Well, here's your chance to tour one of these beauties that are available to rent on your Castaway Cay day during your Disney Cruise. This gorgeous oasis is a picture perfect splurge for sure!

Have you rented one before? Share what you love about them with us!

they are very pricey it's true, but really nice to have...
i rented a cabana on the adult beach when i took my elderly mom and sister on a cruise on the disney dream a few years ago...
both are mobility challenged and shouldn't be in the sun too much, so the cabana was absolutely perfect for them..
we took transportation out to the adult beach and then were driven to our cabana..
other than lunch, my mom was in the cabana the entire time..
my sister and i only left to go on a bike ride...the rest of the time in the cabana....definitely worth it for that cruise..

i'm going again next summer with DH, DD and DSIL....for that cruise, we won't take a cabana as we'll probably only spend a few hours on CC...
a long bike ride, lunch at cookies or serenity bay, and then probably back on the ship...
so no cabana this time around..

We love the Cabanas, we have had one on Serenity Bay and one on Family Beach.

We will try to get one on every cruise we go on, but they are hard to get even if you are platinum. You have to persistently check and see if one becomes available.

My husband and I are excessive folks....a cabana sounded right up our alley. We are always up for paying for exclusive experiences and extras that can keep us from waiting in lines, etc. we got a cabana on our Magic cruise last Christmas. While the cabana is lovely and the service is fun, we spent hardly any time in it as we were riding bikes, eating or swimming or walking the beach almost all day. I don't even look to see if one is available now.

My family had the pleasure of reserving a Cabana in 2014. Wow, we loved it. We loved the privacy, all the perks and the private beach.

Would loved to reserve one every time but we will have to see how the wallet is in the future.
We were booked in Concierge for the first time on that cruise and we were able to book the Cabana very early. We were cruising late August and it was only a 3 night cruise so the Concierge was unbelievably affordable.

Love Cabana #25 on Serenity Bay. We have it booked again for our 2017 cruise. Perfect for relaxing with a good book and love the fridge w/ cold towels and bottled water.

And plenty of us don't bother going ashore at CC unless we have one. Different strokes and all that garbage.

Exactly. And I never said there was anything wrong with the people who DO feel that way, but the poster I quoted did not say "for us", making it read that it is the only way for anyone.

I'm with you. I spent most of my life living near a beach or at the beach. At this point I need shade or my dermatologist would yell at me. It's a nice perk and I understand why some folks don't feel the need for one.

i live 10 minutes from the med and am at the beach several times a week...
which is why i only get off the ship for a nice bike ride, lunch, souvenir shopping, then back onto the ship..
the ship's the destination for me :)

and this reminds me - we were thinking of trying out the slides in the water this time, but got hung up on that whole sea lice thing..

can someone tell me whether or not there are actually sea lice in the water in august? and if you feel them etc etc.
what i've read has me so turned off and i certainly don't need to go swimming given i live where i can swim all year round...
but we did want to try out those slides...but not if it's totally disgusting... LOL...
so does anyone know what it's like at the end of august? thanks! :)

Hi Beth! I don't usually go in the water so I have not been personally affected by the sea lice, however this past August while at CC we heard several guests on the beach complaining about pain. Some kids felt it and the parents didn't know what it was then other parents were telling them about it and giving them stuff to use, etc... It seemed to be a common issue in the area we were in. With that said, it was our 18th time to CC and the first time I have witnessed anything like this. :)

Hi!! you probably don't remember, but i believe our very first ever disney cruise (and first visit to CC) was on a cruise that you also were on!!! many many many years ago!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks for the answer - though i don't think it was the one i was hoping to hear!! LOL.....
so i guess we'll pass on the slides and just stick to a nice long bike ride....not a loss really...and we love riding bikes on the island...

We've been fortunate enough to have a CC cabana twice. Once was on the family beach and the second was at the adult beach. For us it was a wonderful experience. We've stopped at CC many times and enjoy the island. Having a cabana is a somewhat different experience though because of its seclusion and creature comforts. If it weren't for the price we would bet a cabana every time we stopped there.

I'm hoping one becomes available. I'm not a "sit in the sun" person so I want a covered shelter to nap in. They are all reserved for our Feb trip but hopefully someone cancels and I can snag it.

I forgot to mention. My DH is not a sun lover, so he really appreciated the shade. We were there in August, so it was so nice to bring our lunch back to the Cabana and chill in the shade. We were in Cabana #6, which was so convenient to the restrooms and Cookies.

Also, we had a pm downpour, 75% of the people left the island back to the ship. We just hung out in our Cabana and then went back in thee water once the storm passed. We got to spend more time on CC that day because of the Cabana.

If I could get one everytime I would, but have no problem enjoying CC without one too!
