Excited about Aulani?

I do not plan on purchasing DVC there, but I am BUSTING to go there. I have been to Ko Olina to the JW marriot next door in 1996. It is AMAZING there. SO excited.

I actually want to go shortly after it opens. Not for the official opening, but shortly thereafter.

Where are they selling it????

DVC Units in Aulani went on sale yesterday, July 1st. We bought 250 points so we could receive the discounted price of $102 per point. Points after the initial discount period will be $120 per point.

Check out the DVC site.

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood. I don't need a time-share. I just need a room.

But thank you so much for the info!! :)

Strangely enough, I'm not excited about Aulani. Possibly because the likelihood of Val & I staying there is slim. We will go to Hawaii some day, but since we live on the East coast its not going to be an every couple of year thing. Plus, I've got a ton (~400K) of Marriott points so when we do go it will likely be using Marriott points.

I will say that the place looks gorgeous in the artist renderings.

I'm excited! I won't be buying there, but I definitely will be visiting. Now if they would've built on Kauai I would have bought.

I'm excited that it's there because I like choice, but I won't be in line to buy points.

I'll be very excited when we get a chance to use it someday. :)

I'm sure it's absolutely gorgeous, but I've never been all that interested in going to Hawaii. It's so far to get there and I hear it's incredibly expensive. There are tons of other places I'd rather go on vacation.

It really looks beautiful. We want to visit but not sure if we will buy into it.
I have Hawaii on my bucket list for sure... I have always wanted to go.
It looks so lovely.
I am not sure if I would only stay at Aulani if I got to go I would have to explore the islands. I need to do more research for a future trip.
I hope I do not get flamed for this but I have also heard that if you are not a native from Hawaii that you can run into some folks who are just plain rude because you are a tourist. I have heard this from several people. It doesn't discourage me from wanting to go... I just would like to know more about that.

We are excited to stay there and only hope we can get something at the 7 month booking window!

We lived there for a few years when DH was stationed at Pearl Harbor. In my experience they are overall very friendly people, but some do harbor some resentment towards the military for taking over the island, which honestly it's hard to blame them for that. They are usually more than nice towards tourists, because they bring in the money.

We are seriously considering buying at Aulani so that DS can have a piece of "home" since he was born there. Hoping that they offer a cruise special when we go at the end of October, if not at least we will still be able to snag the intro price. But even if we don't buy, we are super excited about Aulani!!

They need to finish that place so they can get working on whatever they are planning here in Washington DC!

DW and I spent our honeymoon in Hawaii for two weeks enjoying three islands. We'll be back for our 25th anniversary at Aulani in 5 years. Being east coasters as well, it will be most likely our next and last trip to the islands. We are definately excited about it but it unlikely we would add a DVC contract there.

Same here. As an easterner I'm really curious about this property. :)

The idea of Aulani sounds awesome, but the reality of it just doesn't sing to me. The chance that I'm going to visit Hawaii within the next 5-10 years is pretty slim; there are many places in the world that are higher on my list of things to visit. When I join DVC, and I'm positive I will, LOL, I'll definitely have to check in to the points and rates at Aulani. :)

I'm excited and planning a trip for 2012 however won't buy there. I'm another east coaster whom won't be making that trip to often with a family of 5. :goodvibes
