My DH had 22,000 miles with the Advantage Miles program that were about the expire but he wasn't concerned. He was flying to DFW within the appropriate time frame which would add to the miles and keep them active for another three years. He gave the TA his Advantage number and assumed (as men are wont to do) that the TA did her job. She didn't. When his mileage statement arrived, he Had NO MILES!! Nor could he find his boarding pass.
He didn't call AA because he just assumed that it was too late.
Never one to take no for answer, at least the first time, I called with the time and date of travel of the return. The customer service rep was very helpful, actually spend a good amount of time service for the outbound. She credited not only those miles but reinstated the ones that were lost. Hurray for AMERICAN AIRLINES and I usually fly Delta. I guess the next question is; whose miles are they now. I feel that they may be my miles since I was able to salvage them. Just like treasure lost at sea. :)
