!:faint:

We love Primeval Whirl! It brings back great memories of those "ify" carnivals and fairs when we were little. Now that's living on the edge.

Yeah luckily we were stuck in a pretty safe area not like, really high up because then I might've been a little more :scared1:

They did ask when they came to evacuate us if we were all able to get out of the car and down the stairs. Everyone said yes so I'm not sure what they would've done if someone said no but it seems like they were prepared to deal with it.

We definitely enjoyed the anytime FP!

I'm glad you agree. At first, I thought I was over-reacting and being immature about it but the more I thought about it, the more I realized how obnoxious it was. I mean, I totally get that kids are excited and just love to run ahead of parents. I used to do it too but when it came time to wait in line, we waited where our parents were in line. Even so, without the rude comment, I probably would've just let them all go ahead of us. But, I'm glad everything worked out the way it did! :goodvibes

It's crazy how fast things make it to social media these days!

:rotfl2: I really enjoy Dinoland but I can see how it's not high on a little princess' priority list.

LOVE RCT! I bought the new edition on my mac from the app store but it's just not the same as the classic!

Ah getting stuck is a bummer, I probably would've freaked out! I'm glad you made the best of it though!

Yeah getting stuck was a little freaky!

AH I LOVE Roller Coaster Tycoon. I wish I could still play the old versions though. The new one I have on my mac just isn't the same.

Thanks! But ugh they were very obnoxious! :goodvibes

Great pics! :)

Thank you! :goodvibes

I agree 100%. I much prefer roller coasters to ferris wheels and all of those spin-in-circle rides. If we had been stuck higher up or anywhere crazy, I might've panicked but as it was, being evacuated was pretty fun! I think it's a Dis thing, getting to see the behind-the-scenes stuff :rotfl2:

Yes! DBF and I both love Primeval Whirl! :lovestruc Roller coaster tycoon!

:rotfl2: It's really out of the way and the area it's in is, to me, this random awkward area kinda near ITTBAB where I never know where I am. But apparently they're not meeting there anymore so I guess it doesn't matter! :lmao:

I have to agree. They did get what they deserve.

OMG I CAN'T EVEN DEAL! It's almost 60 days! :woohoo:

Yeah, getting to see some of the stuff up-close was cool but unfortunately we weren't near anything cool. I would love to be stuck on like Splash Mountain or the Haunted Mansion!

Sounds like your DD was similar to me when I was little. I would run ahead too but always knew that, in the end, I would go back to where they were to wait! I do much better at staying calm in Disney than I do elsewhere :rotfl2:

Haha I used to love those carnival rides when I was little but now, knowing they just pack the rides up and drive them somewhere else? :scared: no thanks!

We were stuck on the Haunted Mansion last year in the seance room with the crystal ball. It was unfortunate though because once your eyes totally adjust to the dark, you start seeing the wires that everything moves on. It was a much longer wait than the usual stoppage for a handicapped entry or exit. I don't know what I would have done if they turned on the lights and made us walk out. Probably close my eyes and have someone lead me out. I want my ghostly magic to remain intact!

Hm now that you mention it, that is a good point. While I'd love to see the workings and stuff you don't usually get to see, I also don't want to ruin the magic.

Hey Everyone! I apologize for my absence from the Dis for two weeks there! It was pretty busy around here.

At the rate at avoiding redundancy, I'll post the link to my Real Life Update from my PTR Real Life Update! That way, if you've read it already you can skip it. If you haven't read it and aren't interested, continue on. If you want to know, feel free to click away! :goodvibes

After we left our 100 Acre Wood friends, I was on a mission to find some Wilderness Explorers.

As luck would have it, we ran into them just as they were coming out for adventure!

We waved and then headed to get in line to meet them! The line only took about 10 minutes and then we were meeting our friends!

Dug and Russell were beyond perfect and adorable! The dad from the family in front of us kept telling his child to point out a squirrel to Dug and he would chase it but the child didn't want to so the dad ended up doing it and he and we were definitely more amused than the child! :rotfl2:

Then it was our turn.

Carl asked DBF for permission to kiss my hand :rotfl:

I was a little disappointed when I was editing the photopass pictures because there were some really cute Up borders that showed up on my other pictures and then they didn't show up for our Up pictures.

Photo0812FourBySix by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Dug signed our autograph book and licked it too!

Photo0816FourBySix by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Photo0823FourBySix by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Then he licked my hand so I guess we're friends now! He kept sniffing around my bag too and then I realized I had some kinda leftover snack in there at the top that he could see!

At this point, it was still only 11:10 so we decided to do It's Tough To Be A Bug while we were in the area.

I had to take some Tree of Life pictures on our way down the path!

These signs around the theater were pretty entertaining! We took a picture of this one because Chris' mom is from Chile.

While we were in ITTBAB, Presley, Jen and Rick were entering the park and having the most adorable photo shoot!

I can't even deal with how much of a perfect princess she is!

Photo0840FourBySix by RN Courtney, on Flickr

These are my favorite! I don't know how they got her to go along with the poses since she didn't actually have Simba obviously but she did it perfectly!

