Ever, Ever After: The TR Formerly Known as Wishing You Were Here- May 2011

Yeah For starting your TR! I totally agree on kids knowing somehow that you have somewhere to go and inevitably sleeping late, my middle one does that.

Good luck on selling your house. We have been looking to buy a house and hope our luck will turn around soon.

Here! And subbing! I've been looking forward to reading your TR!

Great first installment. :)

Great start! I look forward to reading more about your trip.

Your boys look so grown up compared to the pics from the last TR.

Kate, great first installment. I can't believe how big the boys have gotten since the last TR. :goodvibes

I don't get on here all weekend and look what happens! I'm looking forward to another wonderful trip report, and many adorable pictures of the boys!

Awww...the boys looked so happy to be stuffing those bellies full! :) And Golden Corral is yummy. However here, they've changed it so that the server no longer brings bread to the table...they have a little place where you get your own bread. Kind of sad really. :(

Oh well. :) I'm here. And can't wait to read more!!

Carter looks so handsome! Great job on the cut. He's even more adorable!

I can relate to the nap thing as well. Both of mine do the same thing. Too bad the trip had to begin with waking them, but it looks like everyone was happy at dinner time. :thumbsup2 Can't wait to read more about your trip!

Thanks for the PM heads up! Not bad, page 2!! Let's roll!

Hi Kate. True to my word, I lurked thru all of your previous trip report and the PTR for this one. And, here I am again. :flower3: You're off to a great start and I'm looking forward to more. popcorn::

I'm here, too! How'd I miss that you started this?? Will go back and read now! :rotfl: OK..all caught up! What is it with little kids and the carbs? I think if I allowed Max to live on them exclusively, he'd be a happy boy, indeed. Great start! Can't wait 'till you get to Disney. I still cannot believe that you braved it by yourself. I'm trying to think about whether or not I'd be able to handle Max alone...hmm..probably not!

Great start....can't wait to see how you did with the boys by yourself. Full bellies hopefully means smooth sailing in the car for a bit.

Great start!!! Are you hoping to stay in the same town you are now, or are you making a big move? The boys are adorable, as always!

Thanks! We'll probably stay in the same town. Our cute little townhouse has been getting more and more uncomfortable as the boys get older, so we mostly just want more room. And a big backyard.

Yeah! I'm so excited you have started! I was thinking of you and your new stroller. That baby is pretty big! Is it heavy?
I'm anxious to hear how things changed for the boys now that they are a few months older!

I'm excited to get this TR started, too. The stroller isn't really too big, at least not compared to some of my other doubles. It's not really too heavy, unless I'm holding Landon at the same time, in which case it's very heavy. :rotfl:

It seems every Disney trip we take with the boys is a slightly different adventure. It's fun to see how the trip dynamic changes as they grow up.

Subscribing. I found your last TR when you were almost finished, so I'm glad to join this one from the start. You are so brave to take two toddlers to Disney. We are excited to be going for our first trip in just two weeks, but my kids are older - 8 and 6.

I'm glad you found this one from the start! Taking two toddlers to Disney actually isn't too bad. I bet it is easier to take an 8 and a 6 year old. You all are going to have so much fun on your first trip.

How do they know? :rotfl: It happens all the time. Maybe they are excited and take longer to get to sleep in the first place. That sort of makes sense.

Thanks! It seems like it would be a really good time to buy a house; there's certainly plenty for sale. I hope you all find the right one.

Here! And subbing! I've been looking forward to reading your TR!

Great first installment. :)

Hi! Glad to see you here! :)

Great start! I look forward to reading more about your trip.

Your boys look so grown up compared to the pics from the last TR.

Thanks! All the best parts of the trip are still coming up. :goodvibes

I guess they do look older. I didn't really notice it happening, but they do look more grown up in the pictures now. That's good.

Kate, great first installment. I can't believe how big the boys have gotten since the last TR. :goodvibes

Thanks! They sure have grown since the last TR. Must be all those crackers. :rotfl:

I don't get on here all weekend and look what happens! I'm looking forward to another wonderful trip report, and many adorable pictures of the boys!

