Excuse me, you'll need to see security. What has Mickeystoontown done? Update 3/25x2

Muster is not something I'm looking forward to, sounds about the same as on the Wonder, as does the sail away party. I prefer slightly more elbow room than that!

Glad you found where you needed to be at least :)

I'm a little late in this but I'll be following along :)
Sounds like you're off to a great start!!

Uggghh. The muster drill sounds like kind of a nightmare. But, way to go Hunter finding the spot!

The sail away party looks cute, but again with the crowds. I suppose that's to be expected since that's the only thing to do at the time. Did you enjoy it?

First off -- YAY for new furniture!! Gotta be fun to have a "new" living room.

I am rethinking my statement that you are making me want to book a cruise. I am not a fan of crowds that tightly packed. At all. Still looks like fun, but I think I'll be happy to view someone else's fun and not put myself in the middle of that sardine can... :rotfl2:

After reading your updates and replies I'm starting to wonder if I should cancel our cruise and just do Disney again..... I'm really worried now that it won't be as good as a Disney vacation and we would have wasted all that money. Decisions.... Decisions....

Yay for new furniture! We just got a new sofa and loveseat...it makes a huge difference to get new furniture...feels like a whole new room!

Ahh....muster drill. I remember it well! My hubby does not like close quarters so he wasn't a big fan, but it didn't last too long. Glad you found your station!

That does look like a big crowd for sail-away. We cruised a non-Disney line so our party was different. We just opted to get a drink and enjoy the view at the rail! ;)

Wow... I thought we built some big ships. That thing is huge. And the Norwegian ship, too. sheesh.
We put more guns on ours, though... :rolleyes1 pirate:

Great installment, Lisa. And remember... 'Forward' goes to the 'Bow', which is the pointy end of the ship :rotfl2:
Did you see any flying fish? I used to love looking for those.

I know! Aren't those cruise ships some big ole suckers?

I finally figured out the forward was the pointed end. :lmao:

We didn't see any flying fish but we did see other marine life. I tried to get pictures (which I'll post in the next installment) but they didn't turn out so great.

Yay you are on the ship! Happy Birthday to Hunter! Sailaway party is fun but you are right it is hot! Can't wait to read more.

Thanks! The sailaway party was fun but it was, indeed, hot!

Looks like fun, except for the heat and crowds!! My DH and I have been on two cruises, both with NCL. We would love to take one with our 6 kiddoes, but the cost may be rather prohibitive!!

Oh Lordy! I can just imagine what the cost of a Disney cruise would be for a family your size. :guilty:

To answer your question, we don't freeze our squash. We do freeze just about everything else. Occasionally we freeze zucchini for zucchini bread. Mostly I take the surplus to work and everyone gets real excited about it. Most of my coworkers don't have a garden, so fresh stuff is a treat. Especially, free fresh stuff.

Glad you warned me about the muster drill and the tight quarters.

The Sail Away Party always looks like so much fun. Glad you fear of heights did not bother you on the boat.

Looking forward to more!

I bet your co-workers are glad to see you coming with the extra produce. I like to sautee my squash and then freeze them. That way, all I have to do is defrost them and cook them a little and I have a side dish. Mama also makes a squash dressing that's to die for.

We'll be at POFQ!

Maybe we'll unknowingly cross paths!

By the time I finish up this trip report, you'll be very familiar with our faces so if you see us at Disney give me a holler!

Yay for new furniture!

Muster drill sounds like....fun ;) Yay for sailing away from port!

I love my "new" living toom!

Yeah, the muster drill was a blast! NOT!:rotfl:

Muster is not something I'm looking forward to, sounds about the same as on the Wonder, as does the sail away party. I prefer slightly more elbow room than that!

Glad you found where you needed to be at least :)

There was definitely not any elbow room by the time they packed us in our assigned muster drill spot. Oh well, it was over pretty quickly.

I'm a little late in this but I'll be following along :)
Sounds like you're off to a great start!!

Heck no you're not late! Welcome!

Great update! Love the pictures of the Sail Away party---looks really cute!

The party was very lively but it was pretty crowded.

Uggghh. The muster drill sounds like kind of a nightmare. But, way to go Hunter finding the spot!

The muster drill wasn't super bad but it wasn't super good either. Thankfully, the castmember was pretty speedy with her spiel.

We did enjoy the sail away party. The people down on the deck below us were all dancing and jumping and having a rowdy time.

Had to come over and say hi from the UnOffical May 2013 thread. I don't have time right now to read everything (my daughter wants to go to the mall to pick out some new shorts for her outing with her best friend tomorrow), but as soon as I get home I promise to catch up. Looking foward to it. :thumbsup2

Isn't it amazing how getting new furniture makes you feel so good! You'd think I was living in a whole new house.

John wasn't a fan of the muster drill either but at least he was at the back of the line and up against the ship's wall.

After reading your updates and replies I'm starting to wonder if I should cancel our cruise and just do Disney again..... I'm really worried now that it won't be as good as a Disney vacation and we would have wasted all that money. Decisions.... Decisions....

I'd say to keep the reservation intact. While I have to admit that cruising was definitely not our "thing", there were some very good times to be had on the ship.

First off -- YAY for new furniture!! Gotta be fun to have a "new" living room.

