Ever Decided to Stick with Your Home Resort After Trying Out the Others?

We own at BWV and have stayed in a 1 BR and 2 BR at OKW, a studio at VWL and a 1 br at BCV. I will have to say that the BCV is my least favorite. Although we had a fabulous view of the fireworks the room was already in poor condition and we had to make several calls for repairs. We had a lonnnnngggg walk (longer than any I have ever had at the BW) and something about the atmosphere turned me off. Also, we didn't feel that it was jusified to spend more points and still having to walk around the lake to get to the excitement at the Boardwalk. I liked VWL because it was close to the MK and the woodsy feel that it has (although we had a dumpster view the last time we stayed here). OKW we like to stay at when we have extra visitors because it is spacious. But when it is just the 4 of us, BWV 1 br is our way to go. Our oldest daughter who is only 3 has loved the slide at Luna Park since she was about 18 months (young I know but we can't keep her off). We like being able to walk tothe boardwalk to get our favorite tomato and basil pizza and taking the kids for ice cream (we had Beaches and Cream at our last stay and it was good too!). Also, we like staying at the boardwalk simply because that is where we chose to buy.

Interesting thread.

We own at OKW and BWV.

OKW has our heart. We just feel totally "at home" here, we love the quite atomosphere, it's like a oasis after time spent in the parks, pools etc. Just gives us a feeling of total relaxation.

BWV .. We like for 3-5 day visits..we love Epcot, food and wine etc. and there is no better place to be than at an epcot resort for these types of events. So easy to walk back to you room after sampling wine..... However, when we've tried longer stays we start to get annoyed with the "hotel" atmosphere and wish we were back at OKW.

We tried BCV for 8 nights last december. Although this is a beautiful resort, room was great, great view of epcot fire works etc., the resort really didn't do much for us. SAB doesn't really appeal to us, we like the quiet pools etc. Have to agree with previous poster that points for this really aren't justified if you have a parking lot or garden view. Even our epcot view was really of a road outside and the back for a few attractions..was really only nice at night for viewing the fireworks. That said, I can fully understand why people would love this resort, and families who enjoy SAB have the perfect spot.

We haven't tried VWL yet. We don't spend a great deal of time at the MK and so far haven't had the desire to stay here yet. Not sure why, we drive everywhere anyany, and VWL really isn't any different than driving at the other resorts. Every resort is close to something! We do enjoy the WL and always make a point to visit every trip. Love to dine at artist point and it's one of our favorites when checking out holiday decorations.

I agree, the beauty of DVC is there is something for each and every one of us to enjoy!

Great Thread!

We LOVE our home resort BWV (200 pts) which we bought site unseen and we planned to do a small 50 pt add on at VWL, cause we knew we would love it also. BUT, after staying there (at Christmas time even) we were homesick for the BW. My 11 year old even cried that she wanted to go "home" and couldn't we move back to the BW during our stay.

I have very fond memories of the VWL, and would like to stay there again -- just not for several years. OKW does not interest us at all, but again I would like to stay there sometime before 2042 LOL.

We have since add 100 pts at the BCV, and will do 2 years in a row at BW, then 1 year at BC - repeat pattern. We just LOVE to be able to walk to MGM and Epcot, our 2 favorite resorts. We love the pools at BW and BC, love the nightlife, love everything about them.
