Excuse me, you'll need to see security. What has Mickeystoontown done? Update 3/25x2

We love Duck Dynasty too. now I have a question, Jessica is Jeps wife...right? But how comes Jep really isn;t a "main" character. It took us forever to figure out he was a brother and only recently what his name was. he rarely speaks and they don't do the side interviews with him. Also we have heard Miss Kay says she has 4 boys. Who is the other one?
As we speak, Skip is watching it. ;)

Jep is the youngest and, like you said, doesn't say a whole lot on the show. He was in the Duck Commander store when we went and he was working the register for a while. He acts like he is kind of shy as does Jessica.

There are four boys in the family. The one that is never shown is Allen (maybe spelled Allan or Alan, I can't remember). He is a pastor and just recently announced that he is going to retire from pastoring. In the early years of Duck Commander (they also have Buck Commander), Allen worked for the company.

John is sitting in the living room watching Duck Dynasty too! He could watch every episode over and over and over again.

Who knew a leotard could look so good on a man?

After walking through the Pangani Forest Trail, we ducked into one of the stores at the end of the trail just to have a look around. Some of the items they have for sale:

DSCF3422.jpg

Various plants for sale including a $25.00 money tree. We all laughed and said that it was, indeed, a money tree because it made Disney money.

More merchandise:

Nope, Laceys not for sale but everything behind her is:

John bought this hat last year:

DSCF3427.jpg

We were all getting hungry so we decided to head back towards Pizzafari for lunch. It wasnt very busy at all and we were able to find a table easily. Everyone ordered pizza and salad with the exception of John who ordered the hot Italian style sandwich with chips.

DSCF3431.jpg

DSCF3432.jpg

Our table was right beside the back wall and I had my back to the rest of the room so I wasnt able to take pictures of the various murals. These are the only two pictures that I took and they are pretty creepy. Run Zebras Run! Run for your lives!

DSCF3435.jpg

I know that we all had a dessert with our meals but I didnt take pictures of them and, apparently, without pictures, I cant remember what we had.

Up next on our to do list was a trip to:

DSCF3436.jpg

A nod to the mythical beasts which were supposed to make their way into the Animal Kingdom someday:

DSCF3438.jpg

We didnt have to wait long before we were let into the theater. We were seated in the lion section just two or three rows up from the handicap seating. While we waited, John did the usual and rested his eyes:

DSCF3439.jpg

They it was time for the show to start! Ahhhhh, hey yahhhhh, blabby bleet blabby blaaaaaa! Hey yahhhhhh yea! Dont judge me for not knowing what the heck they say at the start of the show/song. It sounds like Ahhhhh, hey yahhhhh, blabby bleet blabby blaaaaaa! Hey yahhhhhh yea! to me.

Anyway, with the sounding of the horns, the Ahhhh, hey yahhhhh and the music blaring, John came wide awake and the picture taking was on. And what crappy picture taking it was. For some reason, my camera wasnt focusing correctly and the lights from the other side would come around and blind me and then the guy in front of me would hold lean to the side and and and and, well, they just came out looking like poo. Ill post some of them just to prove that we were there:

See that freaking blinding light!

The poor sap who was chosen to make the warthog sound:

Heres how to make an elephant trunk:

DSCF3452.jpg

Raise your hands in the air like you just dont care! Oh wait, another song/another dance move.

DSCF3461.jpg

I tried changing the setting on the camera and the colors came out better but it was fuzzy looking:

The stiltwalkers!

Oh yeah! Here come the tumble monkeys!

DSCF3478.jpg

The lights were swirling everywhere and I couldnt get a good picture of the monkeys in action so I put the camera down and simply appreciated their acrobatic skills and the fact that the leotards sure did look good on em. Those guys are fit!

The one and only picture that came out half way decent of the fire twirling guy:

DSCF3490.jpg

We once saw the back of his headpiece catch fire during a show and a couple of guys alerted him to the fact and he put it out without many people even noticing.

