This is SO frustrating. The only way DH agreed to a WDW trip is that we squeeze it in between two weekends that he is working. He will be doing sound and video screens for a Darryl Worley concert one weekend, and a concert for the Trail of Tears motorcycle ride the next.
He'll be working very long hours on Saturdays, will be pooped after these gigs, number one, not to mention there are some pretty small windows of flight times we can use. Any other trip, we'd have no problem flying out of Memphis, Nashville, Birmingham etc.
So...we will be trying to fly out of Huntsville, Alabama, non-stop on Delta. Usually no problem...usually pretty cheap. I don't want to be on a plane all day, either.
Here are the prices I've gotten this week:
Nashville-MCO $83 (but we'll have to drive 3 hours to get there, getting up at 4am after he worked til 1am)
Birmingham-MCO $83 (but a 2 hr drive to get there, getting up at 5am)
MUSCLE SHOALS, AL- MCO $145 (which is where we'll BE staying..but we get on the plane at noon, fly to freaking MEMPHIS, then not get to MCO until 5pm)
Huntsville-MCO $240!!!! I guess I get what I pay for, right? A non-stop, 10:15-12:55 flight that is 45 minutes away from my mom's house.
I know you guys don't care...but this is SO frustrating! I hate to ask him to get up super-early and drag him 200 miles just to save $200. Truth is, we'll probably end up paying for the Delta flight, because he keeps dragging his feet and telling me to wait and see if it goes on sale (which it hasn't in over a month). What does he care? I'm footing this trip!
I'm actually thinking that it is DELTA that is not on sale, now, not the airport. I can fly out of Huntsville pretty cheaply on other airlines, I just have to change planes in Guam to get to Orlando.
