Excuse me, you'll need to see security. What has Mickeystoontown done? Update 3/25x2

Hi Lisa! Great update!!! I love DTD!!! And I too think the buses to and from there aren't too good! :confused3 Never tried WGP! Will have to put that on my list of places to try!

Great update. WPE looks delicious. We will have to try it. We usually just go to DTD the night that we arrive, but for this trip we are adding an extra day to rest and go to DTD. We figure our 4 year old, Matthew, might need a day to rest. This is his third trip but the first one that he is truly excited about. :goodvibes

You have a great family. Can't wait to read more about your adventures.

We tried WPE for the first time on our last trip, and it's one of our must-dos now. In fact, we went again on our departure day the last time we were there - everyone else in our party was flying but us, and we ended up with everyone's Key to the World cards to use up the leftover CS credits/snacks. WPE was the first place DH and I thought of, and since it was easy to get to with the car. Love their margharita pizza!!!

Sounds like a relaxing day - you still get the Disney feel, but you don't have to mess with the crowds. :thumbsup2 Can't wait to see what's next!

YES, DTD buses really do suck!:thumbsup2
We've never tried WPE or EoS, either! We always end up at RFC, but I'm hoping to change that on our next trip.

I know I'm ready to get back to CBR when I get excited about pictures of the condiment bar:lmao:!

I am glad to hear Wolfgang's is good. The prices were too high for us to chance trying it this year (with a budget of $40 per day for food for the two of us, we had to be careful). But we will have to try it next trip when, hopefully, the money won't be so tight. But we did eat at EOS and it was great. And even though it is busy (ALL the time), the lines usually go pretty fast. And the potato soup was incredible!!

Hey Lisa,
Great updates. (I'm a bit behind because I wasn't getting email notifications from the DIS) Anyway, I'm glad I'm caught up now. I hope your toe is healing and I'm deeply sorry about the passing of your neighbor.

I also have never eaten at WPE so will have to add that to our list of things to do/try, that food looked super yummy!
I had to laugh about John and his socks. I always have to buy my dad Disney socks when we go to WDW because he says the same thing - they are the most comfortable. The price is a little  but if they're so comfy - it must be worth it!! I'll have to buy myself a women's pair some time to see what the fuss is about. :)

I love the way the food court is decorated at CBR - whenever I see a picture of it, it makes me want to go back there! We stayed at Pop (1-night)/POR during our May trip and although the food at their food courts is really tasty, I miss the decor of CBR!

Great update, Lisa! Your food at Wolfgang puck looks great! I have a question about the pizza.

Are those red things chunks of tomato? I'd love to eat there, but heaven forbid if the sauce isn't smooth for JJ.

That was so nice of you and your dh to get a rental car for them. The trip to and from does put wear and tear on the car.

Where's the picture of you in your new hat?

Congrats on the good bus karma! :thumbsup2 Too funny about Mr. Safe Bus Driver.

That pineapple coconut pastry looks great. I bet it was really good heated up!

So glad you enjoyed WGPE as much as we did! ::yes:: Great update. I do wanna see your hat, though! popcorn::

We had never eaten at EoS or WP before this last trip. (We still haven't eaten at WP-). We tried EoS for the first time and we loved it! Rachel even said that she didn't anticipate liking it, because it was "just a sandwich", but afterwards we all agreed that we'd be back there again. :)

As for the line-there was a long one when we got there, but it moved quickly!

The DTD buses are different from the others? We usually take the boat from POFQ but had to take the bus once when we ate at Boma. It was a terrifying ride! Driver drove extremely fast and kept swerving. Then he hit the brakes and stopped in the middle of the road. Of course, I'm thinking he's trying to avoid an accident. But he gets up, comes to the back of the bus grumbling, and says something about a warning light being on about the rear door. He bangs on it and kicks it and then goes back up to the driver's seat and away we go. Then he didn't like the way the traffic was sitting at a red light so he went around everyone and right through the intersection. That was our one and only DTD bus experience, but I assumed that these buses were the same buses and drivers as the park buses. Maybe not?

We have never eaten at WPE either but sooooo many people rave about it on their TR that it is on our list to try next visit. Glad to hear you liked it too!

I have only been to DTD twice. Once we went by boat from Port Orleans -Riverside in March 2008 and the other by bus from the Beach Club in August 2010. The boat ride was nice. The bus....not so much...to say it was awful is an understatement. I'm glad your bus transportation was pixie dusted. The meal at WPE looked nice. I am trying to decide if we should work a time to get to DTD into our October schedule or not. Right now I am leaning towards not, but I still have months in which to change my mind. That stinks about your toe. You don't think about how important those little things are until you break one...ouch!

WOW! I think I would have gotten the name of the driver and filed a complaint! That's VERY unsafe!! I'm sure Disney would want to know if their drivers were behaving inappropriately and not following traffic regulations!!! And I'd have needed a change of clothes after a ride like that. :lmao:

When we went last year, Cortlyn was just so excited to be on the bus, I don't think it would have mattered if we were on there for an hour! The child thought that the buses were some of the coolest rides! :rotfl: That's what you get at 2.5- the sheer JOY of being at Disney!!

We had EOS and it was tasty, but I wouldn't go back with kids. The PB&J is toasted!!! We weren't sure about it, and Cortlyn didn't want to eat it. I kinda understand!!

