Everything You Do, CELEBRATE YOU! - Polynesian - Club Level - TPV

What a great trip you had, I really should visit DLP one day!

I'm not sure whereabouts you live but have you heard Earl of Sandwich is opening in Bluewater anytime soon :yay:

Our September/October trip to Walt Disney World trip is up next!!!!

Have really enjoyed all your pictures so far, and am looking forward to this! Also, all your various animated gifs just crack me up. :) Thanks for sharing!

OMG. Sooo many posts!
<rolls up shirtsleeves>

Cinémagique is greatness.

Stop beating around the bush Katie. Tell us if you like this or not!

It’s a movie on a big screen that contains clips from loads of classic movies. These clips all merge together to create a story, with the help of set recreations and a main actor.

That sounds pretty terrific!

So we went to ride Rock n Roller Coaster, twice! Yay.

Can't go wrong with a little RNRC.

23239557356_63b42e0a5f_c.jpg

Your face there! :lmao:

It’s fun, and I love anything I can clap and sing to.

 I think that's one of the reasons I like you.

Because it wouldn’t be a Disney trip if you don’t get bubbled at least once.

Yep. Gotta get bubbled....

We're not talking about alcohol here, are we?

Of course, after the show it was raining again

Of course. :sad2:

so we spent some time in the Animation Building.
(Omg this trip to Disneyland was really getting in the way of my WDW-lost-attractions grieving process.)

No kidding! Such a tragedy.

So the CM gave me a long, thin piece of paper to do some animation drawings!
It did not turn out good.
My animation career ended as fast as it began.

Oh, no! What will you do now?
You'll be penniless and homeless!

I decided to go back to my old career.
(I look at pretty Disney things for a living.)

Oh, phew!
How does one get into this sort of career?
Do you have to go to school for it?

They still have the drawing class here in Disneyland Paris!
None of the fam were bothered about doing it though (THEY’RE CRAZY).

What?!?!?
Please pass on this note to them: "Are you out of your minds???"

Thanks.

Well we did a big dramatic performance and got really into it.
But when we played the video clip with our voice recording, it had TOTALLY failed, and all that came out of Belle and Beast's mouths were Iago-style squawking noises...!

 Fail!

Voice actor career: Failed.

Back to looking at pretty things.

Always good to try new things, but have a fall back position, too.

(This dwarf picture is me after Disney.)

We headed over to Ratatouille of course, but it had broken down. BOO.
So we decided to go to Tower of Terror.

Good 2nd choice.

Just like last time, he came up behind me, and whispered in my ear,
“It’s waiting for you…”

AGAIN!!!

:lmao: Again?!?
You didn't brace yourself even a little bit after the first time?

He kept slightly opening the emergency exit door to peer around it, then jumping back in terror and slamming it shut :rotfl2:

Awesome!

I wonder where he went...
(Obv the Twilight Zone.)

Obv.

Dad bought me this awesome Tangled jewelry hanger!

That's a good Dad.

I don’t often drink beer, but I’m very partial to these.

Stay thirsty my friend.
(And you probably have zero idea what I'm talking about.)

Here I'll mention our server Matt who was amazing.
In every way.

Wait. Let me guess.
He was hot.

and he’s a rugby player (ladies :thumbsup2)

Knew it.

He moved here three years ago and at first he barely spoke any french (it wasn’t even required for his Planet Hollywood job!) but now he was basically fluent, how cool!

Always the best way to learn a language.
Go where you have no choice but to speak it.

I’m such a huge bread pudding fan

Not I...
but white chocolate? I might have to try that.

(Although maybe I’m just a dessert-addict.)

Who isn't!?!? :confused3

And sure enough, my Tower of Terror bellhop friend was walking by off in the distance!!!
You, know, the guy who had scared me two days in a row
I love that guy. He was far away, I wish I could’ve said hello :goodvibes

"said hello"! You should've run over and scared him!

This MIGHT be in the poster art set that I MIGHT buy later tonight

:rolleyes1

It was only about 8:10pm so we had time to ride Big Thunder Mountain before the fireworks!

Good choice.

Dad and Hannah always hold on for dear life, so James and I challenged them to ride with their hands in the air…
This is the best they could do…

 Well, it's a start.

Beautiful shot, Katie. Love the silhouetted trees forming a frame.

OBSESSED. WITH. THIS.

 Really? Doesn't. Show!

The shop is down this cute corridor.

A corridor is cute?
Makes me wonder how hot that waiter was.

It’s just general cuteness..

Ah. I see. Just "general" cuteness.

I showered all of the rain water out of my hair and wrote Bill and Mandy’s postcards, before completely passing out!

You must've been pretty wrinkly when you woke up in the shower after passing out.

There were no eggs, bacon OR baked beans left.

What? That's kindof the only reason to have breakfast!

I find that gif hypnotic.

Yes, Mr and Mrs Incredible came out on segways, twirled around a bit, then left.

Probably had to go off and save the World or something.

That video was weird.
Scene: Destruction and mayhem.
Audio: A merry little tune.

I think it’s so unique and interesting, they should never have gotten rid of it in Florida.

AGREED!!

Plus, I MISS MY BELOVED COSTUME BUILDING :sad::sad:

Did I ever tell you how when I first visited, they had Julia Robert's red dress from Pretty Woman?

We walked straight on, past the hour+ line!

I love doing that.
"Yes. Look at me. I am special. You are not."

Here are the videos again, since I've been posting all of them at once.

I loved that! That looks like the best ride!

Nope, not the Rainforest Café. Keep marching.

Thank goodness.

Always trust a Dis-er people!!!

HERE’S where we’re getting lunch today!!!

I've yet to go. But I hear such good things about it!

OMG.
Everybody LOVED it!!!
The sandwiches were so fresh and warm and tasty and amazing.

Always trust a Dis-er.

My friends and I went up in the balloon in December 2013, it was great! We had a blast, although my legs wobbled a bit.

