Hi everyone. We will be going down for our annual trip to WDW during President's week. The kids are thrilled out of their minds! :Pinkbounc :woohoo: :yay: and I have to admit that DH and I are pretty excited as well!

Anyway, we will be staying at OKW (our home resort) in a studio for the first few nights in a studio and then transfer over to BCV.

Anyone know where the studios are at OKW and are there more desirable ones than others? Are there any near the Hospitality House? We've never stayed at a studio before at OKW so I need help.

Thanks so much. You guys are always so helpful :wave2:

Studios at OKW for the most part are the lock-off portion of a 2-b/r villa. There are a few dedicated Studios.

There are studios in every building on property.

Hi we stayed in building 26 which was over the road from the hospitality house, be aware that we were told that the tractors / lawnmowers ? start on the fairview golfcourse by 7 am, we were in a ground floor studio and it was very very noisy. ps we weren't told about the groundskeeping until after we'd mentioned the noise level, it was right outside our patio area at 7am ! I've read great reviews on OKW which is why we gave it a try this time round, not for us and we'll be sticking with BWV from now on. Very pretty resort but we had some issues that spoiled it for us. Hope you have a great time.

We stayed in a OKW studio 1/19 to 1/23 and loved it. Check out my post for my review. I would not get too worried about the building. The transportation is great thru-out the resort.

We have stayed in a studio 3 timnes and for the two of us it is perfect. They are scattered through the resort. We have stayed in the South Point area each time. We like it down there because it is away from all the activity of HH. If you have small kids, being close to HH is a plus. We have walked from South Point to HH several times and it only a 6 or 7 min. walk. The stuido is very large compared to BV studio or for that matter any other DVC room. They just don't make the rooms as big now and OKW being the oldest, it has the larger rooms. The other BIG plus OKW has is the parking. Each building has its own parking area right outside. I don't think we ever had to park more than a 100 ft. from our room on any of our trips...smjj

We love OKW!!! It is our home resort with 2 contracts.

Studios are in all the buildings. We prefer the Southpoint area, as it is a bit more secluded. If you want something closer to the main area (check-in, gift shop, restaurant, main pool) then justrequest it that way...they do their best to fulfill the requests.

Truth be told though, every bus stops at the main area before it leaves the OKW property, so if you get placed in an area farther from the main area, just hop on any bus to get you there if walking is an issue.

OKW has 3 areas besaides the "main" area...Southpoint, Turtle Pond, and Miller's Road. All 3 areas have a pool with hot tub, so oyu are never far from a pool.

One way to avoid the disapointments mentioned earlier, is to request upper floor and stay away from the high traffic buildings like 29, 63, 14, and 62. These buildings are closer to the road, and if you happen to get a studio (there are all on the ends of buildings) on the road side of the building, it could be noisy. We have had more than 20 OKW stays, but have only had a studio twice, so don't have a lot of studio advice other than that.

We just stayed in 6315 for 5 nights. I have to say, after staying in a one-bedroom, this was somewhat of a let down. I expected the room to be bigger based on all the comments here about how great OKW is. We never really had an issue with noise and the location was great, we could walk to the HH easily.

I am a spoiled brat but I wouldn't stay in a studio again, the change from a one-bedroom is too great and not having a washer/dryer is a major issue. I know there are lots of people who love OKW, but for us the themeing was non-existent, it really didn't feel like Disney when you compare it to VWL or BWV.

Just my .02

We just got back from a weekend trip in a studio at OKW - this was our first time at this resort. We stayed in room 2915 - a 1st floor studio on the road end of the building - and it was very noisy from the buses, cars and golf carts driving by.

It did give us a rather negative view of the resort, but I expect we will give it another try in the future, probably in a 1 or 2 BR unit next time.

Stayed in building 14, loved it.

We stayed directly accross from the Hospitality House and buses on the third floor. I don't remember what number it was, but I asked to be close to the pool. It was great!

We rarely stay in studios at OKW (we prefer the 1-2 bedrooms), but we did have a very nice, quiet view in bldg 43 (Old Turtle Pond area) most recently. The view was of a small lake.....ducks came up to the patio every day.

:cool1: Thanks for all the info on OKW and the studios. I know that I can always count on you guys for great feedback. That's what I love about DVC!

Also, to MiaSRN62, I checked out your pictures from OKW and took a peek at the Disney Cruise pictures. They are wonderful. Thanks for sharing that with us. The canal view at OKW looked really nice.

We have stayed at BCV and OKW and I like both for various reasons. I do like having two beds at OKW and the studio is bigger than BCV studios. I like BCV for the location.
Enjoy both resorts and hope you have lots of magic on your trip!

Thanks for the compliment on the pics New York Minnie. Glad u enjoyed them :)
