9/28:
What is the most happiest moment you have ever had in your entire life?

9/28: I think I haven't had it yet.

Have fun Patsy!

Belle & The Beast & Mickey - because we love them... why else?

Not sure about the holiday...

I have a couple of happiest moments...
the births of my children,
The 1st trip to WDW for each of my children
the 1st trip to WDW for my DH when he got picked to play the Beast at Belle's Storytime. this is probably my absolute favorite memory!!!! - I cried!! I know it would be his favorite moment! He still gets emotion talking about it. He has been picked a couple other times, but the 1st is always the best!!

I would invite Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy to a tea party

Wouldn't change any holiday

My wedding was the happiest day of my life, I married my best friend. Second would be the birth of my 3 sons.

9/27- I'd like do away with Labor Day and instead get the day after the Superbowl off. Just my 2 cents. :goodvibes

9/28- When I was told that my son was going to live. He was diagnosed with an omphalacele sp? while I was pregnant and I was told that he may die in utero or shortly after birth. He needed surgery at 2 days but the condition was not nearly as bad as originally thought. His birthday was my happiest day. He is now almost 12.

How's your ant bites, Patsy?

 Hi everyone. I was so tired, and I am now trying to catch up with everything.

Susan my ant bites are now better. I am so glad that we do not have red ants here at our house. We were at the park, and I along with many of the kids had gotten bit. My son was crying that night because of the bites that he had gotten as well as from the little plants with thorns on them. But we had a nice time at the beach, and was able to see Diamond Head in the background.

I have been thinking alot about Halloween so here is a Halloween QOTD-

Do you decorate your house for the Halloween season? If so, how?

I have been wanting to try those luminary bags, but not sure how safe they are. No one comes trick or treating where we live so it would just be a decoration for the kids, and our family to see, so maybe I can just make them, and light them for a bit. If the weather is nice tomorrow, I will have the kids stuff these giant pumpkin decorated garbage bags with newspapers, and/or leaves for decoration. :thumbsup2

I never really went all out with decorations, just a few yard decoration and a pumpkin on the porch.

As for kids trick or treating, we live in a BIG development so we don't always get a lot of kids (unless the parents are willing to drive up and down the roads) plus the weather plays a big part in that as well.

When my boys were younger I would get more into Halloween, now that they are all grown and in college I really don't decorate any longer. Lately all I do is place my light up pumpkin on the front porch. I love seeing the kids that come to our door all dressed up, the small ones are so cute.

Don't decorate "scary" like I used to. Now it's more "fallish" to take me to Thanksgiving. Sometime between now and then DH should pick one of the last nice days of the year and hang Christmas lights. Sometimes he puts it off and ends up doing it in the snow or bitter cold. :)

Love Halloween. We used to decorate all the time, but when we moved out here (23 years ago), I only do a little for us. We get NO trick-or-treaters.
I hope I can start decorating again at the new house.....I will be there this Halloween, so we'll see how many kids come. We are in a large development but at the end of a dead end street.

I have luminaries. I am going to use the little plastic battery powered tea lights.

Sounds like the position of our house--cul de sac in a development. Most don't venture down our way, except the dads who know DH hands out beer to the parents along with candy to the kids!

I made these (Martha Stewart) cutouts for my windows years ago. A witch, a man with a crow on his shoulder, bats and cats. THey're black and look like someone's in the window from the street. Freaked out my new neighbor one year with the guy/crow. I used to have a pic...I'll post it if I find it.

We don't really do anything for Halloween in the UK so we personally don't decorate or recognise the day.

LOL...when the kids were little and we lived in the other house, 200+ kids, the guys would go door to door with their wine glasses ;)

Maybe word will spread after this year. I am going to hand out full size candy bars....so we'll see.

I've never decorated for Holloween, but our old place was on a dead end street, and there were no kids in the area (other than ours). Our new place is a very kid friendly area, and will carve up some pumpkins and put them out front of the house. Have no idea how many kids we are going to have, since some new kids moved into the neighbourhood (besides ours). Will have DH take the kids out trick or treating, and I'll stay home and take care of the hounds and the trick or treaters. Have a great day everyone!

Trish

Love Halloween! Since all the homes are on big lots here, we don't get any kids coming by. We always took our kids somewhere else, neighborhoods where the houses were closer together. A couple of years we went to a neighboring town where my SIL lived. One of the houses there gave out cans of soda. That was a big hit with the thirsty trick or treaters. We used to make our kids walk far more than they wanted. There was no way we were going home without at least half a bag of candy. :rotfl:

I've never really decorated much for Halloween. We always made jack-o-lanterns for the front porch. Looked really cool from the street. All you could see was the carved face where the candle showed through, not a sign of the pumpkin. I would decorate the top of my buffet that near the front door but don't know if I will this year or not.

I bought 8 of those large Mickey head orange/black Halloween light up posts and want to put them out this weekend. (2 sets of 4)
We use to decorate up big time for Halloween. When we were much younger. :lmao: Now I settle for lights and easy stuff. ;)
I also bought a Tinker Belle lighted pumpkin.

Easy pumpkin decorating idea --
Paint a large round pumpkin white. When fully dry, with black paint, paint Jack Skellington's face on one side. (He's pretty simple, and yet so easily recognizable!)
Stick a Santa hat on Jack.
Viola! Always a hit. :thumbsup2

I have also laid a Christmas wreath flat on a table and set Jack in the middle too. :cool2:

Wow, another month has passed and it seemed like September just came, and went. Now comes the months with all the major holidays-Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Valentines..... so today's QOTD is-

Which major holiday that is coming up are you most looking forward to?

I love Christmas, with all the decorations, shopping and gift giving, my second choice would be Thanksgiving.