I've found one weekend can be quite significant in DIS time. I do have quite a few cute pictures of the boys coming...

The boys are growing so fast! too cute!!

Thanks! They'll be ready for Soarin' in no time.

I think the boys were both very happy to be getting their dinner. Judging by how much they ate, they were quite hungry. I was happy we found the Golden Corral. It seemed like one of those times when the boys were going to want more than just a fast food kid's meal.

Thanks! I thought his haircut turned out pretty cute this time. I figured with the two boys, I should probably learn how to do haircuts.

They actually took to being woken up fairly well this time. I think Carter knew we were going to Disney World and was excited. Landon seemed pretty cheerful, too, especially once he got to eat dinner.

Thanks for the PM heads up! Not bad, page 2!! Let's roll!

You're welcome! Page 2's pretty good. :thumbsup2

Hi! I'm glad you're back for this TR! I don't mind lurking, but thanks for letting me know you're reading. :goodvibes

Sounds like you were off to a pretty good start! We have never driven to WDW...it would be a 24 hour drive for us...a little much, I think!

Good luck in the move! We moved into my grandparent's old house last year around this time. The backyard is SOO nice for Colby to play in!!

I'm here! Great start! Can't wait til you get to Disney!

Thanks! That's exactly what I was thinking during the drive- can't wait til we get to Disney!

I'm here, too! How'd I miss that you started this?? Will go back and read now! :rotfl: OK..all caught up! What is it with little kids and the carbs? You hadn't missed much, it just started. Landon is our carb lover. He'd love to have crackers, bread and milk at every meal. We try to only eat at restaurants that have rolls for Landon to eat while we wait. :rotfl:
I'm sure you and Max would have a great time by yourselves! I thought a couple times during our trip how easy it would be if I only had one of my boys there.

Great start....can't wait to see how you did with the boys by yourself. Full bellies hopefully means smooth sailing in the car for a bit.

Thanks! Full bellies usually means smooth sailing for awhile. It was interesting leaving in the evening instead of in the morning.

Sounds like a smooth start, can't wait to see how the rest of the drive/arrival went!

We were definitely off to a good, if slow start. No incidents, yet. :thumbsup2

After a big dinner, Landon and Carter were feeling much better about the car ride. They were playing a fun game of peek-a-boo with each other.

For awhile, there was nothing for Jeremy to do, since they were entertaining themselves so well.

Traffic was light and we were finally making some good time. Driving was going great.

As the boys got bored, Jeremy handed out some of their new books and toys. Most items were well received.

Eventually, we decided it was time to break out the big treat for the boys, their very own, dual screen, portable DVD player!

They were both very happy and excited to see their Wiggles DVD start. Landon put on his Watching TV face.

Carter watched less intensely, but with just as much enthusiasm.

I missed having my tunes playing, but the Wiggles music wasn't too bad for driving. The songs were all very catchy, and I already knew most of them.

"Ooh! It's my favorite! The Shimmy Shake!"

Jeremy and I sang along with Sam.

We were equally pleased a few songs later to hear "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing." We were baffled when they started to sing it in Greek.

"Why Greek?"

"Maybe it makes more sense if you see the video."

"Maybe. But I kind of doubt it."

Your boys are precious! The DVD player is always a life saver on long trips. I couldn't help but notice the pirate pillowcase. I have been considering buying that set for my son when we move into our new house in a few weeks. Thought it might get him excited for a new room. Did you buy it from Target? Have you been happy with the quality, etc? I really loved it when I found it online.

My kids recieved a set of screens for the car for Christmas of 2006. Best gift I ever got that wasn't given to me. We still use them today. The nice thing about them are they can each watch their own DVD which is a good thing when on is 6 and the other is 15. Head phones are a blessing.:lmao: Looks like the boys are having alot of fun watching the Wiggles. Sounds like mom and dad are enjoying them too...:rotfl:
