Every so often I have to ask, just to get some diff ideas

How about Chinese Pie (or Shepherds Pie as some people wrongly call it)?

In a casserole dish, layer the browned hamburger, then mashed potatoes, and top with corn, either whole kernel or creamed. I use a combo of the two. Throw it in the oven to warm it up, and you're good to go.

tator tot casserole?

brown ground beef mix with cream of something soup and seasonings ( just do it to taste, onion, garlic, whatever you like) top with tator tots and sprinkle shredded cheese on top of that.. cook till tator tots are done.. you can also add veggies ( but my kids wont eat it then lol)

**edited to fix my typos sorry maybe you all can understand it now lol)

Oh Binny ~ that sounds wonderful! I don't have tator tots but I have hash brown patties that I could use.....hmmm.....thinking seriously about this. I think I have cream of mushroom soup too! Woo hoo!! Sounds like something I'd like to try. I doubt my 8 y/o will eat it though. I think we still have his accelerated reader pizza coupon though, so he can have his pizza. DS2 will eat anything & everything.

My kids love it!

Its so easy and quick, takes about 25 minutes to cook and about 5 minutes to put together.

BTW were having beef stew in the crock pot. :) You all inspired me, I just went and put it together.

I guess my last answer wound up is cyber-space somewhere.

Mishetta, these were my Mother's recipes. I use to love to watch her cook and I guess some of them just got stuck in my brain.

GSL There are no fuzzies. It works on the principal of making plain boiled rice. one cup rice to 3 cups water only in this case you use stock. I does smell very good as a matter of fact.

Mom's recipes are always the best, aren't they?

I don't make anything special but whatever I make (usually) my DS8 will ask "how do you make that taste so good Mom?" I tell him that I always add a special 'secret' ingredient to all my recipes. He then will ask me quietly "what is it?" I tell him "a cup of love." Then he rolls his eyes & says "oh Mom!"

I know I'm having some kind of potatoes and green beans, I just haven't figured out the meat yet. Maybe some grilled chicken breasts. And maybe some cornbread.

Browneyes ~ I made chicken breasts last night & cut it up & served rolled in a warm flour tortilla with chopped fresh tomato & chopped cucumber & a dash of ranch dressing with a sprinkle of grated monterey/jack cheese. It was soooooo yummy!

The only thing missing that would have made that taste even more incredible was some fresh chopped cilantro!! YUMMY!!!

We are having a turkey breast in the crockpot tonight with smashed potatoes and a vegtable. (frozen turkey breast were on sale yesterday at the store).

One of our favorite ground beef recipes is to make chili. I like Bushes chili mix, it comes in a can and all you add is ground beef and tomato sauce. The Texas style is good and kind of spicey. I serve the chili over baked potatoes topped with cheese. I love good old american but some like shredded cheddar. If you never tried chili this way, YUM! My kids love it.