"Katie then pitched over the side and plummeted to her death. She's writing this TR via a Ouija board from the other side."

Here I am.

23381093896_b70e889897_c.jpg

Perfect. You couldn't have done better. Absolutely spot on.

This is actually the original show. Disneyland Paris “gave” it to Walt Disney World as part of the Happiest Celebration on Earth festival.

Huh. Interesting.

The dude's on fire! Put him out! Put him out! Don't just stand there! You've got a freaking extinguisher in your hand! Use it!!!

It’s fun seeing it with people who don’t know the secrets about the cars.

::yes::
And that was me on my solo trip in Feb.

I guess they have this RC attraction, kinda like those old Pirate Ship rides that swing you from side-to-side, but I’ve never found them very exciting.

Borrrring.

My Dad is pretty afraid of heights, so we were trying to convince him to go on this Green Army Man Parachute ride.
Because we are cruel, cruel children.

:rotfl:

But as we were standing there deliberating, the ride broke down! Everyone was just hanging there for ages, what a nightmare!

Whoa. Can you imagin if he'd been on it at the time?
Can you say "Removed from the will."

23111436630_0b25a52ed4_c.jpg

Nailed it… Again!

 Yes you did!

Of course I got my beloved, disgusting hot chocolate :crazy2::lovestruc:laughing:
What a roller coaster of emotions.

I really like this attraction, the details on the miniatures are really good.

That looks really good.
So much detail!

Unlike the Disneyland (California) Canal Boats, there’s no CM guide to talk you through everyhing. In DLP, it’s just a nice quiet, relaxing boat ride :goodvibes

And I like that too. I want to look around and discover little details on my own.

Like this miniature of an obviously drunken Belle about to fall backwards into the fountain.

James and I sat in the very back, which actually faces backwards, and it was quite intense!!!
We didn’t feel very secure with the lap-bar, and it took some pretty abrupt turns that we couldn’t anticipate, which made it a fun ride!

(Notice the joystick and my strategic camera angle to make it seem like I won by a lot more than I actually did…)

JAMES YOU SUCK.

:lmao: Only 3900 points? Man I thought I was bad. James you do suck!

Afterwards we used our daily hotel fastpasses at Big Thunder! Of course.

Of course.

(They said they saw a rat in Adventureland eating some old pizza on the ground! EW!)

Pizza rat!!

Hurry upppp 6 o’clockkkk.
I was excited.

Really? Can't tell. Very subtle.

I loved that they make just as much of a fuss over a table of four adults as they do with all the kids.

That's nice.
Sometimes I think the adults are more excited than the kiddos.

The characters came around super fast, it felt like there was one at our table every five minutes.

Impressive... But how can you eat?!?!?

He messed up Hannah’s hair AND James’ hair!

 I'm sure Hannah loved that!

He asked me to kiss his nose and made this adorable face :lovestruc

Awww...

I started off small, with some pasta salad and crayfish/crawfish (I've no idea what the difference is )

Crawdads.

I power-walked back and told Tigger I was sorry, and that obviously he was much more important to me than food!
He loved this, and pulled me in for a big bouncy hug!

Contrast that with pkondz
"A CM asked me if I'd like to meet Tigger. I said "No"."

And of course, he was up to his usual mischief.

23324470361_75978fd55e_b.jpg

Messed your hair! :rotfl:

OMG, Mickey was besides himself with anxiety!!!!!

The thought of breaking James’ phone almost gave him a heart attack, he “apologised” and fussed over James, then he had to take a moment to lean on a nearby pillar and mop his brow while he composed himself!!
It was too funny.

That is pretty good.
I wonder what would've happened if he had broken the phone?
It must happen from time to time that things get broken.

You sure look happy! :goodvibes

I was sad that Dale had to leave us, but I couldn’t be sad for too long, because Eeyore was right on his tail! (I’m so punny.)

:sad2:

He then pointed at his nose, so I gave him a kiss, and I think that made him feel a bit happier :goodvibes

Who wouldn't be happier after getting a kiss on the nose from Katie???

James also got up to give him a proper hug, because he just looks so sad!!!

Awww...

But loose children are a bit of a problem.
Occasionally we’d see a child run up to a table and try to get the character’s attention.

What? Loose kids in a restaurant. Not a brilliant move.

But some actually had parents nearby encouraging the kid to keep prodding Mickey until he gives you attention.
It is truly bizarre.

Some parents... :sad2:

I don’t know why you would interrupt someone else’s character time like that?

But don't you know they paid a lot of money to be there?

The characters are great about it though, they ignore the kid for a couple of minutes, but if they’re persistent they’ll turn around and give the child the finger.

All right!!!

No, not that finger.

oh.
For a second there...

Last day!
Boooooooo!!!!

Booooo!!!! indeed!

ONLY FOUR MORE SLEEPS UNTIL WALT DISNEY WORLD!!!

:sad2: How do you do that?!?

So to be honest, the last day blues weren’t too bad today.

I would think not!

I took a picture to remember my favourite Snow White mirror in the bathroom!

23155648560_f02b1fb8b1_b.jpg

And look! There's a beautiful princess in it too!
Too bad her face is hidden by the camera.

This kills me. Before you had a whole pot of ketchup. Now, you only get a small dollop on a sausage.

After breakfast we went to the lobby to check out.

What a horrible thing to say!

There's a grand-looking postbox in the lobby, which was handy.

I like that! :thumbsup2

We went to Buzz first of course!

:sad2:

We rode for what I thought was the last time, so afterwards I decided to tell everyone about the different shaped targets, and which shapes are worth more points.
Well, of course they wanted to ride again to try it out, and of course I got annihilated

:lmao: Well that was a lesson learned.

immediately regretted sharing my knowledge, WHEN WILL I EVER LEARN???
NEVER TELL ANYONE THE BUZZ SECRETS.

Silly girl.

