We just decided to pursue purchasing a DVC resale at BCV, but haven't yet made an offer.

Based on what we've read recently about the 7 mo window, we decided to buy at BCV because we like it most and the chances of snagging a BCV studio or 1BR at 7 months at popular times seems to be difficult.

Since we have school age chlidren, we're limited to summer and holidays. Our concern now is whether we might have trouble getting into our home resort during popular times, esp. since BCV is so small.

Have any of you had problems getting a reservation at your home resort (esp. BCV) at 11 mo? We don't want to spend all this $$ and be stressing every year about whether we'll be able to get a room.

TIA!! :goodvibes

We own SSR and have never had trouble at the 11 month window. We have gone during peak times too. But that being said it is much larger than BCV. Good luck on your purchase.:goodvibes

We own at VWL and AKV and have not had troubles getting into VWL, even in December, but I did call day-by-day for that one just to make sure. But I had forgotten a day that my best friend was staying and it didn't get gobbled up by the time I remembered a few days later.

A few years ago, I missed the 11 month window by just a couple days. When I called, VWL and BWV had no availability of studios (fortunately BCV, my home, was available). However, when trying to get BCV under 7 months, BCV is the only resort where I have never had the waitlist come thru for me.

I called 3 days after the 11 month window opened for Dec. 28 - 30 at BWV and am still waitlisted. Same thing happened for an early Dec. date a couple of years ago at BWV and the waitlist never did clear. These have been the exceptions. I now know that for the busy times I must call exactly 11 months out day-by-day. I would not let that discourage you from buying BCV, if that is where you want to stay. If you don't buy there you may have very, very limited chances to book what you want during popular times. And as DVC grows, the 11 month window at small resorts gets ever more important.

So far, I've made 2 11 month out reservations for Studios and 2 bedroom with the 2 Q beds at BCV. So, I'm 100% at 11 months out, not calling day by day, either. These were for May and November of this year. We just bought our BCV points last year:banana: My next try will be for May '09 reservations before our DCL cruise over Memorial Day weekend.

There are some key dates that are critical for 11-months. We've done NYE several times, and I know from experience that all the standard view studios at BWV will be gone within an hour (maybe less) of MS opening at the 11-month window.

But for most reservations it's not that critical. 8 to 11 months will work for most everything. If you want NYE, Christmas day, Thanksgiving day, etc, then you may really need to call right away.

Those are really the exceptions, not the rule.

I have never had a problem with the 11 month window @ VWL but I go in March, April, May or October, November. I have wanted to move the reservation at the 7 month window but have never been able to get the rooms without being waitlisted so I didn't take the chance.

Many consider the first week of December busy. When reserving BCV at the 11 month window I had no problem with booking a studio at the end of the reservation (not day-by-day). I had booked a 1 bedroom (easier) day-by-day for that week then my plans changed and canceled the 1 bedroom and booked the studio. That made me wonder why I was so uptight calling at 9am each day for the 1 bedroom! :headache:

The only days I have heard DISer's having to waitlist for at 11 months are NYE and maybe Christmas.
