Always a well planned trip when you account for pool time, IMO! Plus the poly pool looks great! On my last trip the gate to the pool was always slightly ajar so we never had to fiddle around with the magicband scanners which sounds like a good thing!
Those beautiful 5 minute wait times make staying up to late in the Magic Kingdom worth it! Plus, sometimes it's just so relaxing to be able to wander through the shops yourself and not have anyone waiting on you!
We HAD to take advantage of the Poly pool! Especially since we visited the Poly for dinner the year before and the place was such a mess, we had to see what all the fuss was about

And you're lucky you didn't have to deal with those magic band scanners! They are not a friend to the average human. It takes a special kind of sorcery to get through
YES I actually don't mind heading off to the parks on my own, especially since Jamie hates shopping so much, I always feel like I'm dragging him through the shops. And I will never complain about having to navigate around small children whilst browsing the displays
So entertaining!
Next time take him with you, sit him down somewhere and then tell people he's sad and misses his mum and needs a hug.

That's what happens when you comment in the middle of the night!
Haha, I'm teasing you pkondzi. Sometimes I read my own comments back and wonder what on earth I was on when I wrote that

also, my S key is a bit broken o unle I hit it really hard my comment ound ridiculou.
I'll keep it in mind.
I haven't looked if leave is even available then....
Hang on, going to look now...
Oh. My. God.
You're not going to believe this.
We have a book where anytime someone puts in a leave request form, the supervisor fills it in so others can see what dates are open and what dates are used (we can only get approval for one person to be gone at a time.)
I looked and... shoot. A bunch of leave is already used up at the end of September.
And then I looked again...
Some of it's mine.
I totally forgot.
I booked off from the 15th to the 23rd (inclusive. And could stretch it to the 25th.)
Hmmmmm......
So. You guys (well, I suppose Hymie doesn't know me, so, you) would like to meet?
Whhaaaaat
@BibbitybobityLu are you hearing this??! Well I'll be there until the 21st so OF COURSE if you happen to be there we'd have to do something!
Have you seen the video? With audio?
I seriously crack up laughing every time I hear it... and then feel so guilty for laughing!
YES! Hahahhaha OW OW OW OWWWWOWWOWWW
This photo!
I'm serious. I think it's a terrific picture.
Probably one of the better ones I've seen on the boards in a long time.
That's why I wanted to know if you'd seen that on your own, or if you copied someone else's shot.
Well thank you!!

No I hadn't copied it, I was just exploring and snapping my way around Fantasyland! I'm very happy you appreciate it
Hi Katie,
I love your trip reports and remembered that you've flown Premium Economy a couple of times now. As this will be mine and my partners first time going to Florida on our own (I'm 24 years old and feel physically ill worrying about EVERYTHING haha), I was looking at flying premium economy instead of economy as Manchester-Orlando is a longgggg flight. Would you recommend it?
I've seen some of the extras that Premium economy has and sounds great, I would just love a personal opinion so then I can get booking
Thank you in advance
Hey! Thanks so much!
I would absolutely recommend Premium Economy from Manchester - Orlando with Virgin! The only downside is you'll struggle to go back to flying economy

it's lush, especially if it's just the two of you. We love having two big seats (bigger than economy) together by the window, rather than being in a three with a stranger

sounds antisocial, but it's such a long flight it's nice to just keep to yourselves, you know?! Also premium economy pays for itself in alcohol! You can ask for as much as you like (within reason), the stewards provide exceptional service too, always super friendly and happy to help

meals are better and lots of snack offerings, more entertainment than economy (I think) and priority boarding, all great! Leaving the plane first is a treat too because the line at immigration gets HUGE.. If you're last off the plane you're in for a lonnnng wait, so that's nice not to worry about! We always make great time between landing and getting to the Magical Express. We've done Premium on three trips to Orlando, both there and back, and we're booked in again in September. I honestly have nothing bad to say about it

It really gets your holiday off to a special start!!! Let me know if you decide to go for it!
Hi Katie
I am really late to the party. I have been reading from the start over the last couple of weeks and was going to wait until I'd read everything to comment but do you know what I'm just going to comment even though I've only got to Wednesday 23rd September 2015 Part 3. I know - thug life!
Hey! No problem, there's plenty more to cover (since I'm too busy/lazy to update!) so in the grand scheme of things, you're not that late
I loved your
Disneyland Paris report. I have not been there. My Mum and Dad took my DD when she was 4 and didn't take me!

I was unselfish and let them be the ones who gave my daughter her first Disney experience. I've made up for it by taking DD and her brother to WDW 5 times.
Thank you! I already love looking back at that report

Haha oh no! If I had a daughter my mum wouldn't dare to take her and not me, she knows she would see my wrath for sure!

