Exchange 6-Day Pass for AP?

I know I have read on here that you can exchange a normal day pass for an AP and pay the difference. I'd like to confirm this before we go though with some folks that have done it. My plans are to buy a 6-day PH pass from Undercover Tourist and exchange it while down there. We don't know for sure we want an AP yet...still debating a second trip for this year. We are leaving next week and I need to order my passes ASAP. Thanks for the help!

Yes, just use the ticket to enter a park at least once (this locks in your discount from UT), then take it to Guest Relations in or out of the park with your DVC member card and photo ID and say you want to upgrade it to an AP.

You should try and decide earlier rather than later in your trip - since the AP is a hopper and also enables you to get some AP discounts, purchase a Tables in Wonderland (discount dining) card if you want, etc.

Great advice. Thanks. We'll probably have our minds made up before we leave. We already booked a Dec. trip just to have the room. Plus I've never been at Christmas time.

Just to clarify, you receive credit for the amount of the ticket (whether it is a 6 day or an 8 day) towards the purchase of an AP? What is the current cost for an AP with a DVC discount?

I believe the AP with DVC discount is $425 including tax.

Adult DVC AP = $399+tax
Child DVC AP = $360+tax