Every time I see a picture of that sub, I whimper a little bit.

We walked straight up to the loading gates, and this was the view of the line behind me.

Holy empty, Batman!

When we got off we went to see our photo, and we were cracking up, because although we know where the camera is, and we were intentionally pulling faces, James and I had 100% NOT agreed to make the SAME face :rotfl2:

:lmao:

We were making sure we got our favourite attractions done today, so I’m sure you can guess that we headed to Frontierland to ride Big Thunder Mountain next!

I should hope so!

Well, for the second time, we waltzed straight past everyone who had gathered in one line, and pretty much walked straight onto the ride again :rotfl:

Nice!

This is me walking through the empty line, past everyone glaring at us:

22824282923_216052e1bf_o.gif

Good! Ya wann be sheep? Be our guest!

My reaction when I’m told I can’t go up my castle:

22824307963_20d0478e0d_b.jpg

 I can so see that, too!

How adorable is Figaro in his little cat bed :lovestruc

Adorbs.

After these two fairytale rides (which I definitely was not scared of.. Nope, not me),

Of course not. I totally believe you.

It’s so easy to miss, but if you go into that tiny courtyard, you’ll find this beautiful carriage!

You want to ride to your wedding in that, don't you?

Hot chocolate, of course.
:crazy2: :lovestruc

As we left studio 1, I had another rare character sighting…
Rabbit, from Winnie the Pooh!

He exists?!?

We went to get Tower of Terror fastpasses, but it was broken down again?!
WHY.

Still? No fair!
FIX IT!!

(Actually, Dad bought it for me. He’s the best :lovestruc)

Yep. Good Dad.

As soon as the weather turned, I sent him this:

Good daughter.

it reminds me of the actual Walt Disney Studios where they develop the movies and stuff.

Past tense. Used to develop movies and stuff.

I like this arch, because when literally translated “C’est dans la boîte” means “It’s in the box”.
I just find that funny.
I always act out the scene from SE7EN as I'm leaving the park.

WhatsInTheBoxB-1428420074.gif

“QU'EST-CE QUE DANS LA BOÎTE??!!??!!”

:rotfl:

I was singing and skipping along.

I can so picture this. I want Jamie to take video of you doing that at WDW.

Of course, we had a browse through the stores on the way back.

I believe this is a necessity of life.

They say a watched pot never beeps, so I stared at the the door for a while……

Good plan, but...

NEVER RETURN THROUGH THOSE DOORS WITH OUR CAR KEYS PLEASE THANKS.

:lmao: You go girl!

Sadly they turned up fairly quickly, and soon we were packing up the car.

Ack! You must've blinked or something.

We were very grateful and excited, but when we opened it up, it was just a bottle of water :rotfl2:
Funny.

What an amazing gift! How could anyone top that?!?!?

One of the first things he said to me was,
“I’ve lost 3lbs because you weren’t here to feed me!!!!”

Get that boy some food! Stat!

For those of you who have found it interesting, I thought that since it’s now December (WHAT) I’d share some photos from a last Christmas trip!

Great! Thanks!

We also spent a couple of evenings in the center of Paris, so there’s some nice Christmas photos of that too :goodvibes

Awesome! Thanks again!

Unfortunately, my camera charger decided to break, so only the first few photos are good quality… The rest are just from an old iPhone.

What?!?!? Forget it then! I'm outta here!

But I thought they were still worth sharing.

Oh? Well.... okay. I'll stick around.

And also, here’s the silly video we put together! Again, just dumb iPhone clips, nothing fancy.
I hope you enjoy it!!!

I did! I thought it was quite good, actually.

This is Penny.
I begged her to buy this to wear back home.

23370072541_0e4ea1a903_c.jpg

Please, please tell me she bought it!

We found these two critters casually walking around on their own..!!

23084598219_9f6228b2b1_c.jpg

Yuck. Rats running around loose in Paris. Disgusting.

It’s A Small World was down for refurb during our trip this year

You're soooo lucky!!!

It was SO cold!

Hmmm... I'm curious. Define: "SO cold".

(There isn’t a single Sephora in the whole of the UK. What a travesty.)

We have two in my home town.

I’m obsessed with this napkin.

You have many, many obsessions, don't you.
I think I like that.

Whoa! You really were the last one!

On our last day we rode in the Panoramagique hot air balloon!

Ah, yes. Weak in the knees balloon ride.

Ok, confession time. I just read your previous trip report, and got caught up with this trip report in one day when I should have been studying for my final exams :rolleyes1 But it was completely worth it because I was able catch up on all of your adventures! I live fairly close to WDW and visit frequently, so I'm pretty that we were there at the same time in September! I'm following along, and I can't wait to hear about your next adventure! Congrats on your Masters too!!! pixiedust:

I'm here and just catching up! My husband and I went to Disneyland Paris for 2 nights in November 2013. His first time to europe, and we go to Disneyland! :rotfl:

Unfortunately, I was just finished with my first trimester of pregnancy, and when I think back on the whole visit, it sort of makes me feel pukey. I guess I need to go back and set it right (and not eat so many hot dogs with fake cheese and crispy onions. Addicting AND nauseating!). I actually took my facebook pregnancy announcement photo there!

Screen shot 2015-12-08 at 10.11.19 PM.png

I loved the park, especially the Phantom Manor, Disney Dreams (it was holiday themed when we went...frozen I think?), the parade, the BEER IN FRONT OF THE CASTLE (yesyesyesyes) and Alice's Maze. I hated the cigarette smoke/butts/burn marks on the trash cans and the food (but again, was super pregs... so... not normal. I also hated toast. Who hates toast?).

Looking forward to reading on! I head down in a matter of days!! CANT WAIT! :woohoo:

55914631.jpg

But seriously, another amazing update - I'm not jealous at all that you live so close to DLP (well closer than a 18 hour flight!).

Can't wait to hear all about the Poly!

