I was just reading the "Ever Had a Shock" Thread and saw the post about people offering aid to a young man who had fallen. Made me think of something that happened during my last trip. I was coming into the MK on a Spectromagic night. It was very hot and very crowded. I was using my scooter and I bring stuff with me that I wouldn't if I was walking. I had a jug of ice water and a wet face cloth. As we were waiting to go thru security, I noticed a girl of about 8 or 9 lying on the ground crying. She was very pale and I thought she might have fainted from the heat. I grabbed the face cloth and soaked it with ice water and went over to the family. It turned out she had fallen and cut her leg and just then some medical people showed up to help. The family thanked me and I went back to my scooter.

Anyone else have a nice RAoK story?

First, it was really nice of you to help that family. We were on the receiving end of an act of kindness at Epcot earlier this month. I was watching DD have a wonderful time playing in the sidewalk fountains while DH went to get one of those yummy fiesta margaritas from Mexico. I started talking to another mother while waiting for DH to come back so I could go in search of film (we had used the last of the roll and the extra ones were in our room) and a towel for DD. When DH came back I told him where I was going and out of the blue the mom I'd been talking with gave me a roll of film. Those are some of the best pictures of our trip.:)

On our last trip to WDW, my aunt fell and hit the top of her head while at WS at EPCOT. Another guest took her to the ladies' room and helped her clean it up. When the guest saw how bad the gash was, she escorted my aunt to First-Aid, and stayed with her until our family showed up. :D

On the same trip, my two daughters and another child were playing a carny-game at Dinoland USA. My oldest daughter won, and the boy (older than my daughter) walked away with his family. Then, my daughter turned to her younger sister, and gave her the stuffed dino. Well, they had been bickering and aggravating each other all the day before (because we kept them up too late, etc - my fault!) and I wanted to reward my eldest for her kindness this day, so I told my husband, who was next to the carny guy, about eldest daughter's "Disney Spirit". And then the carny guy goes and gives eldest daughter another stuffed dino! It was a totally unexpected reward, and the big grin on both daughters' faces was wonderful to see. The carny guy got a big thank you from both girls too. It certainly made up for the grouch-a-thon we had endured the day before :o

What a wonderful lesson for your daughter... kindness is rewarded... and how true.

Thanks for sharing those stories.

Love this kind of thread....why is it though that we only see/do these things at DW.....wish we could 'pay it forward' more often!

I always bring stickers with me to DW and carry them in my purse. When I see a child who is behaving nicely or whatever, I try to reward them by giving them a big, sparkly sticker....usually Tinkerbell or Mickey.

There is very little that can give such pleasure as the smile of a child at DW....puts the world in perspective!

So...in a way...I was the tag fairy before it was cool!

We were waiting to enter AK one morning. Weather was pleasant, but I noticed a young boy near me that was flushed and sweaty. His mom was fretting over him. She caught my eye and said she couldn't believe her son woke up with a slight fever on their first day of vacation. She feared he was getting worse and would have to go back to the hotel.

I pulled my trusting bottle of children's Tylenol out of my pack and gave it to the mom. She was so grateful. (And trusting - not sure if I would have taken a bottle of stuff from a stranger - but then again, I am rather non-threatening!)

We saw them later on that morning and the boy was running around laughing and smiling.

Made me feel good!

I agree with you about the trusting part, not sure I would have taken medication from another stranger. But I sure would have headed over to first aid for some tylenol!

I was at WDW with two friends, one who uses a power wheelchair. We wanted to see Fantasmic and arrived at MGM about a half hour before the show. Some very, very nice woman walked up to us and asked if we wanted her four tickets to Fantasmic - they did a dinner at an MGM restaurant which included guarenteed seats in a reserved section of Fantasmic. But her family had to leave and could not see Fantasmic that night. We accepted her tickets and did we thank her!!!!!!

So we got to enter Fantasmic into the reserved section, which was the only section with handicapped seating still remaining. The place was already packed, as we probably would have not had anywhere to sit if we sat in general seating.

It was so nice of her to just give away her seats. :) :) :)

This one happened over at IOA. My DS, then 13, and DD 18, were on a quick Spring break trip to Orlando. DD had been wanting to visit Jurassic Island for years, but was also suffering from a bug. After the Jurassic ride, she needed to go back to the hotel. DS and I were working on visiting some other attractions before the park closed, feeling time pressure, and a lovely woman gave us her Express passes for the Fire Dragon. That let us even see Poseidon's Fury before it was time to leave.

