Day 5
Friday 18th September 2015
Part 1 - Goodbye Disneyland!
Last day!
Boooooooo!!!!
But I suppose that means…
ONLY FOUR MORE SLEEPS UNTIL WALT DISNEY WORLD!!!
So to be honest, the last day blues weren’t too bad today.
But I was still sad that my family trip was over. I haven’t had a family holiday in a while, and I’m SO glad we got to take this trip together
We got up early, but we had to finish packing up the room.
I took a picture to remember my favourite Snow White mirror in the bathroom!
We were done packing by 9am, so we called bell services to come get our bags, and we went to get some breakfast.
I’m sure you all get the idea by now, but you know, “pics or it didn’t happen.”
So here’s what I ate.
(I’m a creature of habit.)
And here’s where we sat
We were sat in the central restaurant area that divides the California Grill and Inventions. So we decided to check out the Inventions breakfast buffet (no characters in the mornings though).
It was all the same food, but the layout was double ended and much more efficient.
It was delicious as always.
After breakfast we went to the lobby to check out.

While we were there I finally got Bill and Mandy’s postcards sent off!
There's a grand-looking postbox in the lobby, which was handy.
Dad completed the check out, but we were only heading back to Arras in the north of France today, so we still had some time to play in the parks!
So we went to say goodbye to my beloved Disneyland park!
We went to Buzz first of course!
We rode for what I thought was the last time, so afterwards I decided to tell everyone about the different shaped targets, and which shapes are worth more points.
Well, of course they wanted to ride again to try it out, and of course I got annihilated
I immediately regretted sharing my knowledge, WHEN WILL I EVER LEARN???
NEVER TELL ANYONE THE BUZZ SECRETS.
Half way through I just threw in the towel like an actual infant, and started to search for any secret hidden targets.
I did not find any.
I lost epically.
BUT I DON’T CARE.
Then we went and rode Space Mountain.
We walked through the line and it was completely empty.
There wasn’t a single person waiting.
We walked straight up to the loading gates, and this was the view of the line behind me.
It was great because we got to ride in row 1!
When we got off we went to see our photo, and we were cracking up, because although we know where the camera is, and we were intentionally pulling faces, James and I had 100% NOT agreed to make the SAME face
What a hilarious coincidence.
We were making sure we got our favourite attractions done today, so I’m sure you can guess that we headed to Frontierland to ride Big Thunder Mountain next!
As I said in a previous update, (in case you missed it):
Well, for the second time, we waltzed straight past everyone who had gathered in one line, and pretty much walked straight onto the ride again
This is me walking through the empty line, past everyone glaring at us:
After Big Thunder we headed back towards the castle.
UGH it’s so beautiful I can’t handle it.
We realised that we didn’t have any photos of all four of us!
(I guess I take the brilliance of Memory Maker for granted now!)
So we asked a nice man to get a picture of us in front of the castle
From here, we tried to go up the castle and out onto the balcony, but the whole upstairs was closed, I think because they were putting up the Halloween decorations!
So I guess I can’t be too mad.
This menacing-looking plant had appeared over night!
My reaction when I’m told I can’t go up my castle:

Oh well.
We went to ride Snow White instead.
(Not every Snow White animatronic in the ride is THIS weird, I swear.
But still, WHAT IS THIS?)
Then we went next door to ride Pinocchio!
How adorable is Figaro in his little cat bed
After these two fairytale rides (which I definitely was not scared of.. Nope, not me), we wandered around to see something that I’ve overlooked for so many years!
In a corner of Fantasyland, right by the castle, there’s a little courtyard, with a seating area. I think it’s outdoor seating for a restaurant there.
It’s so easy to miss, but if you go into that tiny courtyard, you’ll find this beautiful carriage!

There’s also a wishing well, and it’s so detailed with the birds and mice from Cinderella built into it, as well as Lucifer sneaking around the side!
I’m so glad I got to show this to the fam.
I only discovered it a couple of years ago!
Sadly, our time in Disneyland park was up
So we reluctantly strolled up Main Street towards the exit.
BOO.
Well, I guess we don’t have to go home JUST yet…
To the Studios!!!!

As I said in a previous update, (in case you missed it):
Something amazing that we experience EVERY TIME we visit Disneyland Paris, is that the line for Thunder Mountain is split by fencing into two separate queues that run alongside each other.
And, OMG, the herd mentality is SO real with this one.
SO. MANY. PEOPLE. All join one queue, leaving the other one completely empty.
It is hilarious.
I cannot tell you how many times over the years we’ve entered the empty line and walked past basically EVERYONE waiting in the 30+ minute queue and walked straight onto the ride.
(This is one of my number one tips for anyone visiting DLP…
KNOW THAT THERE ARE TWO LINES AT THUNDER MOUNTAIN!!!
AND JOIN THE SHORTER ONE!!!)
