The reality of going to WDW after 10 or so years is finally hitting me! Today I received my written confirmation from the CRO confirming my room at the GF. We leave on October 14th!

Today I also received my tickets for the parks. I ordered two 5-day park hopper tickets. They are actually little credit cards with a magnetic strip on the back. One is green with Goofy on the front and a paint brush, and the other is red with Donald and a paint pallet. Both say "100 Years of Magic - Walt Disney World".

I think they look quite nice, although I would have loved to have them personalized with our names imprinted. This would make them a nicer keepsake, but also would be great for security purposes. At $230 bucks a pop, these are not a cheap item to replace if lost/stolen, and think having them personalized would add piece of mind, and prevent mis-use. I wonder if Disney has considered doing this, at least for the more expensive passes?

I also made reservations for the Polynesian Luau for the 8pm show on Tuesday (October 15). I hope I have not made a mistake with this, since I've been reading a lot of mixed feedback regarding the show. This show really had an impact on me as a child (I loved everything tropical), so I'm hoping I will still enjoy it as an adult. The person going with me had no interest in the Hoop DeDo, so that is another reason I opted for the Luau. BTW, I had no trouble getting reservations even though it's only a couple weeks away.

All that's left to do now is fax the room assigner at the GF four days prior to my arrival with my room requests.

Thanks to everyone on the site for the expert advise! It has really put me in a 'Disney' state of mind! :)

To have your passes "personalized", you would need to purchase an annual pass, which costs @$150 more. Even that would not prevent an unscrupulous person from trying to use your pass should they "find" it. The most important thing you can do to protect your investment is to copy the numbers off the back of your passes(or better yet, photocopy the back) and store it somewhere separate from the actual passes. I make 2 photocopies...1 goes into the glove box in my van, and the other in the drawer of my desk. My reasoning is simple...should we lose the passes while at WDW, I can retrieve thier numbers from my van. Should my van be stolen while there, and I lose my passes, my neighbor can use my spare key and retrieve my numbers from my desk. Should my house burn down, I can retrieve my numbers from my van. As long as you can provide guest relations with numbers, your passes can be replaced. NOW, if my house burns down while I am at WDW, and my van is stolen and I lose my passes, I am royally screwed(LOL). Hope you have fun...10 years is a long time to wait!

LOL! :) :) That really made me smile! I sincerely hope that never happens..... or boy do you have some bad luck!

Great idea about the passes. The only numbers I see are in the top right corner on the back. There is a date, WTS #, and a Tr: #. I will write all that down and put in a safe place.

Thanks again!

I highly recomend recording the ticket numbers somewhere...last summer when we were at the AK my hubby put the tickets in his pocket after passing through the entrance gates. He then pulled out a map from the same pocket a few minutes later. So off we went to get our first Fast Pass only to find one ticket missing.. He was so upset. There is a happy ending however...some sweet person found the ticket and immediately took it to guest services. I gave the CM our numbers and we were off to enjoy the rest of our day in the park.
I am the keeper of the tickets from now on....:)

eroller, did you buy the tickets before or after the increase, and if after, did you get them at the "buy before you go" discount? I am trying to figure out how much I saved using my company discount, but with all the changes, it's hard to tell.

Hi Marsha,
I believe my tickets were purchased after the increase, with no discount except the "buy before you go" one that you mentioned.

I paid:
$217.00 Base
$ 13.02 Tax
-----------------
$230.02 Total

Hope this helps!
