Exclusive Baby Gorilla Photos! (plus bonus Trip Report) - June '15 - completed 10/23 - Page 31

This made me laugh...because Disney would RFID us right down to our underwear if they could lol
Yeah, I'm wondering how long our Libertarian iced tea utopia will remain standing!
I'm not sure I could...haven't been on this since I was a kid...trying to decide if I'd be able to do it now...motion sickness seems to have gotten much worse with age...
I think I'm actually better on Mission: Space than I am on the Teacups, or even the Carousel. I think that's because you can't see anything outside the vehicle...with the exception of the Martian landscape, of course :)
That's a big bag...must get a little sore after a few hours...
I've looked at my shoulder at the end of the night and wondered how I got sunburn. Wait, that's from the bag strap :)
We take four bottled waters and/or Gatorades, so it's really heavy until we drink those. Not as bad later. Amazing how much weight they add.
I can certainly relate to that...my kids fight constantly...it's a real drag.
I recall being the same way. Is this some sort of cosmic payback? ;)
I had sworn off Mission Space....but the last time we rode i do not believe it had 2 options. I was catapulted into space and clearly did not have adequate training for that mission! I was "off" for a good 4 hours afterwards. So the green side is the side that doesn't make you "green"? Do tell!
Yes, the "Green Team" is the "less intense mission". Basically, it's the same ride, but it doesn't spin. You still get the claustrophobia, but not the nausea.
We rode MS for years before finally trying Orange Team, and now, I can't go back to Green. Orange just feels more authentic, though I can't say that based on the personal experience of actually flying to Mars.

Great pics of CBR! I love the lights hanging over the food court.

Glad you made your Mission Space FP+! I can't ride that ride. I know I'd barf.

Those clouds look ominous, but you've lucked out so far.

Lunch looks good, especially the deserts! Yum!

Oh, the sibling fighting. My kids aren't too terrible yet, but I know it's coming. I dread it. I remember my sister and I fighting terribly.

I love Caribbean El Cen- um, Centertown! Only thing it's missing is Bell Services and a front desk :)

Glad you made your Mission Space FP+! I can't ride that ride. I know I'd barf.

As I said above, I think it's better than some spinning rides because you can't actually see outside. You should try it!

Those clouds look ominous, but you've lucked out so far.

I hope it holds out! The WDW puddles hold some disturbing surprises, as I've learned.

Lunch looks good, especially the deserts! Yum!

I wish Epcot's QS restaurants delivered to MK and HS ;)

Oh, the sibling fighting. My kids aren't too terrible yet, but I know it's coming. I dread it. I remember my sister and I fighting terribly.

Get used to saying, "I don't want either of you near each other for the rest of the afternoon!"....then getting upset when one sneaks over to harass the other.

So excited that I found a new Nilla trip report!

Don't think I have posted on your TRs before, but I have enjoyed your previous reports, so can't wait to see what adventures are in store for your family with this year's trip.

I am impressed at your quick, successful handling of fast pass plus (took me way longer the first time & only time I did it). I am also a fan of the Vikings and have grieved the absence of a purple magic band so am thankful for an explanation finally.

Looking forward to hearing your reactions to Caribbean Beach Resort, as that is our planned resort for next trip (after 3 consecutive visits to Port Orleans Riverside - so I know what it's like to have a favorite and be uncertain about trying a new one).

Anyway, back to reading more... Thanks for taking the time to write your report. :)

Thanks! I'm excited you found it as well ;)

I am impressed at your quick, successful handling of fast pass plus (took me way longer the first time & only time I did it).

This was my second time. Last year was a mess. Not the most user-friendly system out there, but it could be worse. I think they ironed out a lot of the bugs that it had last year.

I am also a fan of the Vikings and have grieved the absence of a purple magic band so am thankful for an explanation finally.

I was already angry over not being able to find a Vikings Vinylmation figure last year, so this was only adding to the frustration :)

Getting excited about eventually getting to see Teddy Bridgewater in the post-Super Bowl parade at the Magic Kingdom, though. Hey, one can dream!