You're secretly british.. :thumbsup2 This is me whenever I'm at a friend or family member's house..

22834611736_71c03f2b74_o.gif

It's so true and it's not so secret :lmao:

The décor is more like the Grand Floridian Café, except it’s gold and beautiful and just :lovestruc

22313582103_f4c5005875_b.jpg

SO pretty!

We did stop for this photo opportunity though.
James’ facial expression is clearly that of maze-related childhood trauma.

22746634560_8eb5128b97_b.jpg

This is such a cool photo op! I wish they had more like this in WDW.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::lmao::lmao::lmao:

I found this HILARIOUS at the time. I even dragged everyone back to look at Aladdin’s face.
He reminds me of the “you don’t say” meme

latest

IT DOES!!

However it’s in the dark.
And super fun.
And doesn’t make you fear for your life.

:scared1::scared1: The ride in AK is TERRIFYING! It really does make you fear for your life.

:love::love::love: How cute is he??

I was cooing over every little thing, and at one point I exclaimed,
“It’s so FRENCH.”
To which James responded,
“Yeah.. It’s almost as if we’re in France!”

Haha you can always count on siblings to bring you back to reality :rolleyes2

Also here you don’t drive past the costume building, which was my favourite part of DHS’s.

Yes! Getting to go through the costume building was always the best part! But then you stopped seeing people working as much and it was just so sad.

Naps give me so much life.

:worship::worship::worship: Preach! I barely function without a nap.

And she ain’t happy about being chained down.

SO cool.

THIS IS SO COOL!!

In keeping with the classic-Disney-movie-ride-through theme of this morning we rode Peter Pan again!
I love the loading area, it looks like the rooftops of London with smoking chimneys and everything. :lovestruc

23239729676_8b5dbd052e_b.jpg

:lovestruc:lovestruc Peter Pan is my favorite Disney movie. The scenes are just so pretty.

Adorable!

They only had kids sizes, but Dad got me one anyway, and luckily it fits :goodvibes
Plus it was cheaper than adult shirts!

The day I can no longer buy the kids version of a t-shirt in Disney clothing is going to be a sad day :sad2:

Jamie was happy to see me, and was excited for our trip to Florida.
One of the first things he said to me was,
“I’ve lost 3lbs because you weren’t here to feed me!!!!”

Boys. You can't leave them alone or they end up starving themselves.

This is so magical! I love the pictures of the characters.

SO. MANY. WALK AROUND CHARACTERS. I really need a visit to an international park.

(There isn’t a single Sephora in the whole of the UK. What a travesty.)

That is SO crazy to me! Our mall has 2 of them!!

I loved you DLP report! Seems like you had a brill time! I can't believe you were evacuated off Thunder Mountain! :upsidedow
I cannot wait to read you first WDW post! Especially since your at the Poly this time! :hyper:
I've just noticed the timestamp of your last post, what are you doing up at 3.30 in the morning?! I thought I was bad getting up at 5! :rotfl:

Hey girl, thanks! Haha I know! I was excited for my first evacuation  This probably demonstrates that Disney is the height of excitement in my life :lmao:

Yay I'm excited to write it! I've written out our travel day so I'll try to post that today / tomorrow :goodvibes

 Oh, you're one of those people are you? :lmao:

Well I dont't have ketchup with everything, but I have it with A LOT of things. Sorry.

im-the-worst1.gif

A thought occurs, but I shall refrain.

Something about hopping from bed to bed.... :rolleyes1

WOW! I sure hope that isn't the impression I give off :rotfl:

Oh, shoot! I totally forgot you were there with them!
D'oh! I'm an idiot!

(This is nothing new to you, I'm sure.)

Haha that's ok!! Hannah's a bit of a camera dodger, she's only in a couple of photos so I don't blame you at all. :goodvibes

And you are not an idiot...

parks-and-rec-ann-you-beautfiful-tropical-fish.gif

(Your name is now Ann.)

Is that good for flattery points?! I'm new to this method of point-grabbing so please bear with me :thumbsup2

You and my youngest DD would get along just fine.

 I hate mustard so much, I can taste even the tiniest amount in any meal, even if it's mixed into a sauce or something. It is DREADFUL. Brussels sprouts dipped in mustard is my idea of hell

I'm not going to read your update now.
I've already noticed you have vids and I'm at work.
I'll wait 'til later when I'm home
(After DD's concert and class... hopefully.)

I guess you'll be getting another set of replies from me when I get to you :thumbsup2

I AM SO BEHIND!!! :guilty:

That is fine dearest Ronnie (does anyone call you that for short?! I like it.) Tis the season, we are all very busy! No rush :goodvibes
Neither have I!! I think it would be so much fun! I might also have the same mental illness as you :rotfl2:

You know you're a Disney addict when you are excited to be evacuated

If that were a career I'd be CEO by now! :thumbsup2

Ha tell me about it. Designing Disney merch must be such a fun job.

Well JAMIE wouldn't go on Monsters, Inc so his opinion IS NOT VALID SIR :snooty: Bye Felicia! :wave2:

 Exactly!

I LOVE YOUR VOICE! It's so adorable and British...just post videos of you talking all the time ok? :thumbsup2:rotfl:

:rotfl: Thank you! This is crazy to me, because everyone dislikes their own voice right?! There are quite a few Florida videos of mine and Jamie's voices :goodvibes You better get practicing if you want to perfect that British lingo!

Such a lovely family!!

Aww thank you! :goodvibes

Adorable hat! Adorable girl! Adorable scarf! Adorable hair! You get the picture

:lovestruc  :lovestruc  :lovestruc  :lovestruc  :lovestruc  :lovestruc

Unacceptable! There are 4 or 5 just in my town alone plus a few Ulta's. Just pop over here for some makeup

Jealous!! I've only ever been able to buy Sephora make-up in France and the USA :sad2:

tumblr_n85go0KXbr1rxn0ero2_500.gif

(And that's even what I look like without my make-up on :rotfl:)

LOVE IT!! Someday I will see Paris :lovestruc

LOVE LOVE LOVED your DLP/Paris updates!!! So much fun to see a different side of Disney!!