Every time I walk through the living room, I smile. Well worth those hard earned and spent dollars.

Before we went on the cruise, I was super gung-ho about it. After getting on the ship, I wasn't quite as sure about it. But, like I said above, we did have a good time, especially on pirate night!

Hey and Welcome! Of course she needs to get to the mall. A girl has to look stylish when she goes out with friends. :thumbsup2

Awesome update Lisa! Yeah, unless you can quote something wonderfully magical on the ship, I still say a cruise is DEFINITELY not for me. Those crowds! OMG!! :scared1: And it's not like you can jump in the water (ocean) to get away from them. I would even be claustrophobic in your cabin. Yeah, I just can't do it!

The crowds in the "common" (for lack of a better word) were a bit bad but on other parts of the ship, we didn't have problems. The cabin was good size so I never felt the claustrophobic feeling...thank goodness!

Got caught up today. I haven't been reading many TR's the past few days since I had to work the weekend, but I am off today and just finished up my paperwork from last night. Now I am free until 5pm tomorrow.

Congrats on the new furniture! We really need new furniture in our living room, we have the $$ just haven't gotten our acts together to go out and look for it... That's great you booked your trip for next year already! Hope your Mama and sister and BIL can all go too, it's fun with a large group as long as everyone gets along.

Great pics of your Cabin, it was a really nice one, too bad about the yucky smell. That was a great porthole!

That Muster Drill sounded about the same as other ones I have been to. Be thankful they have changed somewhat because you used to have to wear the life vests throughout thew whole thing! (talk about hot and stuffy!)

During that Sail Away party you got a pic of the ship we are going to be on next year!! We are going on the Norwegian Gem in Nov 2013! Can't wait, I have been on a few cruises but not on that line so I am looking forward to trying something new.

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip!

Glad that you're all caught up again! We did the same thing as you...had the money saved but couldn't find the time to go pick something out.

I had heard that you used to have to wear your lifevests during the muster drill. I'm so glad they did away with that rule! I can just imagine how crowded and sweaty that would have been.

John wasn't a fan of the muster drill either but at least he was at the back of the line and up against the ship's wall.
And taking a nap? :p

(Yes, I've been reading for awhile but didn't post because I'm just that way. And I've been using up most of my posting privileges over in the dining forums and making snarky comments in the TPAS forums :p)

Still can't get over how much hunter has changed since I read your "Gotta pee" TR way back in the summer of 2009. He was just a little kid back then.

As for the cruise, I've been thinking about doing one for awhile, but a) It'd be expensive for me (yay for traveling solo...) and b) I'm not the kind of vacationer that likes to sit around and do nothing. I do plenty of that at home :p (Yes, there's stuff to do, but I'm not a swimmer, sunbather, spa-person, night club goer, etc)

One of the things that has not excited me about a cruise is having to do the muster drill. I was thinking it would be really long though.

The sail away party looks cute but I can't imagine having my kids in the crowd craziness!

Looking forward to more!

The ship really does look gorgeous! The claustrophobic feeling doesn't sound too pleasant, but hopefully the crowds weren't too bad after the first few events!

Hey Allan! I can't say anything about you just reading and not posting 'cause I find myself doing that a lot. If you hear any rumblings whatsoever about free dining again in May, you gotta let me know. I know that it's about as likely as finding an ice cube in hell but a girl can dream. :rotfl:

Hasn't Hunter grown up a lot!?! He doesn't look like a little boy any more. He's a young man.

As you'll see as I get further into the trip report, the reasons that you've listed on why you haven't cruised yet, are some of the reasons why I am not of the opinion that cruising just ain't our "thang".

One of the things that has not excited me about a cruise is having to do the muster drill. I was thinking it would be really long though.

I think it took more time for the castmembers to get us all situated for the muster drill than the actual drill took.

I know that I wouldn't have liked being on the same deck as the sail away party. The crowd there was :scared1:.

The ship really does look gorgeous! The claustrophobic feeling doesn't sound too pleasant, but hopefully the crowds weren't too bad after the first few events!

The ship is, indeed, gorgeous! The only real time we felt claustrophobic was when we attended the sail away party, on the deck with the pools and waiting for the restaurants to open.

You know my daughter so well, are you sure we don't know each other?:lmao: I normal don't indulge in her fashionista behavior to much but she just had a birthday and had some birthday money burning a hole in her pocket. :goodvibes

So I admite I didn't read everything, I tried at first but ended up going back and using your table of contents to get all the big updates. I must admite that this is the first TR (?) that I have read and I am loving it. Someday I hope to be able to go on a cruise, but I will have to make sure to have enough money to tack on a couple of Disney Days on to it. I can't see myself so close to Disney property without heading to a park or two.

Can't wait to read more.

Birthday money has a habit of burning holes in pockets, that's for sure. ;)

I wouldn't have expected you to read everything 'cause we like to chat. That's why I have those handy dandy update links.

I'm so glad that you're enjoying the report. As I believe you can tell from the hint in my trip report title, our family has a way of getting into some crazy spots while at Disney.

Before I booked the cruise, we were set to be in Walt Disney World for 11 days/10 nights. After booking the cruise, we had to break our WDW days down. Like you, there's no way I could drive all the way to Florida and not go to the parks.
