Oh...chips and dip are my fav. Chips and salsa are ok. Love BBQ kettle cooked chips...all of which are not what I should be eating!! Which is why I buy what the kids like--then there's no temptation.
I love hummus. I could just eat that, no chips needed.
At our local grocery store I buy a dip that is an avocado and hummus mix. That's pretty good as I love both.
After thinking of the other Disney related thread I really have a hankering for the bread and dip at Maya Grill.....
Lynne, I am originally from Amish country in northern IN. Man, those Amish can cook and bake. I really miss eating at Das Essenhaus in Middlebury.
My Essenhaus favorite was always the German Chocolate pie. DH always had the raspberry cream pie.
Oh, and their roast beef and mashed taters. The best ever... And their sweet and sour salad dressing... and their....
Oh... I think I may have to place an order.
Gotta get the salad dressing. And I forgot about the Amish peanut butter spread. (Theirs is part marshmallow creme and part peanut butter.) Sounds "odd" but it is good.
Lynne -- do you know of an Amish style place that ships?
Yesterday's storm knocked out my internet for the day so I'm behind a question.
Love dips and chips but shouldn't eat them. The doctor told me I needed to be on a low fat diet. But if I were to eat dips and chips, my first choice would be Fritos with bean dip, followed by Ruffles with french onion dip, tortilla chips and queso, and tortilla chips and salsa.
Plans for August? Well, to begin with, moving Carol into her dorm room. Going to my nephew's wedding. Taking my parents to their various doctor appointments. Looking for a job. Just to name a few.
August is getting started with a bang--we're celebrating my niece Dana's 7th birthday on August 1st. (her actual birthday is Aug. 22nd). So my sister & her family, and my other sister are traveling to NY from VA. They'll arrive sometime tomorrow. I'm taking 4 of the 5 kids to see the new Harry Potter movie tomorrow after the visitors arrive, then we'll have a pool party with lots of great food. We might get together on Sunday too. The visitors leave Sunday or Monday morning.
Next Wednesday, Dad & I are going to see the NY nieces perform in High School Musical 2--they have small parts in their summer theater camp production.
Then Dad & I are going to VA the weekend of August 15th to have a last get-together before summer is over.
Then the rest of the month is open--but I never know what will come up!