Looking forward to hearing your reactions to Caribbean Beach Resort, as that is our planned resort for next trip (after 3 consecutive visits to Port Orleans Riverside - so I know what it's like to have a favorite and be uncertain about trying a new one).

We spent quite a bit of time at the resort, so there will be a lot more text - and even more photos - of CBR. As you can probably tell so far, we weren't disappointed :)

Thanks again for joining in!

Great report!! And because my codependent-dog-loving-heart can't take the suspense, did Inky run off while you were gone? ;)

How about this?

Nice pic! Who doesn't love the Haunted Mansion, especially at night because you know its WAT scarier at night, right? :rotfl2:

Since they're the best, Kristin and the kids agree to all ride together, allowing me to enjoy it alone. My favorite way to ride it. My Mansion and I. Joined. One.

What a great family you have! ::yes::

the ride stops right before we hit the Hitchhiking Ghosts part....just like last year. I get what I think is a pretty cool photo of a barely-visible raven...

...

!

At first I thought this was a joke and then I was scrolling down and actually DID see the red eyes. So Yay!

Fun updates. I suspect I may have been more than two behind....*sigh* Hey -it's a start.

So you guys actually arrived at a park an hour AFTER it opened. :faint: Stop the world - I want to get off. :rotfl: I guess after multiple trips you are allowed one indescretion of sorts.

Lunch looks super yummy, but what happened to the picture of the quiche? Major fail. :faint: Just kidding!

Sort of. Kristin's parents took her up to their lake house, and she got so far out in into the lake chasing ducks that they had to try to paddleboat out to get her. She did come back eventually, though, and was never out of sight. She's done that before. She REALLY wants those ducks :)

Thanks for joining in!

What a great family you have! ::yes::

I DO prefer it at night ;)

And thanks, they're awesome! I certainly enjoy it most when it's just the Mansion and me :)

At first I thought this was a joke and then I was scrolling down and actually DID see the red eyes. So Yay!

Yeah, I was happy with that shot! Our dark photos usually aren't good, as everyone knows, but I think the near-blackness of this one gives it something.

Fun updates. I suspect I may have been more than two behind....*sigh* Hey -it's a start.

I bet I'm even farther behind on your Trip Report :rolleyes1
So you guys actually arrived at a park an hour AFTER it opened. :faint: Stop the world - I want to get off. :rotfl: I guess after multiple trips you are allowed one indescretion of sorts.

Oh, it won't be just one. I don't know who we are anymore, to be honest.

Lunch looks super yummy, but what happened to the picture of the quiche? Major fail. :faint: Just kidding!

I blame the girls! Dylan and I got photos of our food :)

I'm actually surprised we didn't get photos, because we were really vigilant about that this year.

Hoping to get another round of updates posted tonight. We may be hitting Dorney Park tonight, which CLEARLY isn't Disney, but is the best thing we have here in our neck of the woods. Gotta settle sometimes.

Great updates!

Smushed lizard in your shoe. Blech!

SDMT - such a cute, fun ride even if it is super short. We have an 8am ADR at BOG on a day the MK opens at 9am. I'm hoping we can ride it a couple times after breakfast and before the crowds make it there. We have a FP+ for it but would switch it for something else.

I have some catching up to do!

Glad you guys liked the Mine Train! So many people are really hard on it and it's really fun. It's not a thrill ride and I'm glad it's not. And the mine effects are so beautiful!

Haunted Mansion is even more fun at night, I think. I always get stopped in the ballroom, which I could never complain about.

OMG at the lizard! I wish I could have seen my own reaction to reading it, because I know for a fact it was pure horror.

Experiencing more Caribbean Beach envy... it's so bright and colourful!

Love the girls' car at Test Track! :rotfl:I ran out of time on one of our rides because I spent too long making my car the perfect shade of purple with fire on the side. Priorities.

