I enjoy candles in my house. I used to use them alot more before, so I have candles here, and there. I rarely or maybe never had used one till all the wax is done. Before I used to be into Yankee Candles that I used to most get those, in the scents that I like-berry, and fresh baked goodie scents. But now, I am more open to different brands as well. Yesterday, I had received a flameless candle, and I do enjoy them since I don't have to worry about the kids knocking it over, or if I fall asleep while it is on.

Yankee Candle McIntosh Apple is my most favorite scent. I'm very, very picky when it comes to scents. Most I don't like. Most manufactured scents like perfume, cologne, bother me.

I like a scent that you can sub consciously smell, not something that hits you in the face when you walk in the door.

I only use candles when it's cold. It just seems too hot in the summer for a flame but every now and then when I'm expecting someone over I'll light up a candle.

I like to put tealights in frosted globes. They are as pretty as Christmas lights and can set anywhere.

I love candles. Especially in winter they make things feel so homey. I really love chocolate scented ones but they are really hard to find. Otherwise spice scented ones like pumpkin spice, etc are my favorites. Ah..time to go to Bath and body works to check out their candle selection!:cloud9:

The one that comes instantly to mind is Thanksgiving dinner back when I was a teenager. I may have been 15/16 years old. I just remember it being so good. My cousin and I just stuffed ourselves till we were almost sick. That was way back when I could eat and not gain a pound.;)

How many of you use the boxed pancake mix? How many of you make your pancakes from scratch? What sort of fillings, and toppings do you like on your pancake? Feel free to share any recipes.

I make them from scratch. I just think they taste better and its not hard.( My kids love pancakes for dinner. :goodvibes ) I always have the ingredients, and even keep buttermilk in the fridge for them.

I think I'll have to make some this morning...you made me hungry for them! :goodvibes

I use Hungry Jack pancake mix where you have to add the milk, eggs and oil. I've never made them from scratch.

I'm not into pancake toppings, I like them with a little butter and syrup. A couple pancakes go a long way for me.

The only difference is flour/salt/baking powder/soda instead of the mix. I add vanilla, too.

Oh and here's my bacon trick I just learned. Put the slices of bacon onto a cookie sheet, single layer. (cover in foil for easy cleanup.) Put it into a cold oven and preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Set the timer for 12-15 minutes. Cook time starts when the oven starts to preheat.

That's the way I've been cooking my bacon for many years. It works great!!

You should have told me sooner!:rotfl2:

I just went through this with a friend about books. I was gushing over The Help and The Art of Racing in the Rain and she said "I read those already". I feel like I'm reinventing the wheel here.

I don't remember where I read about it.,.....somewhere online I am sure ;)
Works great, doesn't it?
Sorry.........never know what others know.....plus I am old, so should have a vast amount of knowledge stored, right ? :rotfl:

Could you share your recipe please.

I use the box mixes. We like regular syrup, maple syrup, blueberry syrup, and coconut syrup-although pricey so we rarely have that one :(

Is your family a football family? Does your entire family get together on Sundays or Mondays to watch football? Do you go out to watch any high school, or other football teams? What sort of foods do you eat while watching football? Do you tailgate? If so, what types of foods do you cook while tailgating?

We watch football sometimes. Joe watches it if there is nothing else on. The Cowboys are not all that good this year so we don't make an effort to watch them. We do watch the Superbowl no matter who is playing.

We haven't been to a football party in years but when we used to do that, there would be nachos, hamburgers, stuff like that there to eat.

Since Carol has graduated from high school, we still go to the Ralph Hall Classic or otherwise called the Battle of I30 football game. There are two high schools now here in Rockwall. Interstate 30 cuts the county in half with a school on each side. James graduated from Rockwall and Carol from Rockwall Heath. The winner gets a trophy to display in their school until the next year. This started in 2008. Ralph Hall is our congressman and has been in that position for forever. We went Friday night and Heath spanked Rockwall.

When we go to high school games, the fare is hot dogs or nachos. Sometimes a local business is allowed to sell (donate) their product also. Chick Fil A and Cici's Pizza are two that also have food at the concession stands.

We don't tail gate but there is a big tail gating party before the Battle at the stadium. They are trying real hard for the two high schools to have a friendly rivalry. Both drill teams performed together at half time and the two bands performed some songs together.

We can't even think of football right now! The Cardinals are in the World Series! The Rams are not not doing well this year - they're 0-7 so far last I heard... My DH is a Greenbay Packer fan! :lmao:

YES! GO STEELERS! (STILLERS, for those of us from Pgh!) DH goes to a few games each year-he splits season tickets with a friend. They do tailgate, but he isn't in charge of the big stuff. I'll make some jersey cookies for them next game. They grill something they've named "heaven on a stick". :rotfl2:

Watching the game-we tend to get very superstitious during playoffs. :goodvibes Have to have kielbasa and perogies!

Not that into the HS football here, but the kids go.

Woohoo! Glad someone can celebrate. I'm a Pirate fan.:lmao:

How often do you take family pictures? Not just professional ones, but also ones with your own camera of you, and your entire family?