Photo0842FourBySix by RN Courtney, on Flickr

I can't quite remember where they headed first on their day but we headed across the park so we stopped for some Tree of Life pictures too!

Here we had two missions: meet characters and see FOTLK! I think we got over to Camp Mickey-Minnie right after they let one show in so it was the perfect time for character greeting trails.

We picked the ones we'd never met before first: King Louie and Baloo! I used to ADORE the Jungle Book when I was little and I used to walk around saying "Mog-weee" at all times for no apparent reason.

Photo0862FourBySix by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Photo0863FourBySix by RN Courtney, on Flickr

I loved the border but unfortunately it kinda got in the way of the picture.

Photo0865FourBySix by RN Courtney, on Flickr

We decided to get in line for the chipmunks next since we hadn't met them yet this trip somehow. While we were in line, I was checking Kennythepirate's app for the information on Poca's sets because she had moved around during Christmas but I thought she should be in CMM. Luckily, my DBF was ON TOP of things during this character stalking mission and turned around and was like "Oh hey, Poca's meeting right behind us!!" He's a keeper. I literally almost missed her. I ran over there and we were the LAST ONES to be allowed in the line. Needless to say, Chris earned his keep for the day.

Photo0866FourBySix by RN Courtney, on Flickr

I don't remember what we talked about but I do remember that it was perfect and she asked the right questions for her part and we loved her!

Photo0869FourBySix by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Then, we hopped BACK into line for the chipmunks and had one of our favorite character interactions of the trip!

When Chris gave Dale a handshake, he became impressed with Chris' arms and would NOT stop touching them or asking him to flex. At first he kept refusing, but finally the photopass photographer told him "Well, they want you to flex" so he did and Chip n Dale both made a huge deal over him. His face was red, I couldn't stop laughing and it was just so fun!

See, even in the posed picture, Chip is still touching his arm :rotfl2:

That's a lot of characters! Funny story about Chip and Dale. It's always fun when they make someone blush, haha.

Presley is super cute with the Simba pics!

Oh my gosh! I totally know the feeling of “not going on carnival rides because they set them up in a day” like, just no.

Kind of awesome that you guys got evac’d but too bad it wasn’t more exciting haha, and at least you got off the ride sooner rather than waiting for over an hour or anything!

Ugh dinosaur….

Yay for characters, and yeah, it doesn’t really make sense to have them over in dinoland, but like, what characters could even go there? Lawl.

I love that people always just walk right past where Pooh and friends are, it sucks that they’ve moved them now!!

Ahaha, good on ya on claiming your rightful spot back in line. I always get so annoyed with people who bash on character meters that are kids! Like, I paid the same amount of money as you to be here, I’ve been waiting in this line just as long, and I’m going to take my sweet time with my character meets!

ARG! I totally get the pp border problems! Like, they pop up on other pics, but not those ones. I’ve heard its because it has to do with the camera sign in not the actual location so if the person switches mid shift, or something weird happens you can miss out on borders!

Wow you guys got a lot of character greets done in AK, usually I only do one or two, and of course miss Poca somehow ahha. Love it! Love the chip and dale greet too, how awesome!!

Yeah I totally don't do carnival rides like that anymore! :crazy2:

Getting evacuated was pretty interesting but you're right, I'm really glad we weren't stuck any longer.

Aha yeah I guess no characters technically would fit in Dinoland :rotfl2: It really is annoying when people act like adults meeting the characters aren't as important as the kids. Like, I don't care how old I am, if I'm in WDW and I want to meet characters, that's what I'm going to do!

Hm I guess that makes sense about the borders. I wish they had a better system though!

Sorry for such a long delay! I hope some of you are still out there! I'm going to try my hardest to update this report more often in the interest of finishing before September!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When we left off, we had just met the chipmunks and next we decided to meet Donald!

DSCN0891 by RN Courtney, on Flickr

I love the Donald themed Christmas tree!

Photo0882FourBySix by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Photo0884FourBySix by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Donald was making fun of DBF saying he was stealing me away!

Photo0888FourBySix by RN Courtney, on Flickr

Photo0898FourBySix by RN Courtney, on Flickr

I'm not sure why we put such fake smiles on for this picture?

Photo0901FourBySix by RN Courtney, on Flickr

This one's better!

Next it was time to line up for the FOTLK! While we were waiting to go in the theater, I was getting pretty mad. There was an older (we're talking 70s) couple in front of us and the man kept turning around and staring at my pants with a dirty look on his face. I mean, I get it. Ripped jeans are a style that not many people appreciate. It makes me grandma mad too but seriously, they are not interfering with your enjoyment and you're choosing to turn around and look at me. However, I decided to be the bigger person and refrain from making any rude comments even when he turned around and rolled his eyes and sighed, because it's WDW and who wants to be arguing?

Then we went in the theater and watched the best show ever!

My pictures are pretty dark because I was recording the whole thing so I was using the take picture while recording function and the pictures don't always come out great which makes me sad.

This picture makes me laugh because the way that person's hand is positioned, it looks like he/she is holding the float!