These two arent too bad. Well, yes they are but at least you can make him out in the pictures:

DSCF3492.jpg

DSCF3493.jpg

Can you feel the love tonight? Hum, hum hum hum hum. (Forgot the next words of the song)

DSCF3496.jpg

I thought that this picture was kinda cool even though if you didnt know what was going on, it would just look like a bunch of swirls:

Another A-MAZ-ING show! Love love love it! We shuffle stepped out of the theater along with the hundreds of other people. Where would we go next?

**Up next: The chapter with no name (yet). I have no more pictures uploaded to Photobucket so Ill give the next chapter a name when I see what we did next.

**edited to add next installment name: Who gives a flip if a tree branch falls on me? I wanna see the tree!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE FotLK!!! And I think your pictures look great! The swirly ones are pretty cool looking, I have a few of those too. :goodvibes

It's my favorite show! I don't see how people get good pictures at the Festival of the Lion King. Mine always turn out pitiful.

I love the Festival of the Lion king! It is just such an amazing show! I'll be in tears if they ever cancel it.

I have heard rumors that it will close but I sure hope that it doesn't.

I don't watch Duck Dynasty but Si came to speak at our annual Wild Game Dinner at church last year.

How cool! We love Duck Dynasty in our house...a little concerned about their squirrel eating habit, brains, eyes and all! They are good fun to watch!

We are Duck Dynasty fans! My boys are so jealous of Hunter :) They are always quoting lines from the show. I actually bought them some Duck Dynasty t-shirts and Si's cup for Christmas.

I've been reading along but haven't commented for a bit.
Funny about you mentioning Duck Dynasty. I'd never heard of it and a week or so ago my DD9's BFF was over and talking about the boy John Luke. Her parents love that show too. I just thought, okay...
Then you mentioned it too - I think I'm going to have to check it out!

Glad to hear your nephew's baby is doing better!

Hunter was so excited to meet the Duck Dynasty people in person. We've met them in passing and, like I said, have mutual friends. Mr. Phil made appearances at our school as part of a fundraiser.

We absolutely love the show and can watch it over and over and over again.

Now, now! You DID get some excellent pictures from the Lion King show! But I know what you mean- I have never been satisfied with the pictures I have from there. It is such a visual masterpiece!

Between the awesome music and the really cool performances along with the amazing puppet? animals, I think this is my favorite Disney show.

Sorry...I'm a little behind again (so much to do before we leave Thursday and I have to sneak and do it so Mark doesn't find out :headache:).

I have come to love the Animal Kingdom and would love to spend an entire day there. You got some great shots on the safari ride despite the driver never slowing down or stopping. And :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 on the lions being up and walking around.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the hat Hunter is modeling. :yay::yay::yay:

Great pics of the gorillas.

So happy the baby is doing better.

I was so excited to see that the "reveal" went so well for you!

I could spend hours and hours at the Animal Kingdom just watching the animals and so could Hunter. John and Lacey, not so much. :sad2:

I'm caught up again! Bless Tripp's Momma's heart! I cannot imagine my baby being taken away from me so quickly!

Love the Safari! Funny your trip was so fast, I was upset with ours because it took so LOOONG! They had too many jeeps out and I could tell the poor driver was scrambling for things to say, because you could see 4 or 5 jeeps ahead of us and we couldn't really move cause they weren't… I think there were some animals in the way, but I did think it took WAY longer than any other safari trip! :confused3

Tripp gets to come home sometime today! We are so happy!

I'm sure that the drivers have a hard time trying to think of things to say when there's a back-up of trucks like that. Poor things!

Wow! What an awesome morning of animal viewing! Great shots of the lions (I've never seen them up during our safaris!) and the gorillas. I love the ones you got of the big guy drinking from the stream.

