I don't usually watch the events either unless I am flipping through the channels, and see something interesting. But the two things that catch my attention the most is the figure skating, and luge.

I'm behind sorry.

Since Mardi Gras is coming up....are you planning on celebrating it? What is your favorite Mardi Gras/New Orleans food? What types of foods would you like to try? What do you like best about Mardi Gras?

We don't celebrate. I like jambalaya, chicken creole, beignets.

What are your favorite crepe fillings?

Never had a crepe, but would try one with cream cheese and strawberries.

Today is the start of the Winter Olympics....will you be watching it? And if so, what event are you most looking forward to?

No, we watch no sports.

Since the winter Olympics are almost in my backyard so to speek (I live in Richmond, and the Olympic Speed skating oval is a 10 min drive from here). I will be watching the opening ceremonies tonight, and the kids are really looking forward to it. I've noticed alot of out of towners here for the Olympics, and you can always spot the tourists. The sports I will be watching are: curling, luge, figure skating, and hockey. The rink that I curl at is across the street from the Oval, so am going to have fun getting to it on Sunday. Security is very tight for the games, and heard a couple of CF-18's fly overhead a couple of mins ago. They are taking no chances for any security breaches and is tight all around.

I'm glad that you posted this question Patsy! I did not realize that the Olympics began today. I plan on watching the opening ceremonies tonight. I like to watch all the sports but try not to miss the figure skating.

I like to watch the bobsled and any skiing events. I am going to sky+ (our version of tivo) the opening ceremony. I am excited to watch these games knowing the next olympics will be near us!!! I plan to go to lots of events at london 2012 (our town has just had a new olympic pool opened which will be used as a training venue for the games, as I teach there once a week I hope to see some training.)

I really enjoy watching the Olympics. I think the opening and closing ceremonies are really fantastic! I enjoy watching most of the sports, but usually just watch whatever happens to be on when I turn on the tv.

On a side note, it really angers/disappoints me that the media has chosen to play and replay the final moments of the Georgian luger's life. Just because you are able to show something on tv, doesn't mean you should.

My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

Was there ever a time that you were searching for something that you could not find in your area, but was sooo excited or happy to receive it in an exchange?

Ex. for myself, it would be Raspberry Zingers. I still can't find them here, but they are avaliable in certain parts of the mainland.

Hawaiian Macadamian Nut Coffee!!!

Yes one year I was having trouble finding neco waffers (of all things) and said so when I signed up for a candy exchange. A very nice DISer send me a lot of them. :)

It is always nice to receive something that you really want, and can't get your hands on. :goodvibes

No, but I received a t-shirt that I admired from a fellow DISer.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Hope everyone is having a nice Valentine's Day, and Happy Chinese New Year!!!

Today's QOTD is:

According to the Chinese Zodiac sign, what animal are you?

I am the spunky Monkey. ;)

I always thought it interesting that in the Chinese zodiac there is only one mythical beast -- the dragon.
And the same goes for the animal line up in the Animal Kingdom logo.

Happy Valentines Day

Valentine's Day Trivia-....Did you know?

California produces 60 percent of American roses, but the vast numbers sold on Valentine's Day in the United States are imported, mostly from South America. Approximately 110 million roses, the majority red, will be sold and delivered within a three day period.

Chinese zodic sign: Dragon (fire dragon to be exact.)

That figures, seeing we import a lot of things.

I have a cousin who works for a florist as a deliverer and he can assess to the busy three day period.
