Excuse me while I vent...lol

Hi all, we are at HHI and have been for a week. While I really do enjoy this resort and have been coming here for 5 years now, there are a few minor details that are now on my last nerve. The whole pool chair saving is getting to the point of crazy. We were down by the pool this morning waiting to go kayaking and down came a woman a put her stuff out on all the tables with umbrellas then went back to her room. Taking one table fine, but there are only 4 tables by the pool, and to be so rude as to take all of them just blows my mind. Second, the refillable mug stations. If you don't want to buy a refillable mug don't. No one is making you buy one, but when I purchase 7 for my family it irks me that people are up there with any and every mug you can imagine filling them up. Sorry for the long rant we are having a great time I just needed to vent for a sec...Thanks!!

I'd be upset in both those situations too. IMHO - I think the lifeguard needs to help that woman out and consolidate her belongings to one place so she can find them. Perhaps behind the lifeguard chair.

As for the Refillable mugs - I agree 100%. It's only 3 of us, and I only buy 2 mugs, for the kids, but I still feel the heat for the cheats. I wish they had the refill scanner in place at all resorts, although I am not a fan of the chip - would much prefer a scan bar like at the water-parks.

Have you been in the ocean? If so, how is it? I don't see many people talking about swimming down there often. I miss those SC beaches.

Justifiable "vent" as far as I am concerned. DW and I will be at HHI for the first time this October. Any tips on what an old married couple might do for entertainment, meals, etc.?

I agree with you, they really should have the scanner for the cups like they have at the water parks. Yes we went to the beach twice and in the ocean. The water is warm and calm. There were alot of reports on jellyfish but thankfully we didn't encounter any.

I really wondered how the pool chair business was in the summer. We were there at Easter and on Easter afternoon, when I went to the pool, there was only one available chaise. Good thing DH wasn't with me (he was at the PGA event)! As you can see, all the chairs around me are empty, but "saved". Well, I was there for 3 hours and NO ONE showed up! And that was just in April-I'd hate to imagine how bad it must be in the summer. You definitely have my sympathy.

Share your concerns with the management staff and also write DVC Member Satisfaction team.

Only when we voice our concerns to those with the power to change them will there be any hope for change.

I am sure I would have had to ask this woman what in the heck did she think she was doing.

A new mug system is being trialled at WDW and due to the DDP including mugs with the basic plain, I expect something in place before 2012.
