Ever built a swimming pool? Experiences good or bad?

Have you ever built a swimming pool in your yard? (in ground pool) . I'd love to hear the good and bad stories, specifically about which company you used also. We built one last year and it's been a semi nightmare.

My parents had one built in our Florida home about 2 years ago. It wasnt much of a hassle for us, until we had to knock down part of our back wall in order for the trucks to get in.

We had one built 4 years ago, and we have had no problems ours ,which was a one piece fiberglass pool and we love it! it was done by permaglass in indiana. now our house is up for sale and we have been transfered to Ohio,. i plan to go back on the weekends and use it until it sales, and yes my next house will have a one piece fiberglass pool.

We have had our for 20 years and have had no problems. It is an ingroud with a vinyl liner. Finally had to replace the liner a couple of years ago. Would definately do it again. Sorry you have had so many problems.

Yeah, we built our pool last fall. One of the largest pool builders in the country built ours (won't name names right now). The pool is finished now, but we are having problems with the deck around the pool and it's just been crazy. (Customer service kind of disappears once the money has been paid, lol.)
