Just got back on Saturday from our awesome vacation! Had a great time. Got rained on at the parks but it was great just the same (low crowds!). We did have hot and sunny weather as well so we had a nice mixture. I was dreading going to work today. I really hate my job. I was crying this morning and was sick to my stomach just thinking about going back. But I went of course.
Anyway, while I was gone my BFF got a new job and handed in her resignation. She ended up talking to her boss about me and her boss asked if I could send her my resume. So, I did it Sunday night. At around lunch time today my BFF sent me a text, saying her boss would like to talk to me over the phone, when would be a good time for her to call me. I replied back saying I was just going home for lunch so I could talk to her then. They
asked me if I could come into the office. I panicked - my current job is extremely casual so I was just wearing jeans and didn't have my hair done nicely or even any makeup on like I normally would for an interview. They said they didn't care, as long as I had clothes on (ha! ha!) So, I went there (its about 3 minutes from my current job) and had a quick interview. They hired me on the spot!!! More $$, personal days and three weeks paid vacation! Way better than my current job. And thankfully that office was very casual too so I didn't feel out of place in my jeans! LOL
My BFF came over for dinner and she said that her boss and co-worker who interviewed me absolutely loved me. They were all so nice and welcoming and my BFF says I will be much happier there. She has no complaints about the job really. It was just that her dream job fell into her lap and she couldn't turn it down.
I'm so happy!! I received a written offer of employment from them this evening and I've already signed it and scanned it and emailed it back - ITS DONE! I start on April 18th. All I have to do now is hand in my resignation letter tomorrow. Its done, printed and signed. I'm not looking forward to my boss' reaction but oh well. She won't be surprised, no one is happy there right now and I'll be the 4th person to quit in a month. Someone left two weeks ago, someone last week, another girl's last day is the 13th and I'm leaving on the 15th. My coworkers definitely won't be happy - things are such a mess there right now. But I have to do what's right for me.
Anyway, I am just so excited and had to share!!
