I know I'm not out there alone with my fellow Disers, when I plan, then plan some more concerning my schedule and dining plans. I feel like I'm constantly tinkering, booking and cancelling ADR's, until I think it's just right.:rolleyes1

Well I think I just about have all of my plans set, except I need just 1 more ADR to make everything perfect. And of course I can't get it. And chances are I won't be able to get it.:headache: I won't mention the restaurant name, for fear of being accused of soliciting an ADR;), but it's one that is always hard to get.

Can anyone else out there relate? What do you do when you can't book that unavailable restaurant? Do you change your entire plans or do you just go with the flow?

I would make an ADR someplace else that fits in with your day's touring plan (i.e. in/close to whatever park you want for the evening) but keep haunting the on-line ADR system for a cancellation at your restaurant of choice. Since you have everything else set I would not start trying for other days; you'll just end up with a cascading house of cards falling down.

Heck, even after you arrive at WDW, check each day - including the day of the hoped-for meal - with guest services at your resort. Cancellations do happen. If you get lucky, cancel the back-up ADR and grab your meal of choice, but have the assurance that you will still have a nice sit-down dinner someplace even if it's not your #1 pick. I do not favor trying for a walk-up; if the restaurant is fully booked, it's fully booked. They do not hold back tables for walk-ups. And it would make me grumpier to wait for hours and hours for a walk-up seat than to have a reserved spot someplace else.

Stretch yourself; make the back-up ADR someplace that you've never been or a type of food you've never tried. You might get a pleasant surprise!

I finally have some workable plans, just waiting for day minus 180. :rolleyes1

But I had a very hard time, either coming up +/- one meal. Worse, I've got two TS that I just didn't want to "waste" DDP credits on; The 'Ohana Bfast under $25 and Sci Fi I know I'm only getting soda and a Ruben, under $20.