I've never even heard of Duck Dynasty...but I gather it's a hunting show? I'm SO out of the loop with TV though since we haven't had cable in many, many years. Very cool that they are normal, down to earth people and love God! :thumbsup2

Weren't the gorillas and lions cool? I couldn't believe we saw so the lions up like that. That was a first for us.

Duck Dynasty comes on A&E. If ya'll ever get the chance to watch it, do so. It's mostly about the family escapades (with some hunting involved but not a lot) and every show ends with the "moral of the story" type monologue and a prayer. It's all about family!

The baby is such a cutie! I'm so happy both him and the mom are doing better. :goodvibes

I always thought there were only two lions in the safari. You learn something new everyday!

Isn't he a cutie pie!?! I can't wait to get my hands on him.

I never realized that there were three lions either but there were! We were so excited!

Wow! I was so far behind, yet again! I've been laughing so much this morning catching up!

I'm glad y'all got to go see Lacey & Jesse over Thanksgiving!

I'm not sure when we'll be going back to Disney World  I know! Buuuut, we've got a family reunion in Colorado in July. Seeing as how we'll be "as close as we'll probably ever be" to California, we might try to make a Disneyland trip work. We've really been talking about it, but it will come down to dates, flights, and money: as things generally come down to anyway! :lmao:

That is, if we don't just ditch it and drive to Florida in May! :rotfl:

It's so funny that you mentioned Disneyland. I spent my entire lunch hour one day last week trying to figure out how we could make the trip there in 2014. I also wanted to add in two days at the Grand Canyon, three days at DL, a day in Tombstone and a day at Roswell. However, the trip would be over 3,300 miles round trip and 5 1/2 days of that would be hard driving. I'm talking 8 to 13 hours a day driving. :faint:

After talking it over, we decided to heck with it, we're just going to keep going to Walt Disney World.

I am working on catching up but I had to comment on the posts I have read so far!

I'm sorry your cruise ended on a down note. It sounded like such a stressful evening. That CM was so unhelpful too! I'm glad in retrospect you remember the good times & would consider another cruise. The bike ride on CC looked nice.

It was a very stressful evening and the nasty CM didn't help make it any better.

I loved the pics of Jesus on Main Street! That is so cool that your son-in-law takes him everywhere.

Jesus will probably make an appearance in our 2013 trip too.

Your day at MK looked liked a lot of fun. We have never done the Tiki Room or the Country Bears. We will have to try & fit those in next time.

You should try working those two into your next trip. ::yes::

Oh my goodness between the pics of your husband with Tiana & your BTMRR pics I have been in a giggle fit! Thanks for that (even though its belated.)

We are a bunch of nuts and I knew that I had to share those pictures just to confirm it for those who may have had any doubts. :rotfl:

It seems like 2012 has been tough on your family. Wishing you all the best in the new year. I also saw about your friends' child that has autism. I will certainly keep them in my prayers. The journey with a special needs child is long & full of highs & lows. I hope one day that we can all find the special pieces that help our kids.:goodvibes

Please do keep my friends' child in your prayers. You know from personal experience what it's like so I'm sure you know an exact prayer to say.

Replies in red.

Finally all caught up!!! So jealous of the lion and lionesses being up and all out, I never see more than 1 female out!

I ADORE your gorilla pictures!! :lovestruc They are truly fantastic!

And that is really cool that you got to meet the Robertson family. I don't really watch the show, though I have seen parts of episodes before. I hope Hunter does get a job there, that would be great!

Weren't the lions cool! I couldn't believe we saw three of them.

You should watch the television show. It's hilarious!

Now, now! You DID get some excellent pictures from the Lion King show! But I know what you mean- I have never been satisfied with the pictures I have from there. It is such a visual masterpiece!

Between the awesome music and the really cool performances along with the amazing puppet? animals, I think this is my favorite Disney show.

Thanks! If you could look through the other pictures, you'd see just how many bad ones that I took. I bet I had at least twice as many as I posted.

Like you said, it's such a visual masterpiece that I don't know that any picture would do it justice.

I think that I posted replies to everybody. I just uploaded another 361 pictures to Photobucket and I need to organize them. Once that's done, I can pick a title for the next installment and get busy writing.

Good news! Baby Tripp is supposed to go home today!

Bad news! John just made a trip to the walk-in clinic because he has some sort of crud. He called and was whining about the $90 he just spent and that his hips were hurting from the two shots that he got. Poor baby!

Love, love, love FotLK!!! Seriously, my DH thinks I'm nuts because I have to get in line early so that I can get a good seat.

It's funny how I've seen it so many times that I recognize the performers now and I have my favorites...even the ensemble cast.

My fingers are crossed that the rumored closing is just a temporary close while they build a new theater.

Over 350 more pictures?!?!? Girl, you are going to be writing this trip report until 2014!

It's funny that you said that about recognizing the performers. We do the same thing. There are several that I know have been there for years and years.

I hope that it's just a rumor too!

Uh I hate to tell you but those 350 pictures aren't all of them. I am now uploading 498 more and I think that's going to be it for pictures. I gotta get busy and write installments more often. It's just so hard to do in between work and life.

Hi Lisa
I'm still here...doing more lurking that commenting...busy time at work!! But I am keeping up with your updates!!

848 more pictures have been uploaded to Photobucket some of which will come off after I look at them more closely. I've come up with a name for the next installment and am about to get to work on it. The boss slipped out early to take care of some personal business so I think I'll take my 15 minute smoke break (I don't smoke but I'll take that break anyway.) and write a short installment.

Who gives a flip if a tree branch falls on me? I wanna see the tree!

Our next destination was Its Tough To Be A Bug! We love the show and were looking forward to Jesse seeing it. I was also excited to show him all of the various carvings on the Tree of Life. I snapped this picture of John, Hunter and I (and my extra chins):

DSCF3546.jpg

Imagine our surprise when, just around the river bend, oops, I did it again, another Disney song. Imagine our surprise when, just around the bend, we came upon this:

DSCF3547.jpg

DSCF3548.jpg

What the flim flam was all this covered/netted walkway all about? Then, I remembered a story that I had read about a limb falling from the tree: http://www.clickorlando.com/news/Di...off/-/1637132/11659792/-/wldgkfz/-/index.html

For a while, Its Tough to be a Bug was completely shut down. It had reopened prior to our arrival but, apparently, they left the covered walkway up. Who gives a flip if a tree branch falls on me? I wanna see the tree! With the wire netting all around, our view of the carvings was obstructed and we couldnt see a lot of the tree. Every now and then, there were openings where the larger carvings were. Like the one above and this one:

DSCF3549.jpg

See how obstructed the view was:

DSCF3550.jpg

I understood why they were concerned and why the walkway was what it was. But, just because it is what it is, didnt make me any happier.

The line did seem to move a bit faster and I figured that was because nobody was stopping to gaze up at the splendor of the tree and marvel at the craftsmanship of the carvings. Soon, we were underground and donning our bug eyes:

DSCF3553.jpg

DSCF3554.jpg

Once inside the theater, I decided to give some non-flash photography a try and they turned out just like I expected....they look all wobbly. Maybe I should have put my 3D glasses on my camera! Thats something Ill have to try next trip. In the meantime, here are the non-3d pictures.

We all giggled as the announcer told us to all stay in our seats until all the bugs had left the theater. We knew that it would catch Jesse off guard as well as make the others in the theater scream. Jesse let out a little ooh when the bugs crawled under his behind and we, of course, laughed a maniacal laugh.

Once outside, I was glad to see that we could at least look at the tree from that side and I took a few pictures while everybody pointed out the various animals that they could see.

**Up next: Yall wanna ride Expedition Everest? Not Yeti!

That's too bad that the tree was covered up!!! It definitely does not have the same effect all covered with mesh!

Ahhh ITTBAB creeps me out...but that is funny that you surprised Jesse with the bugs at the end!