Lovely Epcot photos! We've never done lunch at the place in France, but it looks really good. We usually opt to just snack our way through the Showcase whenever we end up out there.

Great updates! I never get bored of your storytelling style!

I'm so glad you guys liked 7DMT! It was a gateway drug for coasters for my little guy; he's still mad he was too short for Everest.

I have some catching up to do!

Yeah, what the heck?

Glad you guys liked the Mine Train! So many people are really hard on it and it's really fun. It's not a thrill ride and I'm glad it's not. And the mine effects are so beautiful!

I SO LOVED the shadows marching up the hill. And the dancing animatronics. And, well, everything.

Haunted Mansion is even more fun at night, I think. I always get stopped in the ballroom, which I could never complain about.

I could deal with that. I've only been stopped near the clock, in the graveyard scene, and by the Hitchhikers.

OMG at the lizard! I wish I could have seen my own reaction to reading it, because I know for a fact it was pure horror.

I would wish that experience on no one! It was bad, and I have a very high tolerance for grossness.

Experiencing more Caribbean Beach envy... it's so bright and colourful!

Love that resort! I have a lot more pictures on the way of it, too. I walked the entire resort, including the dangerous section where the pirates live.

Love the girls' car at Test Track! :rotfl:I ran out of time on one of our rides because I spent too long making my car the perfect shade of purple with fire on the side. Priorities.

That's messed up. Disney should give sufficient time to excel beyond mediocrity.

Lovely Epcot photos! We've never done lunch at the place in France, but it looks really good. We usually opt to just snack our way through the Showcase whenever we end up out there.

We did that later in the trip. Stay tuned!

Great updates! I never get bored of your storytelling style!

Glad someone can say that. Thanks! I'm actually finding myself having to be careful that I don't rip off your style. True story.

I'm so glad you guys liked 7DMT! It was a gateway drug for coasters for my little guy; he's still mad he was too short for Everest.

I heard a story once about a family putting ice cream bars in their kid's shoes to get him to reach the height requirement for Splash Mountain. I think it may be worth trying. Though, in that particular tale, the CMs got suspicious as the watched the kid slowly get shorter :)

OMG that lizard! I think I would have passed right out!

Once again, love all the CBR pics! Love that whole Old Port Royale complex, the store, the food court, I really like how it is like an outside market.

I love the pool complex too, it looks very similar to what it did before the refurb but they just added more to it.

I like the new design part of Test track too but I think I did like the old ride theming better.

Your lunch looked yummy! We went in there and looked at their choices last year but it was so crowded when we went that there weren't any open tables so we left.

OMG a live lizard even 10 ft near me grosses me out, let alone a dead one in a shoe! I would have absolutely died!!! :crazy2:
Great update, as usual. I'm glad you guys enjoyed 7DMT!!! I can't wait to see what comes next

I'm really curious to hear your assessment regarding how Caribbean Beach holds up to your old favorite Coronado Springs! Sounds like you guys are enjoying it so far. I've stayed at both but it's easily been a decade since my last Coronado stay, and even longer since I was at Caribbean Beach...

What a successful start to your trip! I love how rain clears out the crowds. Nice photos, as usual. I have to try 'Ohana sometime. Looks good!

And Kristin is simply amazing! Well done handling the room & the fast passes! Boo to feeling sick at Disney though! I hope there is no more of that this trip.

And EEEEK to a squishy dead lizard in your shoe!!!! I like to think I can roll with the punches pretty well and stay happy at Disney, but I don't know how I'd survive that.

Very fun trip report :) It took me a few days to catch up. I had a dream that you went on a Disney cruise and did a DC trip report. Probably wishful thinking ;)

I think I'm actually better on Mission: Space than I am on the Teacups, or even the Carousel. I think that's because you can't see anything outside the vehicle...with the exception of the Martian landscape, of course :)

We rode MS for years before finally trying Orange Team, and now, I can't go back to Green. Orange just feels more authentic, though I can't say that based on the personal experience of actually flying to Mars.
I work in a hospital lab and now that I know what it feels like to spin in a centrifuge, I actually feel sorry for the tubes of blood I have to work with on a daily basis.