We are big fans of Wolfgang Puck's Express! That's usually our last Disney meal before heading home. And Earl of Sandwich is usually our first meal upon arrival! The sandwiches there are better than the "ordinary" sandwich, so maybe Hunter could find something there he'd like.

Ah! So that's when you got that cute hat you were wearing on the cruise! :goodvibes

We usually always drive when we go to DTD, but honestly, over the past several years, we've begun driving to the parks, too. I don't know if it saves time or not, but it seems be quicker. Maybe it's just one of those "if you're moving, it's better than sitting still" things, though. :confused3

Oh My! I can't imagine driving to the parks or to DTD ever again! Once we realized how easy it was to let Disney do the driving for us, we haven't driven anywhere on Disney property again.

I'm with Cortlyn! I love taking the Disney buses too. It just seems like the buses going from DTD to the resorts are soooo bad.

Umm, I'm not sure that I'd like a toastd PB&J sandwich.

Years ago, when we stayed offsite, we didn't go to DTD at all. But, once we did, we were hooked. I just enjoy having all those shopping and eating venues all in one place.

My toe still hurts if I step on it wrong and it's black and blue still but it's getting better.

We have never eaten at WPE either but sooooo many people rave about it on their TR that it is on our list to try next visit. Glad to hear you liked it too!

It was a little pricey if you're paying out of pocket but it was very good so I didn't mind paying it.

The only way they are different is that they seem to be so dog gone slow gonig back to the resorts. Holy moley! Your bus driver was C-R-A-Z-Y! Scary!

We love WPE and just tried EOS last month and loved that too! What great bus luck - most trips we have pretty good bus luck even to and from DTD. Our worst bus experiences were at POFQ. Looking forward to the next update!

Hi Lisa! Great update!!! I love DTD!!! And I too think the buses to and from there aren't too good! :confused3 Never tried WGP! Will have to put that on my list of places to try!

We love it too and I was so afraid that we weren't going to get to spend any time there. Thank goodness, we added that extra day.

Great update. WPE looks delicious. We will have to try it. We usually just go to DTD the night that we arrive, but for this trip we are adding an extra day to rest and go to DTD. You have a great family. Can't wait to read more about your adventures.

Yay for that extra day! It's nice to rest and then do a little shopping and eating. Isn't it wonderful to see how excited the kiddos get when talking about a trip to Disney!?!

We tried WPE for the first time on our last trip, and it's one of our must-dos now. In fact, we went again on our departure day the last time we were there - everyone else in our party was flying but us, and we ended up with everyone's Key to the World cards to use up the leftover CS credits/snacks. Yay for getting to use the leftover CS and snack credits! No use to let them go to waste.

YES, DTD buses really do suck!:thumbsup2
We've never tried WPE or EoS, either! We always end up at RFC, but I'm hoping to change that on our next trip.

I know I'm ready to get back to CBR when I get excited about pictures of the condiment bar:lmao:!

I don't know why they suck so badly but they do. We really like Rainforest Cafe and T-Rex so it's hard for us to try somethng new too.

I am right there with ya on missing the CBR. The condiment bar made me happy too. :rotfl:

I am glad to hear Wolfgang's is good. The prices were too high for us to chance trying it this year (with a budget of $40 per day for food for the two of us, we had to be careful). I can certainly understand you skipping Wolfgang's if you were on a budget. It's a little pricey. I am a fan of potato soup so if we ever give EOS a try, I'll have to order it.

Hey Lisa,
Great updates. (I'm a bit behind because I wasn't getting email notifications from the DIS) Anyway, I'm glad I'm caught up now. I hope your toe is healing and I'm deeply sorry about the passing of your neighbor.

I am not getting the emails from the Dis like I am supposed to either. I'd go from getting nothing to getting almost 200 emails in one day.

Over the course of the vacation, we bought more socks for John...to the tune of over $60! I couldn't believe we spent that on socks.

I enjoy the food court atmosphere at the CBR too. It goes right along with the laid back feeling the rest of the resort has.

Great update, Lisa! Your food at Wolfgang puck looks great! I have a question about the pizza.

Are those red things chunks of tomato? I'd love to eat there, but heaven forbid if the sauce isn't smooth for JJ.

Where's the picture of you in your new hat?

Congrats on the good bus karma! :thumbsup2 Too funny about Mr. Safe Bus Driver.

That pineapple coconut pastry looks great. I bet it was really good heated up!

Yep, those are little pieces of tomato on the pizza. They were just little lumps on top. The sauce was smooth though so I think if you were to ask them to leave off the tomatoes, JJ would be fine. I couldn't believe that Hunter didn't complain about the tomatoes becaue he doesn't like them one bit.

I think there's a couple of pictures of me in the hat coming up soon.

I am not a fan of cook fruits but the pastry was pretty darn good.

So glad you enjoyed WGPE as much as we did! ::yes:: Great update. I do wanna see your hat, though! popcorn::

Hat picture will definitely be in one of the next installments.

Everybody raves about the sandwiches at EoS so it was hard to make up our minds. But, when we saw that we would have to sit outside, we decided to go with WGP

I don't like eating outside. So I can totally understand!

As for driving to DTD, it's a very easy drive. Parking sometimes is not so easy. There have been times when dh has dropped us off to shop and drove around the whole time searching for a spot. It's rare, but it has happened to us around Christmas.

My first post on this forum!! Lisa, I read another trip report of yours on another forum (I think your trip from 2010 when you brought your mama!) and I loved it so I'm super excited to read this one!!!
