*Exchangers-Come and join us for the QOTD & Chat w/us* Part 3-Our New Thread

Great ideas everyone. I like to get gifts, but do gift cards as well when I am not able to find that perfect gift, or think that the recipent might prefer that better.

For Christmas, our extended family does Secret Santa :santa: gifts for the adults. Participants are men, and women, and range in the ages of 19-20 to 70 something. So the gift really depends on who you will be purchasing the actual gift from. I know that some others on here does Secret Santa gifts within their families... so todays QOTD is-

What sort of general gift ideas do you have for others who participate in Secret Santa gift exchanges. Let's say in the $20.00 range.

For general gifts, perhaps a nice ornament or other holiday decoration. Pier 1 comes to mind for that type of general gift. Or, a pretty vase or a serving bowl. Check out Crate & Barrel--they have an outlet store (even online) that has some good deals.

For guys, I'd go with some sort of gadget. Every time we walk into Brookstone, my DH always sees something of interest.

I like hearing all these different ideas. Wish we had a Brookstone here. My DH is also a gadget person. Maybe its a guy thing?

I can't wait to see whose names, my family, and I pull.

Last year, there were gift cards, a snack basket, and other things based upon that person.

Are there certain words that people say which they mispronounce that drives you nuts?

Ex. On the Long John Silvers commercial, and many times on the Food Network, they say panko wrong.

Aight- I'm behind here on my questions, so I'll do 3! :rotfl2:

When you have a difficult time trying to find a gift for someone, what do you usually get them? Ex. do you go with cash/gift card....?

If I can't find a gift.... which is rare.... I have a closet full of gifts :lmao: I like to be prepared, but they are mostly kid gifts- so if I can't find an appropriate gift, I go the gift card route. Something like Target, where they have lots of dif stuff.

Hmmmm... that's a tough one since I've never done a secret santa with family. If it were one of the guys in my family I could get away with something from their favorite football team, but for the women (easier) I would go the Avon route! I have a freind who hooks us up with great deals and I could get a great present for $20. :goodvibes

My husband drives me nuts by saying "warsh" instead of wash. It kills me! Also, living in the south.... there are lots of words that drive me bonkers since I was kinda raised in the north lol. But I think that is more the accent.... lol.

When we did secret santa in my family we would either give 3 ideas as what we might need/want or if the person had a collection we would add to it.

Example: I have a cousin that plays santa at Christmas time, he has a big santa collection so whenever i had his name i would find someting to add.
One year i got him a Zippo lighter with a picture of santa engraved on it.

When you travel, is there a certain hotel or hotel chain that you like to stay at?

When we go somewhere besides Disney or cruising, I usually go with the best price for what we want from one of the onsite places..........expedia, hotel.com or one of those.

If you were to adopt a new pet, what type of pet would you choose?

I think the next pet we'll get will be a dog--probably a Golden Retriever.

Thanks for the tip on the Oreos. I might have to make a trip to Target next week. ;)

No pets here, asthma, allergies and pets don't mix. And i read an article that said animals that are avertised as allergy free are really not.