But now it's time for WDW!! I am soooooooooooooo excited to read about yours and Jamie's trip!!!
IxKt9HOM1mI80.gif

Thanks so much for reading!! I'm really glad you enjoyed it, I know it probably wasn't everybody's cup of tea, but I'm glad I have it to look back on :goodvibes
Yay! WDW day 1 is all written out and is coming up once I finish replying to these messages :goodvibes

That castle is just breathtaking. My goodness.
I see a Baymax shirt:D

Isn't it! :lovestruc And I couldn't resist that Baymax shirt, I love that little (/big) guy :lovestruc

:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc
I need to get to DLP just for this ride..

You would love it!! The photos and videos really don't do it justice, it's such a great experience!

Oh my gosh I've done the same thing. 2 summers ago I was in Disney world and really wanted a Frozen shirt (during the biggest part of the craze) and they had adult shirts but they were so expensive! So I just got a bigger size in the kids shirt, and honestly it was prettier. The kids seem to have the funner shirts lol :rotfl:

Exactly! Some of the kids stuff is cuter, and all of it is cheaper!! I bought the Baymax t shirt from the kids section online, and I just ordereed an XL because I figured they'd be small. Well I'm pretty average sized (5'5") and it's actually too big for me! So I bet a lot of people can benefit from it and they don't even realise it. I think a couple of people didn't like the fact that I pointed out that I can wear kids sizes (maybe it sounded like I was showing off? Which to me makes zero sense because I've posted hundreds of photos of myself...so you all know what I look like already :sad2: ) But whatever, I think it's a great tip that people should be aware of!!!!

I feel your pain about being sad leaving - but you were so lucky because you had another wonderful trip on the way! Your last day in DLP sounded fun, it seems as if you got some good park time in.

The only way I'm ever going to leave Disney without crying is if I'm going straight to another Disney park :thumbsup2 It made leaving easier for sure!

That video was toocute. You and your friends are adorable. I love all girls trips, reminds me of myself and my friends in Disney...

Thanks !! I'm glad you liked it, we only had like iphone 4 quality videos so we weren't trying to create a masterpiece or anything  but I like how it came out :goodvibes Ahh yeah, I need another girls trip! I like living vicariously through you and your friends :goodvibes

Beautiful. It kind of looks like a candy cane!

The Christmas version of the show is really nice, but I much prefer the original soundtrack. That's probably my only problem with DLP at Christmas, is that they play the Christmas version every night (as opposed to just party nights), so you don't get to see the original at all. Mehh, maybe I just like the original too much :goodvibes

Oh my gosh there are TOO many Sephoras in NY! :laughing:Glad you are able to shop in them when in Paris!

I first discovered Sephora in Times Square, I spent FOREVER in there! You're so lucky to have so many! We have like Mac and everything, but it's pretty expensive, I just want good quality make-up that's cheap, why is that so difficult England?!??

Katie, I loved your updates on DLP. It looks so beautiful and I definitely plan on going there one day. Thanks for sharing the magic of another Disney park!:goodvibes:goodvibes

I am SOOO excited to read about your adventures in WDW now! :jumping1:

Thanks so much for reading girl! I'm really glad you enjoyed it, since I understand not everyone would be interested in it.
I literally cannot wait to relive my WDW trip!!! I've got our travel day written out so I'll post it once I've replied to all these comments :goodvibes:goodvibes

Well I dont't have ketchup with everything, but I have it with A LOT of things. Sorry.

im-the-worst1.gif

Awwww.... poor li'l ketchup dipper.

WOW! I sure hope that isn't the impression I give off :rotfl:

:rolleyes1

(Your name is now Ann.)

Sure. I can live with that.

Is that good for flattery points?! I'm new to this method of point-grabbing so please bear with me :thumbsup2

 Wrong TR! (Although I did award points from someone else's TR once. But not for flattery, though.)

Brussels sprouts dipped in mustard is my idea of hell

Be gone Satan! And take your hellspawn with you!

Holy cow. So. Many. UPDATES I MISSED!!!

Don't worry about it my love, go at your own pace!

Okay what is up with the beans?! :confused3 Usually we have baked beans with like BBQ, but for breakfast?? I guess I can't knock it till I try it.

So many people are weirded out by the beans for breakfast! They're part of a traditional full English breakfast (baked beans, sausage, bacon, mushrooms, toast, egg, etc) It works, I promise!! I'm sure most of England/UK would agree, I'm not totally weird!!

Oh my gosh, I love ALL of these photos! And the little river by the Tea Cups makes the ride look so romantic and non-threatening :rotfl:

How deceptive!!! :crazy2:

OMG OMG OMG!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: I literally could NOT stop laughing when I saw Aladdin's pic and you're so right it does look like the Nicholas Cage Meme!!! :lmao:

I was cracking up! I wish they sold dolls of him with his face like that  I mean, Aladdin is a cool, good looking guy. Who on earth designed him to look like that??!?!

This is when I don't mind dumb people ::yes::

Exactly. It seems like they all moved from you FP kiosk to DLP's Thunder Mountain line :thumbsup2

That is very odd isn't it?

Yeah, the Partners statue being in the studios doesn't really feel right. It's such a Disney parks icon, it belongs in the classic park! It's definitely an interesting decision to place it there....

:faint: I need to come here ASAP! This is one of my favorite Pixar movies, in fact I just watched it a few nights ago!

