Ever had luck with this at check-in?

We were wait-listed for a MK view 1 BR at BLT for our trip (Oct. 12-16), but that cancels a few days beforehand if it doesn't come through. We are going to call daily until then, but we also plan to ask at check-in. We know this will cost additional points, but I'm just wondering if anyone has gotten to move up a category/view at check-in.

I would never have the Front Desk do anything that causes them to touch my points. Every time that they have without my knowledge, they have screwed them up and it has taken days to fix.

The front desk can not book a room on points.

They have to call member services too.

Yes....We were able to get a 1 bedroom, up from a Studio at BLT. We checked in on Dec 27 and checked out Jan 2 last year. We also added an additional room when we checked in. We had called for months, plus wait listed to no avail. It took a long time at check-in to do everything, but it was worth the extra time to get what we wanted.
 

The front desk can not book a room on points.

They have to call member services too.

The Front Desk canceled our reservation by mistake and put our points into holding, then they borrowed points to make the reservation. We were told by MS that the Front Desk Managers and lead CM's have access to our DVC accounts to fix reservation problems when MS is closed but they are not trained on holding accounts.

At least that is what we were told.

Thanks. What I was told this AM was that the Front Desk cannot check on anything other than for cash. We don't want that. I may still try and encourage them to call DVC, but we might just take the lake view and be done with it. There is no availability for any of the nights we're there, so we probably won't get it at this point anyway. Thanks for your thoughts! :)
