Date to date, e.g., Jan 3 for Aug 3 at 7 months out, except for certain variations for some end of the month reservations because of lack of same dates, e.g., at 7 months out you cannot reserve a start date of Sept 29 or 30 on Feb 28 when Feb has only 28 days; you must wait to March 1 to make the reservation.
Also, the 11/7 month windows begin exactly at 8 a.m. eastern at 11/7 months out if you reserve online; 9 a.m. if you call Member Services. On whether to choose doing it online or calling, you need to consider that waiting that extra one hour can mean the difference in getting and not getting a desired reservation for some rooms, e.g., BWV standard studios can disappear within seconds after 8 a.m. at 11 months out for some times of the year.

Yep - Disney is actually pretty concise in this manner. Some windows are based on days (180 days, 60 days, 30, etc...), while others are months. When they say months, that's what they mean.
