Hello, and welcome to my pre-trip report! I love to plan, so I though I would plan 'out loud' to all of you! :thumbsup2

Dates of Trip: September 25 - October 2, 2013
Resort: Disney's Pop Century Resort w/ Free Quick Service Dining!

"Why will you be making all the clothes?", you may ask. I love to make things, and have been creating a lot of the accessories and stuff that I will wear/use on this trip! Everyone keeps joking with me that I will eventually be making everyone's clothes for the trip, too!
:lmao:

Cast of Characters:

Tacky_zps1c237384.jpg

My DH and I are pictured here, wearing our wedding ears, with the Tacky Tourists during our Disneymoon! This will be around my 21st or so trip, and my DH's 8th or so. (I go every chance I get! lol)

***Side note: we have seen the Tacky Tourist guy on every trip since our Disneymoon back in 2005! He currently works at Flights of Wonder! My plan for this next trip is to make a sort of scrapbook of all of our photos with him! (I love to make things, as you will see!) Then when we hopefully see him again, we can show him! I do think he remembered us last year though! :woohoo: End Side Note***

My Mom, Dad, brother (Jacob, 23) and nephew (Taigen, 6) will also be joining us for a few days! It will be my nephew's very first Disney trip!

The rest of us have all been before, but my parents and brother have never stayed on property! When we would go on Disney trips when we were younger, we would stay with family near Cocoa Beach, and drive aalll the way to Orlando each day! I am so excited for them to see how different it is to be staying at a Disney resort! :cheer2:

Our Plans

[This is nowhere near the detail this pre-trip report will eventually have! :) It is a super rough draft so I can keep everything together, and maybe get some suggestions on traveling with such a large group!]

This could be a very crazy trip! I recently found out that some of our family from Florida will possibly be driving over in their motor home to stay at Fort Wilderness while we are at Pop Century!

I am super excited to have everyone along... But that will bring our total up to 11 people - 4 of those children!

The only park we will *all* be doing together is Magic Kingdom on the Saturday.

Day 1 (Wednesday) - Most of us are arriving on this day. My parents, Jacob, and Taigen are driving from TN, leaving early enough to hopefully get to Pop Century in the afternoon. DH and I are flying in from TX, hoping to get there in the morning. We are all just going to take it easy on this afternoon/evening. Enjoy the pools, maybe go to Downtown Disney for dinner and DisneyQuest (it would probably just be me, Jacob, and DH for DisneyQuest).

Day 2 (Thursday) - This is our Animal Kingdom day. (DH and I will have Park Hoppers, but we are still staying at AK all day this day, since the rest of my family will only be doing two days at the parks, and we all want them to have a nice full day.) AK closes at 6pm, so if we didn't get to DisneyQuest the evening before, we will do it this evening.

Day 3 (Friday) - This is an off day as well. Enjoy the pools and other resort activities, maybe show my family one of the other cool resorts. Perhaps Downtown Disney again. **Now this is where it gets complicated - to me anyway!** The rest of my family from FL (Aunt, Uncle, and three cousins) will be arriving this evening at Fort Wilderness. I would like for the rest of us to head over and meet up with them there, so that we can maybe all do the Chip and Dale Campfire Sing-A-Long and movie - if that doesn't run too late.

Day 4 (Saturday) - This is our Magic Kingdom day. I have no idea. lol I know my uncle already mentioned to my Mom that they could all head back to the resort and swim and stuff mid day. I really wish I could talk my mom into not doing that though. If you only have one day in a park, I would think you would not want to spend part of it at the resort pool! We never took a break like that when Jacob and I were younger! I think my uncle just thinks my cousins can't handle being in the park all day or something. I dunno. I know Taigen will be fine - that kid never stops! If they do end up doing that anyway, DH and I will probably hop on the monorail over to Epcot to check out the Food and Wine festival.

Day 5 (Sunday) - Everyone except for DH and I will be heading back home - we'll be there until Wednesday. I haven't worked out the rest of our schedule yet. I think they are not leaving until mid-afternoon though, so they could still enjoy the resort for a few hours!

The rest of the week I am still working on! Like I mentioned before, this is a super duper rough draft! ;)

Dining Plans

We are just sticking with the Quick Service Dining Plan for this trip. I didn't want to have to deal with reservations and sticking to a schedule around dining times! Although we may squeeze in a meal at Sanaa sometime during the week!

I do have a list of CS places that are a 'must do' for us though!

MK:
Columbia Harbour House
Be Our Guest
Cosmic Ray's

Epcot:
Seasons
Tangierine Cafe
Lotus Blossom Cafe

AK:
Flame Tree BBQ
Pizzafari

DTD:
Wolfgang Puck Express
Earl of Sandwich
Pollo Campero

Resorts:
Everything Pop
Landscape of Flavors
Captain Cook's
The Mara

Shopping List

I always keep a shopping list going as well! ;)

1. Cinderella Castle WDW Stained Glass Sun Catcher
2. Mickey Ears for my nephew - his first pair! :goodvibes

I'm in! Sounds like an awesome trip. Unfortunately, we'll just miss each other: we'll be at Pop Century from Sept 10-21st!

So far for this trip, I have purchased this waist pack to carry with me every day to the parks:

I think it will be perfect for park touring!! I wanted something smaller to carry this year, and didn't want anything on my shoulders. This is perfect! It's a great size - park maps easily fit inside with out getting crunched up. There is a zippered pocket on the inside, and another small zippered pocket on the back. The zipper pocket on the back would be perfect for storing Fastpasses and Key to the World cards since it's secure and easy to get to! And it's nice and thin - not like a normal fanny pack. :) So it doesn't stick out and bump into everything. lol

I also made this tote for more casual evenings, and to carry things down to the pool.

It's a standard size tote bag that I beaded with my initial wearing Mickey ears!! The beaded letter is about 6" tall from the top of the ears to the bottom of the 'A'.

I'll use it for carrying sunscreen, refillable mugs, etc. back and forth to the pool! I may do a hobo-style bag with the same design; I haven't decided yet!

Oooo - I love a big family trip! And I love crafty Disney stuff too! Can't wait to see more!

I love the tote! I can't wait to see what else you make! I need new ideas for this year!

I hadn't seem that waist pack before, I like it because it doesn't look like a traditional fanny pack.

I look forward to reading more!

I am so nervous about the 'big' part! lol I'm sure we'll all have a great time, but being the planner that I am I just have no idea how to get everyone organized!

Thank you!

I LOVE the waist pack! It is seriously the perfect size. I love the shape, and it is completely hands free. With the bag I use now, I have to slide it around to get anything out! (It's actually the Baggallini messenger, which I heard about here! I have loved it for years, but I am just ready for something smaller that will not be hanging on my shoulders.)

I also figure I could also use the belt loop on my camera case and attach that to the waist band! Then I don't have to dig around or open the waist pack when I need my camera! And still hands free! :cool1:

Made a monorail hair clip for the trip!

I think I will make another for the other side. Then it will look like the monorail is cruising around my head. :lmao:
