Just watching a report on the chemical weapon "Agent Orange" that the USA used on Vietnam - it's horrific

There are children over there who have been exposed or who have had parents who were exposed, mangled and twisted in ways that would make you cry.

Yes, there were also American soldiers exposed to it.

The American soldiers, sailors and marines exposed have suffered untold numbers of illnesses including cancer and have children with birth defects. But many of the Vietnamese affected weren't combatants, they were simply victims of the massive spraying by American helicopters and planes in order to defoliate. Many, many Vietnamese people are still affected today, most of whom were born long after the conflict was over. The chemicals have stayed in the soil and groundwater and continue to cause great harm.

I'm certainly not saying Americans suffered less - my husband had significant AO exposure while in Vietnam and we had a severely deformed child who died before birth - I'm saying that the Vietnamese have suffered in far greater numbers.

It's very sad and now we are hearing some of the same kinds of things happening to those who were at ground zero.

My Uncle died as a result of exposure. It was a slow painful cancer.

And some of them are still fighting with the VA/US government to recognize it and get disability pay.
