Ever rented a van for the drive to WDW?

We were thinking of renting a full size van with a DVD/VCR built in for our trip next June. With 5 of us, driving will definitely be more economical.

Has anyone ever rented a car to drive to WDW in? Where did you rent from? Was it worth it?

Double check your quote/agreement to make sure you don't have a limited number of free miles or restrictions on taking the van out of state.

My family is from Mentor OH area. I dont know if you know where that is or not but my sister is renting a van to drive down to Disney in November for 11 days total and her rate was around $450. I really dont think it is too bad of a rate and we can keep looking for discounts between now and then. She rented through Hertz and gets unlimited mileage. Hope that it helps you.

We've rented a minivan for the trip down from NY. We used Avis from a Long Island airport, and paid about $500 last December. It's important to make sure you get unlimited miles. It worked out fine, and we'll be doing it again this year.

We did this last December for our BIG trip.

We had the van for over two weeks (I think 17 days altogether) and it sure held everyone!!

We used Hertz.

we rented one a about four/five years ago from enterprise, for 2 weeks, i cant remember how much we paid i want to say maybe $500. when i went to pick up the van the drivers mirror was cracked and it was a perfect spot for me when i used that side mirror, that evrything behind me was double and i couldnt judge the distance , it was worst for us because we drive during the night, when i called enterprises about the mirror we were told to take it to another enterprises and they would fix it, we did but wasted a whole day, between us forgeting our paperwork and they wouldnt give us a new van until we had the paper work and they wouldnt call our enterprises or even check my drivers lic. to verify it was me, then when we came back and then they didnt have a van for us . then we had to make another trip back the next day on our way down to the keys, when we returned from the keys and we were back in disney our original van was ready, mirror fixed we drove home and was offer $200 off for our trouble and the manager said they should never had us leave with the cracked mirror. we went out the next week and bought our own van and now we just bought a new conversion van with all the toys , we have been to florida 4 times, once we drove the rest flew,lol. so much for buying a van with all the toys. we enjoy it !

Don't forget to factor the price of gas in when you are looking at
driving vs flying. I wouldn't think a big van would get very good mileage.

Hello,

Since your from Lorain I let you know that the price we got from Cleveland airport area were around $375-$550 as another poster said watch because alot of them are charging extra for the miles. Also those were for mini vans not full size vans if thats what your looking for.
