yes, but "those" are a relatively current fouling odor. "Dirty clothes" musk has an aged character all its own. Not to be underestimated.

Can't people smell themselves when they are that disgustingly stinky?

I'm a waitress and we used to have this one local man who came in regularly, and he stunk horribly of urine. I would literally hold my breath while I stood by him taking his order and I wouldn't breathe again until I was away from him. It was terrible!

We occasionally have people come in who reek and you just have to wonder why they would go to a public place when they stink to high heaven.

I don't think they do know, and even when they're told, they just don't get it. it's so sad.

There's this lady in my town who was like that. She was the sweetest person in the world, but she didn't know how to take care of herself AT. ALL. People tried to tell her and tell her and tell her. I remember a few incidents with her, and it's a shame that all I can really remember about this lady is the stench she carries around with her. Anyway, the worst was when she decided to join DH's choir. They were going caroling one Christmas and everyone else had a "full car" and couldn't take her along, so DH, as director couldn't say no. He had to take her and that smell was in his car for weeks, even with him spraying and spraying.

She went to the college where I worked (I don't know how anybody was able to sit near her for an hour!) and because of her, we started keeping cans of air freshener in the store.

Yes, it is sad. Some people just can't help themselves for whatever reason. This is directed at no one in particular, but, compassion people. It's a good thing.

There are still people in this country that don't have running water.

I'm ashamed to live in the richest country in the world, but we still have people living in third world conditions.
