I have to share with people who will understand. I am so incredibly excited.
Some history:
In 2010, my husband agreed to a DVC contract. No coercing on my part. I just told him I would like a small one and he said it makes sense financially. This was really for me and our daughter. He loves me dearly and knows how much I enjoy my Disney trips. He likes Disney movies quite a bit and has favorite lines from most of the movies he quotes often, but he is not a fan of the parks. He can do a ride once and then he is good for the trip. If he visits a park once, he does not care if he goes again on the same trip. Going to Disney every 5 years is plenty for him.
Mostly, my husband is one of the most laid-back people I know, but he does get irritated by rude guests. (people that throw elbows and shoulders and mostly those that ride your back while waiting in line) He never really says anything, but I can see it on his face when he gets aggravated.
He is also not a fan of crowds, but he has a lot of patience when it comes to waiting in line.
We went using the incentive points DVC gave us in January 2011. He went with me again in December 2011, again in December 2012 and my in-laws took the whole family in June 2013. The in-laws also took us to DLR in April 2016...that is A LOT of Disney parks for my husband. He likes the size and convenience of DLR better, however we get more for our points at our home resort in Florida.
My daughter and I were just there in November/December 2016. This was her high school graduation gift (what she wanted). We said we were not going to go back for a while for various reasons. Also, my Disney partner (daughter) will be in college when we usually go. We visit that first week of December....I am a Christmas nut! And, my daughter hates going in the summer or any peak time. (cannot say I blame her)
Anyhow, I was gifted 2 park hoppers for an entire week at WDW. But who to go with? My baby girl will be in college. My only sibling who likes Disney will have a new baby. My cousin, who is like my sister, cannot go because it is a busy time for the business they own. My husband is not a fan of Disney parks. My MIL would love to go, but I am certain that would not turn out well. Looks like a solo trip in the making.
I was telling my husband that I was going to book a solo trip to use the tickets and he looked at me and said, "Sweetheart, go ahead and add me to that reservation". I must have looked stunned. He smiled and said, "I want to go spend a week with you, just the two of us". I asked him if he was serious and he said of course. Anyhow, I was so happy it moved me to tears. For my husband to say he wants to go to Disney is huge. I know it is because he loves me and he just wants some time with me. He is also protective and would prefer I not go alone, although he knows I can handle it.
I told him a few days later how much that touched my heart because it is his love for me that made him want to go. Has nothing to do with taking a trip, but because time together is important to us. I love, love, love that my husband is my best friend and we do everything together. For him to want to do this with me is very special.

I am so excited and I am really looking forward to this. I will miss our daughter like crazy, but this will be a very special vacation.
