Ugh. I'm having one of those days. The first part was great. My students were working, on track, doing everything they needed to.

Then I went to my grad class. My professor gave us a brand new syllabus with four major assignments on it- and the semester ends next Thursday! What he is thinking I don't know. We're all finally at a place where we feel good about our work load and assignments and now this!

I was freaking out so much about these new assignments that I forgot to watch my spedometer on the way to an IEP meeting. So of course now I have a speeding ticket for gong too fast through campus. If there is a silver lining, it's that he didn't write me up for speeding in a school zone. And he was very nice about it (well as nice as you can be). When he pulled me over, I honestly had no clue what I had done wrong. I'm mad at myself. Clearly I should have stayed in bed.

One question: Is it worth going to the court date? I've heard if they dont' show up then it's automatically dismissed? But what if they do show up? I was speeding, it was my fault for not checking my spedometer. I don't even know what I would say. It would be nice not to have to pay the price or get the points, but on the other hand it was my fault. What would you do?

Sorry about your day :grouphug:

I had one of those myself yesterday. After picking up my daughter at the bus stop I drove around looking for those Advent calendars. Naturally since it was the first I had a hard time. After finding (what I thought was a good parking spot) I spent 2 WHOLE minutes buying them at the store and came out to a cop running with a ticket 52$ as I touched the lines of the crosswalk  . My fault, but I cried all the way home. Like I needed this ticket at Xmas, and all for spending 2.28$.

I personally would not fight it, as you were speeding, but that is up to you. I also think you are right, if they don't show up you get off. But at what cost? Do you work that day? Do you have school?

I hope your day turns around, and if it doesn't then hopefully tomorrow is better :flower3:

:grouphug: Sorry about your bad day.

My sister had one of those yesterday. She had to get up extra early to take our dad to the hospital to have some surgery then to work. When she got home from work she found her house completely torn apart and trashed and her front door kicked in. Then her husband came home from work/dr. appt and he has to have an mri to rule out kidney cancer. So yeah, her day sucked big time.

Oh golly. That is a bad day. Will keep in her family in my thoughts and prayers. :grouphug:

I got a speeding ticket once - I didn't fight it though because I knew I was guilty. DH just got one on Black Friday for going through a yellow light that turned red before he got through.

Even when we deserve it - tickets still stink! :headache:
