I am not an antique person. As for family heirlooms, not sure. No interest in those sorts of things, but I am sure there is something around.

I do not and will not eat mashed potatos from a box mix. My mom almost always makes mashed potatos out of scratch.
This is how I make a potato cake.
I put some margarine in a small frying pan then throw in the mashed potatos after the margarine has melted. I usually just get a big scoop of the potatos. I smash the potatos down a little so it looks kinda like a pancake and just let it cook until its a little brown on one side and then I flip it.(that can be a challenge sometimes lol) Add some salt and yum!

My mom just told me....a potato cake to most other people is totally different than what I just described lol. so yeah.. Hope that answers your question ;)
That's the kind of potato cake I was talking about. I've always tried to shape mine first then throw in the skillet. They always fall apart. I'll try it your way and see what happens.

Hmmm, I wasn't thinking antiques. I have four pieces of furniture that I guess you could call antiques since they are over 50 years old. I have my mother's parent's metal bed, a buffet that belonged to my mom (I'll get the matching mirror one of these days), a drop leafed table and wall table that belonged to my dad's mom.

Health food stores. Do you shop at them? Do you purchase food or drink items from the deli? What do you think about them?

I had shopped at a couple of them before for this, and that. But I do not usually buy organic, or healthy like food.

I do!! I wait to long and alternate - I love LOVE Red, but the hubby not so much - so I tend to do a little red in fall and blonde highlights in summer!! :)

Do you dye your hair?

Oh yeah! I started to get alot of gray in my early 30's so I've been doing the color thing for a while now. Luckily the products arent' too bad for your hair like they were in my moms day. I'm usually some shade of red or brownish with red highlites/ lowlites (???)... whatever my hair/ color girl wants to do. It changes a wee bit each time I go. And no I'm too scared to try to do this at home on my own. :rotfl:

Liz

No, but Carol does. She changed her hair color a lot in high school. She damaged her hair so bad that when she graduated, her hair looked yellow. I was not real happy about her graduation pictures.

No. I do not like the smell of the chemical. But since I have black hair, when the little white hairs pop up, you are really able to see them. :sad2:

What is your most favorite "holiday", Thanksgiving, Fall, Winter, Christmas..... food or drink item that comes out only during these Fall, and Winter months? Ex. Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte.

Favorite holiday - Christmas

Favorite food and drink - fruitcake and egg nog.

What song do you hear on the radio or in person that just wants to make you get up, and dance?

Oh, golly, I love to dance and any song that's got a good beat/rhythm can make my feet tap. And if they're not tapping then my head's a bobbing or my shoulders are a twitching. :rotfl:

oooh I love to dance too!! The song nowadays that makes me wanna dance is Tonight Tonight by Hot Chelle Rae. But like the previous poster said..anything with a beat will get me moving lol.

If you were to go on a cooking show, and could pick which ethnic types of foods you would cook, which would you choose? And what would you cook if you had to pick three different dishes? What types of foods do you usually cook at home?