That's nice that you've been able to take them to WDW though
As a fellow Brit who has flown on Virgin I totally got what your mini Fab ice lolly was. Kinda cute!
I've just clicked on your avi details and see you're from Scotland? I'm half Scottish, yay! I was just in Edinburgh last week, it's one of my favourite cities in the UK

ANYWAY. I'm glad you appreciate the Fab lolly, I don't even know if Americans use the term "ice lolly" so maybe no one knows what I'm talking about
What a fantastic view from your Poly balcony! I love the water pageant - when we stayed at Wilderness Lodge I used to run out on the balcony when I heard the music. It is so old school Disney!
I miss that view soooo much

it's still surreal to me that we actually stayed in that room. Ooh that's cool that you've stayed at the Wilderness Lodge. I've never stayed there, but I'm about to sing it's praises in a future update! We had the greatest experience at Whispering Canyon Cafe and exploring the resort, I absolutely fell in love with it.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that sings on rides. I have just recently added my first day at Magic Kingdom to my trip report and the alternative lyrics my DS and I sing on Splash Mountain. "Doo be doo, show us your b*m! I always get told off for being a bad influence!
Hahaha, it's funny, I had a few people say they also sing "alternate" lyrics on Splash Mountain

I'm glad we're not the only ones!
Enjoying the trip report.
Thanks so much for reading!
Recently back from WDW. Remember when we talked about the Starring Rolls cupcakes, in your previous trip report? I finally made it to Starring Rolls while they were open, but they had only the red velvet and raspberry cupcakes, and I would have tried a different flavor, so instead I got the banana custard, which was also amazing.
I do remember! Well that's a shame they didn't have any, I hope they haven't stopped doing them

but I'm glad you enjoyed the banana custard, I LOVE banana flavoured goodness, so maybe I'll try that one this year!
If you and your friend visit Arizona then maybe I can meet you two there for dinner some evening.
Awesome! We don't have any specific plans yet, we're just playing with ideas, but I'll let you know for sure!
I love your report! It's my favourite! You're so funny, and it's nice to see another British person! I laughed so hard when you said about a Yorkshire themed hotel!
I love all your pictures, I can't wait to read more!
Aww thanks Rachel!! But I can't believe you said you love my pictures, when YOURS are so amazing! Compared to yours, mine look like they were taken by a 5 year old

Hahah, but thank so much!
Love your report. It's so refreshing to see what a great day trip you had at Universal/IOA. We're going for a day during a so called "not busy" time and I was concerned that it wouldn't be worth it. You guys did so much by 4:30. Did you buy the extra express pass?
Hey, thank you! We absolutely LOVE Universal

We didn't get the Express Pass on that day, but we did later on in the trip, but both visits were fine. If you haven't pre-purchased the express pass, I think it's worth going into the park and checking out the wait times, and assessing the crowds from there. Then if you want to, you can buy the express pass right there in the shops. That's what we did
Hi Katie, I'm Molly!

So late to the party here!! But I've been lurking on both TRs and I think they are fabulous!

. I have had so much fun reading through them! I also have a quick question as well. I saw that when you stayed at the GF, you had a room in Big Pine Key! Did you like that location?? Thinking of requesting there when my mom and I go in September. Thanks, girl!! Excitedly awaiting a new update
Hi Molly!
Aww thanks so much!! I'm really glad you're enjoying both reports

Yep yep yep, we loved Big Pine Key! It's a great location, no effort at all to get to the main building

although I don't really think any of the buildings are particularly "bad", I'm sure you'll have a great time wherever you end up! I'm jealous, I have SUCH great memories of staying at the Grand! It's definitely the most special resort I've stayed at, I hope you have an amazingggg time
Soon Tim soon!!!! Very soon!! Like maybe right now
Hi Katie! Random lurker coming out of hiding to say thanks for your amazingly detailed TRs and, more importantly, for your consistent use of Arrested Development gifs. (Because what good are awesome Disney pictures/commentary without a side of Lucille Bluth??)

Looking forward to the next update!
Hey! Thank you! Glad you're enjoying it

Also, I love your username

And thank you for appreciating the genius that is Lucille Bluth

she might be my favourite fictional character ever on TV

New updates coming up!
I am so upset.
I came here going "man, haven't heard from Katie in a while, let me go check on her TR."
Only to find out, I never replied to your last update.
But I honestly thought I had. Like was 100% sure I had replied.
But I did not.
Because what happened is...I have lost my mind.
That's the only logical explanation!
So...yeah.
I love you sister wife friend and loved your updates even though I never replied to them
Hope you're well! Can't wait to read more! And this time I will respond...and not just in my mind
Oh darling you know there is no place for distress on this trip report

there are no rules here!!! Just come and go as you please, no need to apologise sister wife

I hope you loved Vegas too!!! Mini TR please!