You would LOVE the Ratatouille area!!! It's so much better that the pictures! It has the cutest music loop ever gahh I could sit there for hours :lovestruc

Is there anything you weren't scared of as a kid?! :rotfl:

I don't think so :rotfl: Something that amuses me now, is that after Jaws, my second biggest fear was those aliens from the movie Mars Attacks :rotfl2: I was TERRIFIED of them! :lmao:

OT - I ordered some MAC makeup for my SIL two nights ago online from Nordstrom and I was given the option to choose a few free samples, one of them being 'Jo Malone' perfume but I had never heard of it! Does is smell delicious?? I have to place another order here soon so perhaps i'll get that sample next time around.

YES!!! Jo Malone is so delicious. They have really weird sounding smells where you think "...ew" but they smell amazing!! Mine is Earl Grey and Cucumber  And it's magical!! My mum wears Lime Basil & Mandarin which is also really really good. A couple of them smell like bathroom cleaner but if you have the option for either of these two I definitely recommend! :goodvibes
:lmao:I knew EXACTLY where this was from! I love that video!

:rotfl2: I'll never listen to the original song in the same way ever again :lmao: Beauty and the Beat is just genius :lovestruc "There must be more than this old hoodrat life!"

Such a cute shot.:lovestruc

Thank you :goodvibes

Loving the action shots you're getting, who's taking them?

My Dad took most of them, a lot came out a bit but I guess that's what you get with action shots. I really like them too! They capture how much fun this character meal is :lovestruc

I had to look up the conversions...HOLY MONKEY!

Holy monkey :rotfl::rotfl2::lmao: I love this saying.

What a lovely family photo.

Aww thank you :goodvibes This is basically the only shot I got of all four of us, apart from us all looking ridiculous on ride photos :goodvibes

:rotfl2: Now i'm dying to try this! Is it just waaaay to chocolately which makes it gross??

YES It's just outrageously sweet and chocolatey! Just imagine making a drink of hot chocolate but using like 5x the recommended amount of cocoa. It's just hilarious that it's been like this for so long and it hasn't occurred to anyone that it is vile  It still makes me feel warm and fuzzy though :goodvibes

Gah, men.:rolleyes1

SERIOUSLY. I worry about the usual things like him driving home on the motorway through the night, and getting home safe when he goes out with his friends, but I never thought I'd have to worry about him FEEDING HIMSELF :confused3 :rotfl:

You did a great job with the video, so cute!

Haha thank you!!!

Jack in his Santa attire?! :faint: I feel like i've fainted my way across all of DLP!

How cool! I've never been to WDW's Christmas party but I think they have him there, but doesn't he always have a huge line?! I liked that he was meeting outside at DLP so I didn't have to stand in line to catch a glimpse of him :goodvibes

Uhhh, is it always that busy?!

Probably not always THIS busy since everyone was probably out buying Christmas gifts, but it is always fairly busy, it's totally worth it though, it's where all the best shops are, and once you get to the end of the street there's a huge Christmas market :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

This is literally my dream. In High School my room was adorned with Eiffel Towers everywhere (Still have some in places of our house now ::yes::) but I flipped when I realized we had the same Birthday - March 31st. I knew it was meant to be, so I'll get there one day!

This is adorable!! Yes you will!!!! As long as you stay in a decent area (there are some bad ones!) you will love it!!!

STOP STOP STOP! THIS IS REALLY A THING?!?! Ugh, so many things I want and need!!!!

Haha yay I'm glad you recognised SCRUMP!!!! Hardly anyone I know has a clue what she is :sad2:  I couldn't resist!

What does this mean...sorry :blush::blush:

Oooh, oohh! I know this one! Pick me, pick me!

...It means braided ::yes::

...Also, I am going to feel stupid if that's not right :rotfl:

Ah I was thinking either Straightened or Braided, but was leaning more towards Straightened!

:rotfl:I'm sure you're right, cause how can you be wrong!?! ::yes::

Nailed it!! Like this right?

fishtail_plait.jpg

I had no idea you guys don't say "plaited" (pronounced like "platted") :confused3
If someone asked me if they could braid my hair, my British mind would assume you meant those coloured thread braids you get when you're 8 years old :rotfl2:

fb193959ccd953a9d9dc2bcc0e1537d1.jpg

LOL.

Loving your report updates as usual!! Can't wait to read the rest!! Your holiday trip with BFF's looks amazing too!! I guess maybe DLP would be good in the winter despite the cold...because crowds looked pretty light!!

Thanks Kathy! Yeah the crowds were bearable at Christmas! The weekend was a little crazy, and I'm sure around Christmas day is too, but we managed just fine :goodvibes

This is why I like your TRs... the humor is my kind of humor!!

 I'm glad you enjoy it!

Oh parents, when did manners become such an obsolete thing?

Ugh I know. I mean, it's a character meal?! How do people not understand how this works?! THEY'LL GET TO YOU :sad2:

LOL!!! Classic! Again with the humor.

:rotfl2: I'm sure many of the characters are often tempted to give a different finger

Also, your kid looks SO precious in that Winnie the Pooh outfit :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

Just found your trip report. Great pics so far. You are so photogenic.

Thank you!!! I'm glad you're enjoying it :goodvibes although I have PLENTY of un-photogenic pictures that don't make the final cut :thumbsup2  Don't be fooled!!!!

So you're telling me those Lady and the Tramp pajama shorts were like $100 USD? :scared: Nutso.

And as much as you bought that hot chocolate, I'm pretty sure that means you like it. I won't tell anyone your secret, haha. :ssst:

Your Christmas trip looks like so much fun!

Can't wait to hear about your WDW adventures!

YES. What the heck. They were super soft though :lovestruc

Haha, you got me!!! But really, the hot chocolate is truly awful. But it's one of the signature DLP tastes in my mind. It just makes me happy

Yay I've got WDW day 1 all written out so I'll post it as soon as I'm done replying to comments :goodvibes

Ah man, all of your updates are totally making me wish that I was in Disneyland Paris RIGHT NOW!! :mickeyjum It looks like such an amazing park! I loved seeing all of the similarities and differences from WDW. Thanks so much for sharing.

