What are some of the best excursions that you can do with kids in Grand Cayman and Key West? Our ds is 10 & dd is 7. Would love to hear from some of you about some of the things you did in these ports.

Thanks,

STINGRAY CITY with Capt. Marvins.

My best excursion ever, on any island in any port on any cruise.

And i'm just a kid at heart.

But My DD's loved it too, as did everyone else there and seemingly, The Rays too.

Enjoy.

Totally agree jgalecap---best excursion we ever did!!! We cannot wait to re-do Captain Marvin's again on our December cruise. We will be taking our then DD6 & DS5 who both also cannot wait to see and swim with the stingrays.

We did the stingray excursion through DCL. It was great. BUT....
my dd's age 9 & 7 at the time were not tall enough to stand in the water. They had to hang onto someone's back the whole time. My oldest was freaked out at first and we had to put her back on the boat. My youngest LOVED it. I would love to do it again when they are tall enough to stand.

We all really loved it. But if you go, just know you will have to carry one if not both on your back.

:)

Not if they are good swimmers and comfortable in the water. When we last did this, there were children in the water without being held by their parents. I think it depends on the child.

It must depend on the tide. We did a Capt. Marvin's trip to Stingray City just 10 days ago (booked it directly on the island that morning) and the huge sandbar was only about 18" deep at low tide. My 5 year old daughter got in and loved playing in the warm clear water all by herself. The stingrays did not venture into the really shallow water much, which was fine with her. She liked to look at them, but did not like them coming too close. Our best excursion of the cruise, by far. My 7 year old son also loved it. Quite a place.

Yet another Captain Marvin's fan. The best excursion we ever took (tho a close second was our private daysail in St. Thomas) and I can't wait to go again this year.

Definitely the highlight of the Western cruise!

P.S. My dd was only 3.5 and we had to drag her back into the boat. She would have stayed out there all day. Of course, yesterday I had to fight her desire to bring a cricket into the car with us, so she is an animal lover....
