Welcome to a new month. January sure did pass by fast. Don't forget to change your calendars to a new month.

Today's QOTD is-
What foods bring back childhood memories for you? Maybe something your parents used to cook for you, something you used to always eat for snack....?

My gosh, the month flew by!! Feb is always the longest month of the year for me. Drags by...

Peach Cobbler and Southern Fried Chicken - my grandmother, who was born and raised in Mississippi, made the best peach cobbler and fried chicken.

3 Musketeers - I remember when these cost a nickel and the TV ads would show how it could be broken into 3 even pieces to share - it was true - We always shared it 3 ways. ::yes::

I can remember eating oranges as a child. My mom would slice one in half and my sister and I would share it.

We used to ride our bikes all over the neighborhood collecting Coke bottles to turn in at the gas station at the end of our block. We would buy a Coke in a bottle and a bag of salted peanuts. Then we would dump the peanuts in our Coke. Yum!!

My grandma used to make the best fried oysters! And her succotash was good too.

Pixy Stixs and Fun Dip

Kool Aid and push-ups! Yum!!:goodvibes

Potlucks, potlucks, potlucks......

Do you enjoy them? What type of potluck dishes are your favorite? What do you like to bring to a pot luck?

Can you believe I've never been to one!! I'd probably take a yummy homemade dessert. :)

It's been years since we've been to one, and usually it was by last name initial...by the time you get to "W" we're asked for desserts, and I bring brownies usually.

Bobbi:goodvibes

I went to one last summer. I usually take a vegetable dish or a dessert unless I'm asked to bring something else.

Can't remember the name, but my mom use to make this frozen dessert that tasted like a orange dream bar. I loved it when she use to make this. Also after playing in the snow we used to come inside to some homemade hot chocolate.

I love that there was different kinds of desserts especially "Red Velvet Cake" at pot luck dinners. I have such a sweet tooth. Now I make my own "Red Velvet Cake" every Christmas.

I go to them all the time with the different vintage vehicle groups we belong to. I usually bring something that I can eat, such as a cane sugar free cake, potato salad, or a sugar free cake that has dried fruit in it.

Haven't been to a potluck in awhile, but usually bring dessert or a vegetable dish when we do go.

My daughter's friend is sleeping over tonight since I am taking her friend to school tomorrow as well. If you were to have a 7 & 8 year old girls at your house during the evening, what activity would you do with them for the last 30 minutes before bed?

Nothing too stimulating, most 7/8 year olds that I know are very active so I would want them to settle/calm down before bed.

If they like to read, I'd have them each reading a book from their favorite author/series.

If your friends were to say one thing about your personality or ways, what would majority of them say? Ex. Organized, Friendly, Quiet.....?
