Exactly how does Cyber Monday work?

I've been a Black Friday girl for many years. This year was the first year in AGES that I didn't even step foot in a store. I've heard of Cyber Mondays before but not sure how it works exactly. Do ALL stores have great deals online or only certain ones? Do tell.

I haven't even bought a single thing yet for Christmas and I'm getting anxious. If I can score some deals (mainly video games for the boys) I'll be happy. My oldest son basically wants stuff for his car along with a couple video games and my youngest son is all about the video games along with odd ball stuff. LOL

I think Cyber Monday is mostly hype. I look every year and never find any great deals.

It is mainly for "techie type" gifts. new egg, tiger direct, ect will usually have some great deals. There are a couple of things I am waiting to pick up.

If you're looking for video games, and don't mind used. A lot of the blockbusters are closing stores (not all, just some), and so they've got video games for 30% off the used price. And gamestop is doing thier buy 2 get 1 free on used games as well. Gamestop's return policy is much much better on used than it is on new games, and you've got 30 days (I think till mid Jan for holiday purchases now) to swap the game out if it doesn't work. Some times you can find copies almost new because the person only played it once.

video games especially the newer ones are pretty much priced as is. Most of the companies generally don't allow deep discounts. You'll find them $10 off here or there. Older games will have good discounts.

Cyber monday is not meant to compare to black friday. Its a day generally where people like me who shop on line anyway can score some deals. Many of the retail giants will give you free shipping and the clothing and book retailers will have % off.

TV's will be big on cyber monday.
Things like apple Ipods and video games are usually the same $$ no matter where you get them (within a few bucks here or there)