During crowded Easter week two years ago. My family was delighted to get 4 fastpasses for Pooh from a family leaving the park for the day.

Fastpasses were gone for the day by the time we had gotten to the park and we had ridden it once but the line was over an hour and half.

That was the best ride of our trip that year.

Never received, but gave. We had an extra free pass for Test Track from all the times that it kept breaking down on us. We asked our two DD's to pick a nice family waiting in line (before Fast Pass was an option), and we gave them the ticket.

They were stunned, and asked us if we wanted money for it. We said no, we were just happy to help. It really made our day to help someone else out. :teeth:

We have also given away our fast passes for TT when we knew we would not use them.We go at least once a year to WDW and usually for almost 2 weeks so we get our fill of all the rides(doesnt keep us from coming back though!!)I love the look on someones face when you hand them something for "FREE".

on the very last day of our honeymoon trip, dh and i recieved two extra fast passes for space mountain. it was great! :)

last year in may, we passed it forward by giving a couple our extra splash mountain fastpasses. they were so shocked -- they kept asking if we were joking. :p :p :p

My brother and I usually go to WDW together every year (he's not going this year--I'm taking DH instead), and we always go to Disney Quest.

Shortly after Disney Quest opened, my brother was playing the game where you drive the remote control cars in the maze (I can't remember the name of it now), and was doing REALLY well--he had hundreds of tickets for finding the idols (he's got really good eye-hand coordination, unlike his sister).

We didn't really want another toy to take home, so we looked around and saw two small kids, no more then 8 years old, who were really struggling with the game, and looking pretty discouraged as they walked away. We gave them all of our tickets, and they were so excited! After that, we made it our ritual--we'd give all of our tickets to kids who were trying really hard, and not getting tickets. It always makes us feel good.

In the fastpass giving vein...

Due to an auto accident I use a GAC when I attend the park these days. That generally means I just show the pass and go through the fast pass queue (for the rides I can go on, that is)... would it be unethical of me to use our admission passes to grab a set of fastpasses and hand them to a family in the standby line? Thereby making their day, but not quite following the faith of the GAC. :bounce:

We were also on the recieving end of FP last Oct.
The line to SM was 30 min. We decided to go on. After standing outside in the hot sun for at least 30 min., we gave up & started to leave.
A couple came up to us & offered their FP. We were so greatful.
The ride was working fine, the time on the sign was just incorrect. We were on the ride w/in 10 min.
Whoever you were, thank you.:) :) :)

It seems like we always end with extra FP's to give away for one reason or another. Sometimes you get strange looks from people who think you are trying to sell them something, they try to hand you money or have never heard of FP? DD has pretty decent luck at winning stuffed animals at the resorts game rooms and AK. She ends up giving them away to small children. Sometimes one smile from a small child or family can make your whole day

The first time we went to the Beach Club Clam Bake Buffet my DS, who was 10 at the time, had just come back to the table from the buffet. Just after he sat down a lady came over to our table and said she had watched which table he had gone to because she wanted to talk to his parents.
All I could think was "Oh, God, what did he do now?"
I guess she saw the look of fear on my face, because she said "Don't worry, it's nothing bad. I just wanted to let you know that you should be proud of his manners. All the other children at the Buffet were pushing in and grabbing stuff off the buffet and she watched him as he waited his turn and said excuse me to others in line."
I was stunned. I had been teaching him manners since he was little and hoped that he had learned something. It just surprised me that someone took the time to come to us and let us know what they had seen. My son was so pleased that she had come over and said something, though slightly embarrassed at the same time. I was proud of him and thankful that she had made my day by saying something.

It was a double whammy. He gave and I got at the same time.

Disneyholic that brought tears to my eyes! How sweet is your DS!!! That's great that he's learned so much and uses it!

We were at Animal Kingdom waiting for the parade to start. We had been waiting for awhile so we had good seats in the shade as it was very hot outside. Shortly before the parade was to start we kept watching this elderly lady with her grown son walk back and forth looking for a seat. They ended up sitting around a corner on a bench (since she needed a seat) and had no view of the parade. I went over to them and asked if they would like to sit with us. My husband and I sat on the ground and held our kids and let the lady and her son have our bench seat. They were so appreciative and could not believe we had given them our seats. After the parade was over, she hugged me, told me how beautiful my family was and other wonderful things. She made my whole day by saying such great things to me and I will never forget that moment. So I guess I was the one who actually had something wonderful done for them.
