*Exchangers-Come and join us for the QOTD & Chat w/us* Part 3-Our New Thread

What are some things that you enjoy doing over the hot spring, and summer months?

Here in south texas it usually gets to be 105-110 degrees and the heat indeed is worse plus the humidity makes it feel like you are drowning. Therefore I stick to indoor activities...shopping, crafting, cooking, tv

I forgot to add I'm new to the DISboards and still finding my way around here. HI!

Glad to see you both joining us Angela, and Samantha :goodvibes

I like to watch my kids play outdoors, bbq, garden, shop, ....

Do you have any songs that just takes you back to a special time, occasion, makes you remember someone? Ex. Maybe hearing a certain song reminds you of your prom.

I have a couple songs that remind me of stuff, but I remember smells more and link them to memories. A certain perfume, food smell, etc. there comes a time in the fall when the first cool front comes in that makes me say "ah it smells like marching band again!"

I have a few songs that remind me of times in my life, but they're usually negative memories, so I avoid those songs.

Although Bohemian Rhapsody will forever remind me of being at band camp. Whenever we would be transported from the training centre to the school we practiced at, we've all sing Bohemian Rhapsody at the tops of our lungs. Man, we must have annoyed that bus driver.

But I'm going to agree with oodalally... scents trigger memories more.

If you were to choose three types of magazines to purchase, what types would it be? Ex. Cooking, hobby magazine, .... or you can even name a particular magazine.

I have always like cooking ones.....Taste of Home and their whole line of others. I used to subscribe to them all
Also D23......love that one!

I would have to agree on a cooking and crafting magazine.
I really like the food network magazine.
I'm not sure for my third. Could I pick one of those books of logic puzzles? They ARE sold in the magazine section

What are your favorite fried foods? Ex. fried chicken, fried shrimp, ..... ?

Don't judge me.....BUT.....in Austin, Texas we have a place called Lucy's Fried Chicken. Aside from having the most AMAZING chicken I have EVER tasted they have fried DEVILED EGGS. At first it sounded gross, but I wanted to say I did it. I tried it and it was AMAZING!

PS, something neat I learned from the waiter there.....He set down our chicken and said "I need to get you some honey" I couldnt figure out what he meant, but just said ok. He came back and set it down and I asked what for. He then explained that we needed to mix some honey with some of the hot sauces around the room (they have a large variety). We did it and it was sooo good. The sweet of the honey +the spicy of the hot sauce+the salty of the chicken work so well together!

I like honey with chicken, and mixed in with butter.

I like-tempura, fried oysters, fried shrimp, ...

I love good southern fried chicken
Egg rolls
Chicken fried rice