Now on to your WDW trip, Yay! Can't wait to hear all about it!

I'm so glad a bunch of you guys were interested in the DLP stuff, thanks for reading!! I hope you get to see it some time :goodvibes
Yay WDW day 1 is coming once I've replied to these comments :goodvibes

LOVED your DLP trip report and thanks for including the Christmas photos! It doesn't look as crazy busy there as it gets during the holidays at WDW. I think the hotel you stayed at looks really nice - kind of like the Wilderness Lodge while the one you stayed at in Sept. looks like the Grand Floridian. Hmm... I'm planning my dream trip here... thanks for the inspiration! Can't wait to read about your WDW trip!!

Thanks so much for reading! I'm glad you enjoyed it. YES the hotel reminded me of the Wilderness Lodge too! It was the perfect place to stay at DLP at Christmas time in my opinion :goodvibes Awesome, I hope you get out there sometime soon!! :thumbsup2 There's so much else to do in France, and some easy inter-railing options if you wanted to see Italy / Switzerland etc too! Euro trips are so much fun :goodvibes WDW day 1 coming later on tonight hopefully!

Oh wow. That really doesn't make sense - some people just get a little too sensitive sometimes...:sad2:
Thanks so much for reading girl! I'm really glad you enjoyed it, since I understand not everyone would be interested in it.
I literally cannot wait to relive my WDW trip!!! I've got our travel day written out so I'll post it once I've replied to all these comments :goodvibes:goodvibes
Of course! I love reading about your adventures! :lovestrucAnd YAY!:hyper:

What a great trip you had, I really should visit DLP one day!

I'm not sure whereabouts you live but have you heard Earl of Sandwich is opening in Bluewater anytime soon :yay:

YES you should!!!

OMG are you serious?!??!? That's amazing!!!! Thanks for sharing!!! I'm never really in Kent but that would probably be worth a trip next time I'm nearby

Have really enjoyed all your pictures so far, and am looking forward to this! Also, all your various animated gifs just crack me up. :) Thanks for sharing!

Hey! I'm so glad you've enjoyed it :goodvibes And thank YOU for reading  WDW day 1 is on its way :goodvibes

OMG. Sooo many posts!
<rolls up shirtsleeves>

 I didn't want to drag DLP out too much so one weekend I had absolutely no plans so I just wrote the whole thing so that I could move on to WDW :thumbsup2

 I think that's one of the reasons I like you.

But if you actually heard me singing you would probably change your mind  I LIKE singing, but I never said I was good at it :rotfl2:

Yep. Gotta get bubbled....

We're not talking about alcohol here, are we?

Getting bubbled on alcohol and then being bubbled by bubble guns sounds great. Double bubbled :thumbsup2

Oh, phew!
How does one get into this sort of career?
Do you have to go to school for it?

If there was a good University course about Disney, with a guaranteed good job at the end.. I would be right there :teeth:

Stay thirsty my friend.
(And you probably have zero idea what I'm talking about.)

Nope no idea :sad2:

Wait. Let me guess.
He was hot.

Oh dear, you know me well  Nahhhh I would've sung his praises even if he wasn't. He chatted to us for ages and was such a nice, funny person! We all still talk about him :goodvibes

Always the best way to learn a language.
Go where you have no choice but to speak it.

::yes:: I took french at A-Level, and another tip I found useful was watching films you know really well (Disney) in french, with english subtitles :goodvibes It helped me a lot with my sentence structures!

Beautiful shot, Katie. Love the silhouetted trees forming a frame.

Thank you! I like it for this reason too :goodvibes

A corridor is cute?
Makes me wonder how hot that waiter was.

I must admit, my standards are low :rotfl: (just kidding :rolleyes1)

You must've been pretty wrinkly when you woke up in the shower after passing out.

Bahahahah :rotfl2:

Did I ever tell you how when I first visited, they had Julia Robert's red dress from Pretty Woman?

Yes I think you did!!! So cool :lovestruc

"Katie then pitched over the side and plummeted to her death. She's writing this TR via a Ouija board from the other side."

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: you do crack me up.

Perfect. You couldn't have done better. Absolutely spot on.

This is what I wear in my everyday life :rotfl2:

Impressive... But how can you eat?!?!?

This is actually more of a problem I have with the slow moving meals at WDW... Because they come around so slowly, I feel like once they're gone, they're gone, so I find myself making ill-informed decisions on my food selection because I'm so eager to get back to my seat and not miss a character!! At least at DLP I knew that if I missed one they would be back around soon enough :goodvibes

Contrast that with pkondz
"A CM asked me if I'd like to meet Tigger. I said "No"."

You are a crazy man.

That is pretty good.
I wonder what would've happened if he had broken the phone?
It must happen from time to time that things get broken.

I know!? I never fuss for minor things, but that's a really expensive phone..! But I do feel bad for Mickey because of his limited vision from his..... big nose. So it's not exactly his fault. I don't know! :confused3

Who wouldn't be happier after getting a kiss on the nose from Katie???

Owww shucks! :cutie:

And look! There's a beautiful princess in it too!
Too bad her face is hidden by the camera.

Oh pondzi  this was entirely intentional  I was way too tired to sort my face out on this trip :crazy2:

You want to ride to your wedding in that, don't you?

Surprisingly I don't think I would  I want it at Sea Breeze Point at the Boardwalk ...!!!

What an amazing gift! How could anyone top that?!?!?

:rotfl2: It's not that we weren't grateful, the bottle of water was just...unexpected :lmao:I know there's a language barrier, but "gift" probably wasn't the right word :rotfl:

I did! I thought it was quite good, actually.

Thank you!!

Please, please tell me she bought it!

Sadly not, and I didn't see them this year. Maybe they didn't sell well? I can't imagine why.

Hmmm... I'm curious. Define: "SO cold".

