This is not a sad thread, but I am pretty sure I have killed one in my family.

My family had a rule, Christmas morning, that we would not open gifts until everyone is up, and that you couldn't wake anyone up. Well, year in and year out, I was the last to wake up... usually by a good hour or so. Now this would be fine if you didn't have a ton of little cousins and whatnot just dying to open gifts. The family got a kick out of seeing little ones go nuts waiting. At some point grandparents would allow little ones to make noise around my room in attempt to wake me up.

Well last year was the first Christmas I wasn't home. My family said they opened gifts about 90 minutes earlier than usual (ok, I slept in a lot, I lied). My family has said they will be excited to renew the tradition this year but then it dawned on me... I am coming from the Atlantic Time Zone to the West Coast, 4 hours difference. I am pretty sure that I may wake up early regardless, breaking the tradition. I need to figure out this one fast.

Hmmmm. Deprive yourself of sleep ahead of time??:goodvibes

No chance, those kids will come into my room to check and they always know when I'm sleeping...

When they come in to check, grab them and tickle them! Viola - new Christmas morning tickle fight tradition.

I'm 6'6" 225 lbs. I pretty much do nothing but strike fear into these kids. I am the sleeping giant to them.
