Ever won a Disney trip?

After entering The Cars sweepstakes and dreaming of winning. I wondered if anyone has won a trip to Disney after becoming owners of DVC?

It sounds like you may believe that being DVC owners offers us some sort of advantage in promotions or contests. Nothing could be further from the truth. There are no special "trip drawings" or promotions for DVC members. At least I've never seen any.

If a DVC member won a trip contest, he or she did so with the same "odds" as anyone else. I have seen where a few members here have won various "public" promotions but it was not because of any "advantage" they gained by being DVC.

No, I just entered a sweepstakes for Disney movie Rewards and thought it would be funny if I won a trip to Disney now that I am a DVCer.

Doorway to Dreams in Chicago celebrated their opening anniversary with a big party for DVC Members and I was the lucky winner of their Grand Prize (among a few others) of a Fantastic Trip to WDW in a DVC Villa, for 4. This included plane flights, park tickets, food, souvenir spending money, and all taxes paid!

There is another DIS Member who won also. We took one of my DD's and my mom to AKV Jambo House and had a fantastic time! Best thing I ever won in my entire life!

We were the other lucky winner of the Doorway to Dreams sweepstakes. It was a trip of a lifetime, and both my kids still have a couple dollars left on their prize gift cards! This trip was what ruined us for ever again trying to pack the (now teenaged) kids into a studio with us. Our one-bedroom villa AKV (the location we chose for our prize trip) convinced us one bedrooms were the only way to go when we go with kids.

Many times during the prize trip when we'd be sitting on a bench at Epcot eating ice cream or climbing into our Splash Mountain log we'd pause and say "Thanks, Mickey!" It became a trip joke.

Before that, we had never won anything except an umbrella.

That is so cool for both of you. Everytime I enter a DMR sweepstake I just HOPE I win. An extra trip paid for would be AWSOME!!

DW won a trip to DL several years ago (2003?), before we owned DVC. It was our first stay at the GC, which we did eventually buy in 2009. 3 or 4 nights, airfare, park tickets, gift card for food. I think the prize was valued at $4,000 when I got the 1099.

The happy part for us/sad part for some others is that DW wasn't the first winner. The sweepstakes had been closed for about 6 months when she got the email. So for those selected first, thanks for your spam blocker or for not checking your email (the notice came from an outside marketing company Disney uses to administer the sweepstakes)!!!

My luck with winning is not good I could be the only person entered into a drawing/contest and somehow not win! Oh well, maybe some day the sun will shine on my parade.

A few years ago we won 2nd place in a contest just for dvc members that we saw on america's funniest videos it was for 4 nights in a 2nd villa including park tickets the dining plan and spending money

Not a trip to Disney, but on the 2006 DVC Member Cruise my DH won one of the grand prizes at the sales presentation which was a one week trade out with II. We picked the Marriott Ko Olina and fell in love with the area. Now we are proud owners at DVC Ko Olina!

Right before we became DVC members in 2005 we won a 5 night trip to WDW for four from Alamo on a single entry.

While doing the planning for the additional nights we bought a resale contract.

I did win a Lufthansa trip to Europe a few years ago.
My Dad won a car.

won a trip to Euro Disney back in 1994. Air fare and hotel included for 4.

Yes we won...just last year! My DD won a contest from Verizon Wireless to DL for the World of Color contest. It was included airfare, hotel (Paradise Pier), park tickets, exclusive Party at California Adventure, and park tickets for 4. I think when she got the 1099 form it was valued at over $6,000.00!!! We had a blast and my DD took a friend to enjoy it with us. The bummer was paying the taxes for the trip.

I won a trip back in 1995 from a local NYC radio station. All expenses paid including food for 4 people in ASSports. Was a great trip Of course now that I am a DVC member I am not sure I could stay at a value and let alone put 4 adults in one room - lol
