Sorry I was out the past couple of days! I would loooove to retire to Maine, but since I own the place we're in now, I am probably planted! Never know what might happen though! :goodvibes:

My daughter usually brings homelunches, and I sometimes include a note, joke.... her school starts in less than a week, so I need to get some of these prepared. So today's QOTD is-

Do you know any suitable jokes for an 8 year old?

/
I can't think of any off hand but I suggest a quick trip to the library for a children's book of jokes.

Thank you for the jokes. If anyone has anymore, keep them coming. I will need a bunch of them this entire school year, and maybe for a couple more years. :thumbsup2

I know that I had asked a similar question before, but since we have new exchangers, I will ask a similar question along with another set of questions.

If you were to invite a Food Network chef to your house, who would you pick? What three dishes would you cook for them? What one dish would you ask them to prepare for you, and what three questions would you ask them?

I don't watch Food Network so I don't know what chef I'd pick. I think that one of the dishes I'd like then to make is a souffle (sp?). I've never had one. I definately would not cook for them. As for questions, I guess one would be how they decided that they wanted to be a chef.

I would definitely pick Paula Deen. I would cook vegetable stroganoff, brown rice and banana pudding. I wouldn't mind whatever she cooked for me! 3 questions: How much butter have you eaten over your entire life? Can I have the grand tour of your beautiful home? Who is your favorite Food Network chef that you've worked with?

Susan, the last time I had a souffle, I was so stuffed that I was not able to eat even half of it. But it was yummy. I even tried making them at home, so bought the remekins, but lost the recipe that I had. I should try to find a new recipe, and make it one of these days.

Erin, I would pick Paula Deen as well. She seems so down to earth, and it seems like she has had to struggle to where she is now at. She cooks the types of foods that I would eat, or at least more than some of the other chefs. Butter, butter, butter. :rotfl:

Hmmm, I don't remember. I do know that I didn't go out and have my first legal drink when I was 21 because back then you could get a legal drink at 18. :rotfl:

Same here, except the legal drinking age was 21. I was getting served at 17, yup never carded.

At home with my parents! DH (then bf) joined us for my 21st, which also involved a day babysitting and attending one of his softball games.

On my 16th birthday my sister threw a surprise party for me at her apartment. I was so surprised! Seemed like everyone I knew was there. I'll never forget that -- that was my only surprise party ever. 21st birthday I don't remember. I was a Mom by then of a 1 year old -- I was probably reading stories and changing diapers!