Glad you made your Mission Space FP+! I can't ride that ride. I know I'd barf
Since your trip is before mine I think you should try the Green side of MS and report back. I told dh that we should give it a try and I don't want him to say, "I told you so" if I get sick. lol

I'm guessing you are more likely to see Teddy Bridgewater in a parade at MK than we are witnessing Nick Foles......o_O

Once again, love all the CBR pics! Love that whole Old Port Royale complex, the store, the food court, I really like how it is like an outside market.
The food selections were great, too. Lots of options. Very happy with it, and we ended up eating there several times. Stay tuned!
I love the pool complex too, it looks very similar to what it did before the refurb but they just added more to it.
I'll have to look for older photos of it, since this was the first I've seen of it!
Your lunch looked yummy! We went in there and looked at their choices last year but it was so crowded when we went that there weren't any open tables so we left.
You do have to get their kind of early, or get lucky. Seating is VERY limited.
OMG a live lizard even 10 ft near me grosses me out, let alone a dead one in a shoe! I would have absolutely died!!! :crazy2:
Great update, as usual. I'm glad you guys enjoyed 7DMT!!! I can't wait to see what comes next
I can assure you what comes next does not involve dead lizards. That was an isolated incident. Hopefully forever!
We'll get to that later. It was a frequent discussion for us during the trip. Stay tuned!
What a successful start to your trip! I love how rain clears out the crowds. Nice photos, as usual. I have to try 'Ohana sometime. Looks good!
It's great! I don't know why I soured on it at one point. I really can't find anything to complain about anymore when it comes to that place.
And Kristin is simply amazing! Well done handling the room & the fast passes! Boo to feeling sick at Disney though! I hope there is no more of that this trip.
Yeah, I've gone through stomach problems in Disney enough times to feel for her. She actually did get sick after 'Ohana, though it was a stomach bug and not the food's fault.

And EEEEK to a squishy dead lizard in your shoe!!!! I like to think I can roll with the punches pretty well and stay happy at Disney, but I don't know how I'd survive that.
It required a lot of redirection of thoughts that night. "Just forget about it until we get back to CBR and I can wash my lizard foot."
Very fun trip report :) It took me a few days to catch up. I had a dream that you went on a Disney cruise and did a DC trip report. Probably wishful thinking ;)
We've talked about doing a cruise and heard great things about them, so you never know!

BTW, if you're dreaming about my Trip Reports, you should probably lay off my Trip Reports for a while ;)

Just kidding! Keep reading, please!
I work in a hospital lab and now that I know what it feels like to spin in a centrifuge, I actually feel sorry for the tubes of blood I have to work with on a daily basis.
I bet the tubes of blood wouldn't mind it so much if they were being talked through the process by Gary Sinese.

Since your trip is before mine I think you should try the Green side of MS and report back. I told dh that we should give it a try and I don't want him to say, "I told you so" if I get sick. lol
Orange Team is the "more intense" mission. You should probably know that, so you don't go into the wrong one :)
I'm guessing you are more likely to see Teddy Bridgewater in a parade at MK than we are witnessing Nick Foles......o_O
Hey, you got one with Kurt Warner, so you're not allowed to complain! At least not to a Vikings fan ;)

On the off chance the Vikings ever do win the big game, I'd love to be in MK for the parade. Then again, seeing Mickey and a Vikings player coming down Main Street could be overwhelming for me, emotionally, so maybe it's better if it doesn't happen.

I like Foles. I think he got a bum deal in Philly. He could pan out in STL.
oops, double post.
No problem! It actually makes my TR look more popular than it is, so it's all good :)

I SHOULD be posting updates tonight, but you never know. I'll try!

Thanks for reading, everyone, as always :)
