Excursions: Age Restrictions?

How strict are they on age restrictions? If it says 8, will a 7 year old who has less than a month to her 8th birthday be ok or do they say no regardless?

Well ... it was our experience that they were pretty strict. I called to book the Golden Eagle Catamaran excursion for our recent 7night Eastern cruise. The excursion is ages 5 and up and DD is 4 (3 months shy of 5). DH and I were planning on going just the 2 of us and when i called to book it, the CM said "Oh no. You can't do that excursion. It is ages 5 and up and you have a 4 year old in your group." When i told her it would just be DH and I she said ok and booked it for us. Not sure if i had tried to haggle with her if there would have been any lee-way.
