I don't put up my decorations until the first week of Dec. I have most of my gifts bought, just have to buy for DH and my mom.

I have most of my gifts set as well. With my huge list, I have to organize things better. I think I will try to do some things tomorrow. I really enjoy being able to see the Christmas lights on, during the day, and during the evenings. .

Too many to list...(HUGE family!)

My Mom's best potato salad (2 aunts try and copy but Mom's is still best)..

My DFIL's cole slaw and german potato salad (HE has shared with me tho, so I try to duplicate!)

Besides my Mom's, my deceased Aunt made the best shrimp macaroni salad, and thankfully, she shared with her DD (my cousin), so I still have this once or twice a year, and tried this past summer to duplicate also. Mom is still my fall-back tho when I'm too lazy to make it.

My departed Cappy (grandpa), was THE BAKER, from scratch, when I was a kid, and no one seems to have been given that talent - he had 9 kids!

So many people, so many recipes, TOO MUCH FOOD, so little time! WEIGH TOO MANY POUNDS, TOO!

My sister is the head baker at a resturant and she will bring home pies once in a while. I love her pies because I am too lazy to make the crust from scratch, plus they use lard.

A cousins mom (she is not an aunt, this is a cousin by marriage) makes great potato salad.

I used to like an aunts macaronni salad until I started making it myself, now I like mine better. She uses mircal whip, I use mayo.


Other then thoes 3 everyone loves my cooking/baking better. (not being snooty, they tell me all the time).

My sister makes the best lasagna in the world. Better even than my mom's and my mom's was pretty awesome. She's also a great baker. I'm a pretty good baker myself.

Me.......not that many people in the family that we ever see.
No one else even cooks or bakes.
They love when I visit.
I love baking cookies, but also cheesecake and lots of different salads and casseroles too.

My mom - potato salad, rutabegas

My grandma (deceased) - fried oysters, succotash

My aunt - chicken pie casserole, cheese nip chicken (I've got her recipes but somehow, even though they taste good, they never taste the same).

I hate to say it but I'm the best baker in my family. Fav's are apple pie, sugar free cakes, and many other baked things I'm inclined to make when the mood strikes me.