Do you Canadians work in Celsius or Fahrenheit ? I'm bad with temperatures but I'm going to guess it ranged from 2c to -2c. So around 30F? It's always cold here in England, but it was four-layers-of-clothing cold at DLP that week!!

We have two in my home town.

Jealous. You must look so pretty :cutie:

You have many, many obsessions, don't you.
I think I like that.

YES. I'm an enthusiastic individual.

Whoa! You really were the last one!

I know! No exaggeration! There are hardcore people at WDW who stay way past closing, I think I'll struggle to beat them. But at least I have the DLP achievement :thumbsup2

Thanks for reading!!

What a lovely trip! I really enjoyed reading it! It makes me want to visit again!!!

Looking forward to WDW addition!

Thanks so much for reading! Yay WDW is coming very soon :goodvibes

Congrats on your Masters too!!! pixiedust:

Hey! Haha, that's awesome, I hope you still did OK in your finals (If you've had them already) :goodvibes Oh cool, keep an eye out for yourself in the background of my photos! :thumbsup2 That's amazing that you live close to WDW, I'm so jealous! Are you driving distance?! UGH if I was I'd spend every weekend there  And thank you for the congrats!

View attachment 139168

I loved the park, especially the Phantom Manor, Disney Dreams (it was holiday themed when we went...frozen I think?), the parade, the BEER IN FRONT OF THE CASTLE (yesyesyesyes) and Alice's Maze. I hated the cigarette smoke/butts/burn marks on the trash cans and the food (but again, was super pregs... so... not normal. I also hated toast. Who hates toast?).

Looking forward to reading on! I head down in a matter of days!! CANT WAIT! :woohoo:

Hey thanks for reading! I love that you guys went to DLP when you went to Europe, Euro-trips are the best, especially when incorporating Disney :thumbsup2 But that kinda sucks that you remember it as "pukey" :rotfl:you should definitely go back and change those associations!

Omg, I LOVE the pregnancy announcement idea! I've not seen that one before. I love Disney announcements! I can already tell the kid is going to have an awesome upbringing with Disney-loving parents :thumbsup2

I totally agree with everything you said you liked and disliked! (Apart from the toast... LOL ) The smoking around DLP is crazy, I think it's much more normalised over there and none of the locals are really that bothered. So when you're used to WDW being squeaky clean it's a bit of a shock! It bothers me the most when you're walking behind someone who is smoking and it all blows back in your face. :sad2:

OH wow I've just looked at your PTR, you've just gone to Disney!!! I hope you have an amaaaazing time!!!! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

55914631.jpg

But seriously, another amazing update - I'm not jealous at all that you live so close to DLP (well closer than a 18 hour flight!).

Can't wait to hear all about the Poly!

:rotfl::rotfl2: Thanks so much! Oh jeez 18 hours!!?! That is crazy. I thought my 7/8 hours to WDW was bad. WDW day 1 is coming up next! :goodvibes

:scared1: The ride in AK is TERRIFYING! It really does make you fear for your life.

I won't ride it again for a long time! As well as it being so rickety, it just feels so unsafe! :scared:

:love::love::love: How cute is he??

He is TOO cute. :lovestruc There should be more Ray merchandise!

Adorable!

Thank you!

The day I can no longer buy the kids version of a t-shirt in Disney clothing is going to be a sad day :sad2:

Haha I know right. It's funny because I'm not crazy about some of the women's clothing at Disney, but I like some of the kids stuff, and I LOVE a lot of the men's stuff!!! So when I can find something that I like and that fits me, I'll snap it up regardless of who it's intended for :goodvibes or maybe I'm having an identity crisis

SO. MANY. WALK AROUND CHARACTERS. I really need a visit to an international park.

You do!!! Although prepare for parents to shove their kids into your character pictures o_O

That is SO crazy to me! Our mall has 2 of them!!

Gaahh everyone seems to have two Sephoras right next door and I don't have ANY! Sadness. Never take it for granted! :thumbsup2

 Wrong TR! (Although I did award points from someone else's TR once. But not for flattery, though.)

Oh boo. I thought that would count. I guess you're back to being an odd-bod.

Oh wow. That really doesn't make sense - some people just get a little too sensitive sometimes...:sad2:

I know :sad2: I re-read it when I saw, but to me the point is clearly, "kids sizes run big" rather than "I am sooooo tiny" ... I mean, I'm not exactly the size of an 8 year old, and everyone can see that from my pictures?! Sorry for the mild rant, I'm half-hoping they see this though

But if you actually heard me singing you would probably change your mind  I LIKE singing, but I never said I was good at it :rotfl2:

 At least you know your limitations.
I can never understand people who really, really can't sing... but think they can.

Getting bubbled on alcohol and then being bubbled by bubble guns sounds great. Double bubbled :thumbsup2

Double trouble.

If there was a good University course about Disney, with a guaranteed good job at the end.. I would be right there :teeth:

I have no doubt.

Nope no idea :sad2:

Thought not. It's from a series of commercials for a beer called "Dos Equis"
Here's a sample (always with the same guy)

I must admit, my standards are low :rotfl:

So you're saying I've got a shot?
Should I be telling Ruby that I'm leaving her and the children?

(just kidding :rolleyes1)

Oh. Nevermind then.
Just as well. She's my lobster.

You are a crazy man.

Yes.

I was way too tired to sort my face out on this trip :crazy2:

:lmao: I immediately thought of Mrs. Potato Head.
"I'm too tired. I'm not putting my nose or ears on."

Do you Canadians work in Celsius or Fahrenheit ?

Celsius of course. Geez girlie we're in the Comonwealth!

I'm bad with temperatures but I'm going to guess it ranged from 2c to -2c.

So.... T-shirt weather. Check.

It's always cold here in England, but it was four-layers-of-clothing cold at DLP that week!!

Four layers? Oh! You meant -40c to -50c!

Jealous. You must look so pretty :cutie:

That's what my magic mirror tells me.
