Ever Taken Your Dog(s) to Universal Hotel With You?

I would still like some input on where to walk your dogs - anyone?? I would guess that there is a designated area for this, or not?? I was hoping I would be able to take my dogs and myself (when the time comes) to go for a nice walk somewhere on property. :thanks:

They have designated areas for walking the dogs and they are shown on your hotel map. My dogs liked HRH the best since the windows were low enough that they could watch the pool activities and we walked them over to the canal waterway to watch the water taxis go by.

Thanks everyone for the help! I'll be taking my two pooches along so I'll let you know how it goes! :)

We took our chihuahua to the Portofino a couple of years ago & had a great vacation! Enjoy it!

Ariel,
We are leaving for Universal with our baby Henry tomorrow July 11.
When will you be there with your babies?
My dog Henry has been there every year....for many years! He is a platinum member at Loews Universal....they have been wonderful

Not to high-jack this thread but I was wondering if you have to remove your doggie from the room whenever you leave to go to the parks ? I was thinking of staying at one of the universal hotels just so I could take my doggie with us, but if I have to remove him during the day it kind of defeats the purpose. Also does anyone know how far the hotels are from WDW..thanks and sorry for the high-jack. :flower3:

Not that I have gone there with mine, but I am sure you can leave the dogs (I know they have a Do Not Disturb sign to put on your door, so no housekeeping will come in then). I too am thinking that I might take advantage of this even when I go to Disney, just so I can have them with me. I wish at least ONE Disney hotel would also allow this.

According to the Loews rules...if there are any complaints while you are not there (ie your dog is barking a lot and someone has complained) I think then you might be asked to board your dog in the kennel during the day, when you are not there and then keep them with you again at night.

Hope this helps.

Oh and BTW...I THINK Universal is about 20-30 minutes from Disney - please anyone...correct me if I am wrong.

:offtopic: I wish so much that disney would have at least one pet friendly hotel too...I really wish I had a friend that could watch my pup while we vacation, but no such luck, not even one pet loving friend  We have a travel trailer and took it to Ft at WDW last time we went but I felt like I worked myself to death so I really want to try a nice hotel next time. I can't see ever kenneling my dog, so I'm stuck. I know WDW would make money on a pet friendly hotel, so I don't get it.

We took Scruffy with us last year to PBH and it worked out fine. Everyone a the hotel was so friendly towards him, of course it helps that he thinks that everyone has to love him, ;) . At check in he received a shopping bag full of goodies, treats, bowls and place mat, Dog food can cover, etc, it was really cute. We were water view, our building was right in front of the water lauch dock so it was very convenient to everything. He's a shih-tzu, so he's tiny, you can imagine my surprise when a lifeguard walks by the grotto pool with a huge bowl (can you say wash tub?) of water and I turn and see a man seated at a table with the biggest Great Dane I've ever laid eyes on. THe dog was so well behaved that I hadn't even noticed it before hand.

Would I take him again? Well, if we return to US/IOA I will probably say yes, although it was a bit of a pain, but basically because it's a 7 hour drive with a fur baby in my lap the whole way! :lmao:
