Good point Patsy, hope that you and your family are safe. I have to admit that I was a little worried when I heard about the advisories, as I live on what used to be a flood plain for the Fraser River, and am surrounded by dikes to keep the water out. Here if you dig down 2 feet you strike fresh water. Have been trying to keep up with the news about what's going on with all those affected, but my internet has been sporadic, and crashes without warning, so it's been fun trying to surf the net today.

I have so much to do yet I keep checking for new upcoming reports, and to see pictures of the distrcution.

So, I will keep posting random Question of the Day questions throughout the day.

1st- What sort of things annoyed you today, that got on your nerves?

The thing that always annoying me these days...TEACHERS!!! My DS 6 is failing all aspects of grade 1 and the #@#$@###@#@!!! elementary system we have here insists that all kids get a free pass to grade 8 no matter how poorly they are doing:furious::furious::furious:. He's being evaluated for learning/speech/language dlsability, and am about to go to war with the school to force them to hold him back a grade to give him a chance to get caught up. I've got my last evaluation on Monday with the hospital that specializes in learning delays, then I'm going to war with the school to force them to hold him back a grade. Wish me luck. Enough of my rant, back to your scheduled program in progress....:confused3:confused3:confused3

I Susan, I was going to email you but took a nap. Sleeping later at night, and having to stay up extra and do everything last night, and early this morning did not help with the amount of sleep I had gotten.

We do not live near the coastline, and we are at a higher elevation, so we are safe. But the grocery stores....are near the coastline, so when there are situations like this, everyone goes to purchase what they need, and you do need to rush to safety shortly after.

I had gotten annoyed a few times today-
*My DH was standing at the stove this morning for a long time. I didn't ask him what he was making-got annoyed by him since I woke him up to tell him about the tsunami, and that I was going to the store with DD to pick up some things. He told me to be safe, and went back to sleep. As we were entering out of the store during our second visit in, we had received a text-the phone lines were not working, saying that there is a tsunami warning, so to be careful. :rolleyes1:sad2:  I told DD, maybe he heard the siren, and woke up, and found out what was actually going on. And I was sooooo right!

*Second thing was a young punky who was driving so close in the back of me tailing me, then once he was able to take over, he was speeding, and his loud car engine made alot of noise. I am not the slowest driver, trust me, and he had those annoying different colored lights that makes it hard to see when you focus into it or on your mirror.

*My service with my cellphone provider since I was only able to use my phone to make actual calls for a bit, and then later my texts were not even going through.

There are more, but I will stop here.

batteries, water, matches, candles, canned food. Also, first aid stuff but that's six.

Oh, Patsy....I can't imagine how stressful these last few days have been for you all! I am so glad the tsunami missed you guys and happy to hear you are a safe distance from water! :goodvibes Get some rest and I hope things start to get back to normal real soon!

My computer is giving me problems logging onto this site, as well as others. And not sending me notifications. :sad2:

If you were a wizard, and were to put a curse onto someone, who would it be on, and what type of curse would it be?

Question #2-

During an emergency, what five things would you purchase at the store?

Bottled water

Make sure my tanks for the gas grill are filled (so if we loose electricity I can still cook, as we would need to empty the freezer)

Non perishable food

Ice for the coolers to keep milk and eggs cold

Now i know your asking your self what about the batteries, well dh has so many electronics that we always have tons of batteries on hand.

Patsy i saw were you posted that you would make sure to buy tp, well i have an irrational fear of running out that i buy so much we won't run out, lol.

I also have all the stuff for a small first aid kit already, but i suppose i should buy a few of those blankets that look like a giant piece of tin foil.

I would never put a curse on a person, simply for the reason that whatever darkness you send towards a person it tends to come back at you double. For this reason I feel that karma does a good enough job of getting back at people who have given you grief.

I feel the same way though sometimes I wish that I could get back at careless drivers, maybe dump a glass of water in their laps. Something harmless like that. ;)

So my sister is visiting, and they went on a vacation to Canada and is talking about her trip. She spoke about salmon-YUM! So todays QOTD is-

Do you like salmon? What ways do you like it prepared? Feel free to share any recipes, and tips.

Salmon is one fish i don't like.

My mother uses it in soup (canned salmon) sorry no recipe she just throws a little of this a little of that in a pot and cook. Sometimes she will just bake a small fillet.

I love eatting salmon. I like to get the boneless filet, and top it off with a mixture of mayonaise, garlic salt, black pepper, and thinly sliced bulb onion. And broil it-yum! Then to add on homemade hot sauce on it :).

I've only had salmon once or twice- but I really liked that salmon dish at Akershus! Yummers!!!! :goodvibes
